Slots & Daggers takes a concept that could easily feel gimmicky and turns it into a genuinely smart roguelike strategy game. Rather than leaving victory purely to chance, success comes down to how you manipulate the odds by locking in key symbols and curating your reel deck as you descend deeper into dungeons.
Runs are fast-paced and perfect for mobile sessions. The tension when holding two lethal icons while hoping the third reel lands on a critical strike is unmatched.
Innovative fusion of slot mechanics and tactical turn-based combat.
Over 100 unique reel symbols and artifact power-ups.
Procedurally generated dungeons with challenging boss fights.
Prioritize removing basic attack symbols from your slot pool early in a run. Replace them with synergistic elemental symbols that trigger secondary combo damage.
Hold specific symbols between spins to guarantee defensive maneuvers while setting up high-reward triple combos on the next turn.
No, Slots & Daggers is purely a single-player roguelike video game with no real-money gambling.
An even better RPG aspect to the game I already greatly enjoyed, Clover Pit. This is an amazing rogue-lite and just thoughtful around all of the details with the aspects of an rpg pixel rogue lite and a refreshing way to spin a slot to chance your outcome. Hats off to the devs! I did notice after maxing my graphics settings to 120FPS and set to ‘High’ my phone gets extremely hot after about 10 mins of game play. Running an iPhone 17 pro max with Apple case. Cant imagine this wouldn’t be able to handle, as other games with much more frame change don’t overheat at similar settings. Other than maxing in-game graphics triggering overheat, I have seen no other issues!
I saw another review mention Balatro and the video trailer got me intrigued. I just went all in and bought it and it is FUN. The way I started playing the game is not hy any means how I prefer to play it now, and the satisfaction you get from the slots and ultra long combos is NICE. My only complaint is the game is too short! Just being selfish and complaining I want more!!!! More perks to unlock and level up, more items and weapons to roll, more campaign levels, and more crazy weird arena levels! Overall love the game and strongly recommend it!
I know this game can be very fun and addictive, but I can’t get past the tutorial boss due to the game freezing / crashing. I am on an iPhone 16 Pro Max, playing on the lowest possible settings with just about everything extra like vibration and camera shake turned off and the game always freezes after I stop my 3rd spin. The audio is still playing but my screen is completely frozen and it does not respond to taps. I am forced to close the app and reopen it to an entirely fresh run with nothing saved. I am able to recreate this on every single run without fail. Again, I know how awesome this game can be and I just want to be able to experience it for myself. I’m pretty bummed about this but I’m hopeful there will be an update soon as I bought the game the day I am writing this review.
I never write reviews but I feel obligated to do so now. This game is crazy fun! Especially when I’m at work and need a quick fix lol. I will say I wish you’d extend the story version as I’ve beat it multiple times but I still play and try different builds. I will also say the arena version seems a bit unfair. One shotting me over and over and one shotting full shield is wild.
First off, this game is fantastic. I love it. Scratches the gameplay loop itch. HOWEVER, please do something about the size of the text in that stupid little box to the right. It seems to me like there’s a lot of empty space around main interface and controls, where a zoom and some adjustment of that window size could go a long way. The colors also make it hard to see things. I’m on a Pro Max screen, and I can’t imagine playing on a regular iPhone.
It runs very well and I decided to kick this up because of the setting. I haven’t played clover pit before but this one is certainly fun. I like how you get to pick your starting slot before each run which makes all runs different. The difficulty is there as I’m having trouble beating the snake lady.
This is one of the few games that kept me hooked from start to finish—and even after beating it, I still wanted to play it all over again. The rough visuals didn’t detract from the fun at all. It’s an absolutely fantastic game! I highly recommend it and sincerely hope we get a sequel.
Great little game! I enjoyed getting through unlocking everything and completing the campaign. One small complaint is some of the weapons don’t seem balanced - god help you if you don’t use the axe + shield potion every single turn. Taking down strong enemies without it is basically not an option.
