Dome Keeper delivers one of the most addicting and masterfully executed game loops in recent memory, seamlessly blending tension-filled mining exploration with high-stakes arcade defense. From the moment your keeper drops into the alien soil, the pressure is on. The sound design builds incredible tension, signaling the approach of alien hordes while you're deep underground trying to haul just one more precious resource cluster back to base.
The progression mechanics feel incredibly satisfying. Deciding whether to invest early materials into drill speed, movement efficiency, or raw weapon power adds genuine strategic depth to every single run. Combine that with a stunning pixel art aesthetic, smooth controls, and diverse loadouts (from different dome types to specialized gadgets), and you get a strategy-roguelike hybrid that is almost impossible to put down. It demands quick thinking and rewards smart risk management, making every successful defense feel thoroughly earned.
Roguelike action mining and defense gameplay loop
Procedurally generated underground maps for endless replayability
Two unique keeper types with distinct playstyles and abilities
Four distinct dome variants and powerful primary weapons
Robust upgrade trees for mining equipment, dome stats, and defenses
A vast array of primary and secondary gadgets to discover and unlock
Begin each run by drilling straight down beneath your dome to scout out basic resource veins like iron and cobalt. Always keep a close eye on the wave timer; greedily digging one extra block can leave your dome completely defenseless against incoming hostile aliens. Return to base before the countdown ends, mount your central weapon system, and neutralize flying and ground units systematically. Spend your collected materials between defense waves to upgrade drill speed, carry capacity, and weapon damage to keep pace with progressively tougher waves.
Gameplay is split into two tightly integrated phases: resource extraction and tactical base defense. Underground, players maneuver a jetpack-equipped keeper to mine blocks, uncover hidden caves, and carry artifacts back up. Above ground, players directly control weapons like lasers or mortars to ward off diverse alien monsters. Strategic decision-making shines through customization options—choosing between different keeper types, dome structures, primary weapons, and secondary gadgets tailored to your chosen difficulty and run modifiers.
The core loop alternates between mining underground for resources/relics and returning to the surface to manually defend your dome against waves of hostile alien monsters using upgraded weaponry.
Roblox does this to me sometimes but when it kicks me out I loos some of the save play I’m trying to beat a challenge mode and the boss fight it kicked me out 3 times in a row I was so happy when the game come out on mobile but it’s sad that this happens Maby it’s just me
I’ve always wanted to play this game (because i watched alot of videos on it) and im glad its on mobile because my console doesn’t have doom keeper in the store and my computer would die if i got it on it but i dont like that there are some bugs like: when you get the power drill and mine bedrock it just makes a physical invisible wall that only drones can go past and if theres any bedrock or something behind the bedrock you mined you cant do anything with the wall in the way and another bug i noticed is that when using the sword dome if you swing the sword too much to the left or right it wont move no matter what you do and you get softlocked and lose, and its hard not to do this because of the enemy placement and the touch pad thing. But overall this is a great game and im glad its on mobile now but i just discovered that the infiltrator and beastmaster are both from a dlc and i hope yall put the lost keepers dlc on the add store and thats all.
To the booger eaters that love free mobile slop games and thinking that it’s super great. Stop being cheap and pay the ten dollars and get a real game like dome keepers and maybe you’ll stop eatting your boogers.
There’s a bug in combat where the active ability button doesn’t appear. Also, if you move the cannon all the way to the right or left, it gets stuck and won’t move. These bugs have ruined more than one of my runs. The game is good, but the bugs really spoil it.
Cool-looking game, I love the concept and the look and feel. But eventually I’m prompted to hit the “A” button which must be from before it was ported. Or, do you need a controller for this game?
Can’t get to battle mode reliably. Needs a separate button to initiate
Nearly unplayable on mobile due to atrocious UX and controls. As a game developer myself, I try to give other games as much leeway as I can but dear god is this bad. I can’t even get a refund either so I just burned $10 for a few mins of confusion before giving up.
All the text in game is so small I can’t read any of it and there is no way to zoom in and see what it says. It’s not a very intuitive game and for $9.99 I expected better. I requested a refund
