-New Hunters
-New Weapons
-Various bugfixes
I’ve seen this hundreds of times before. P2W should be expected going in with a title like DMC. I mean do you honestly think that a team of developers spend months and months creating a beautiful game like this out of the goodness of their hearts? They have families to take care of just like everyone else. I do think that it would be better to just charge a flat price for the game instead of luring people in to thinking they can beat the game eventually without paying and then hitting them with it after they have invested hours upon hours of their time. Honestly people should expect to have to fork out a little money at some point though for a game like this. I mean this isn’t Angry Birds or Cookie Jam. I get so tired of people with their sense of entitlement who want everything for free. I mean I’ve even seen people get nasty with the creators of a free emulator just because it wasn’t able to play their favorite game yet. Go to school and learn video game development and put your own team together and spend months creating your own game and then offer it to the world for free and then you can gripe all you want about software companies that charge for their content. Until then give the rest of us a break and quit complaining.
I really enjoy playing devil may cry games. From the first devil may cry all the way to the prequel. I have yet to play the fifth. As far as gameplay goes, this devil may cry a game. You don’t even have to play it. There is an auto play feature, and you can just watch while your character goes through the level and does his things this to me is boring if I wanted to watch someone else play a game I would do that, but I am someone who is a gamer. I want to have fun meaning I actually want to play the game. I probably played this game for all of five minutes when it first came out and I haven’t picked it back up since because of how lackluster and just how bored I was with the game. And in truth, I completely forgot about this game until just recently. I’m not sure if I’m actually gonna keep this game on my phone. I might try this one more time to see how far it’s comes since the original launch date but initially it was not very fun.
I want to give this game five stars, I’ve been playing since day 1, with that being said i’ve seen some disgusting practices within its gacha mechanics. At a certain point it becomes impossible to progress without forking over money. $30 +tax to be exact, for specific characters you may want. There is a currency in game called “hunter vault breaker” it’s a premium currency. They give it to you in a abundance but surprise, surprise when it come time to actually use it, YOU CAN’T. They’ve completely removed the option and replaced it with an even more premium currency (it’s the exact same type of currency one is sky blue and the other is purple). When I first started the game I didn’t believe the reviews that called it p2w. But now as I’ve progressed to chapter XII it’s nigh on impossible to progress any further without spending money. Oh and you won’t only be spending money on characters you have to level them up also, the game doesn’t give you much to use, but they always give you the option of just paying for a mac level character. This is a disgusting practice and it needs to stop. I’ve already stop playing due to this and don’t plan on coming back until it’s fixed. Besides that GLARING issues it’s a solid hack n slash for iOS devices. Just know they WILL try to get your money and everything IS expensive.
This game on its own isn’t that bad for a mobile DMC. I admittedly haven’t played the mainline games, but the gameplay in this is decent enough that it got me interested in trying the ones everyone loves. That said, when you consider what this game originally was, it’s a lot more depressing. To put it simply, the original version of this game that was first released in Asia had much better combat with guns and more involved combos, while lacking the character switching that this version has which makes it feel like Genshin Impact for edgy 12 year olds. Not only that, but the gacha/loot boxes in this game are so horrendous that you can pay ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS for in game currency if you use the game’s website to purchase. This game had potential, but it was instead turned into a mobile hellscape for the sake of profit. If you want to play Devil May Cry, the first three games are on Steam for $30 and because they’re older they can run on pretty much any PC within the last 15 years. Then 4 is probably a similar story but it’s $25 standalone. 5 is more pricey and harder to run but it’s the newest one, go figure. Just… don’t bother with this one at the very least. You’d probably be better off playing the awful reboot DMC: Devil May Cry if you’re that desperate.
Stamina system needs a haul over for campaign and for cards. Really bad. Why should I have to choose between cards or campaign? And the renewal time for stamina is absolute trash. If you want us to play more and spend more why not make it to where we can play for more than 10 minutes at a time before waiting FOREVER for stamina to regenerate?? And the audio bugs and the controls bugs are starting to really get annoying. Lady has a jump evasion bug where it’s really effecting combat. As well as her missing SO MANY shots with her style skill. By the time you get to level 50 the epic cards are so expensive to upgrade that it’s ridiculous. Don’t even get me started on legendary cards. I have no hopes for upgrading those. Have multiple and don’t even have them equipped because I can’t Gonna be looking for a bug update soon and I really hope you guys will care more about your customers and fans than to just money grab everyone. I get to fight 6 campaign fights and then I have to stop unless I pay for more stamina??? I can’t spend 20-30 dollars a day to play like want to. Atrocious.
I’ve been an active player for about 3 weeks now, I’ve accumulated so much currency so I could finally do a 90 pull, only do discover you only have a 50% chance to pull the character you want. I wasted all of the currency I grinded weeks for, only to pull a legendary which I didn’t want, and is pretty terrible. Keep in mind that I received all of these currencies during the “initial phase” every gacha game has where you’re flooded with currency to attempt to get you hooked. Getting enough for another 90 pull with my initial rush of currency dried up would more then likely take months. Months I’m not willing to give to a game which is unfair to it’s dedicated free players. The one thing i will say about this game is sure, the combat itself is decent. It’s on par with Genshin Impact though arguably worse in some ways. Overall, I really wanted to like this game, but having my weeks of effort thrown out the window without as much as a chance of getting some of the characters I really wanted has soured my opinion on this game beyond repair. Play at your own risk, it isn’t free to play friendly and will screw you at every corner unless you’re willing to pay.
Yes after the delayed release of a month we get the game that instantly makes it impossible to play after 5 missions, like seriously you tell me I now have to wait 24hrs before I can play another 30 minutes of my free time? Makes no sense plz take the energy feature out add a grind aspect if anything I’d rather play bloody palace and lvl skills to beat missions than sit and wait a day for 5 missions of play time Also heard a bit about there being a old combat system although I don’t know about the old one but this one is super simple and repetitive attack dash ultimate ex id understand if that was Nero’s screen set up but they all share the same functions for the same buttons I wouldn’t mind a extra button for Dante to switch through styles or maybe even give me the option to use my guns which are traditional to DMC….. ALSO WHERE IS NERO’S DT he gained it in DMC 5 this is another example of it being simplistic they traded his EXCEED move for his DT capabilities a simple extra button or way of activation woulda added more value….ON THE BRIGHT SIDE the graphics are good and there’s not much lag they even made time for voice lines here and there. Hoping for big things!!!!
This game is the definition of false advertising. Every single time I make progress in the game I’m met with more and more options to spend money, idfk how they got capcom to agree to publishing this game. It’s so scummy, they use our favorite characters to entice us to spend money on a very low quality game that’s nothing like they promised. it’s very clear how desperately nebulajoy wants money because they ask for it repeatedly. the gameplay is super watered down, dmc is about keeping up crazy combos, switching weapons and styles and freaking guns and it’s got so little of that. I love dmc, I played it ever since I was a tiny child and I wanted this game to be good when they released it the first couple of trailers, but they butchered the game with insane amounts of gacha elements and lack luster gameplay. No amount of nostalgia is gonna make me spend a penny on this game. I hope nebulajoy updates the game and makes it more like the dmc games we all know and love with all the money they’re pretty much stealing from people.. I’m willing to continue playing this game if they get rid of the lame pizza stamina to play feature. Until then I’m just gonna delete the game.
