Pokémon UNITE is a bold and successful leap for the franchise into the MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) space. By stripping away some of the complexity of traditional MOBAs and replacing it with the charm and strategy of Pokémon, they've created something that is both accessible for kids and deep enough for competitive adults. The 5-on-5 format on Aeos Island is fast-paced, with most matches lasting exactly 10 minutes, making it perfect for mobile play.
The roster of Pokémon is diverse and constantly expanding—from fan favorites like Charizard to unique picks like Zapdos and Suicune. The 'Unite Moves' act as powerful ultimates that can turn the tide of a match in seconds. While the monetization for 'Holowear' (skins) can be steep, the core gameplay is fair and rewards team coordination over individual power. Cross-platform support with the Nintendo Switch is the icing on the cake, allowing you to keep your progress and play with friends regardless of their device. It's easily one of the best action games on the App Store.

Don't just hoard Aeos energy. Scoring small amounts quickly is often safer than waiting to score 50 points, as you can be interrupted by enemies. Use the bushes to hide your scoring animation from the opposing team.
Farming wild Pokémon in the 'jungle' or lanes is crucial for early evolution. Reaching your final form before the mid-game team fights gives your team a massive stat advantage and access to your Unite Move.
Yes, for the first time in a Pokémon title, you can use voice chat to stay in sync with your team.
This game is great, I love MOBA’s, I love pokemon, whats not to love right? ill tell you whats not to love, if I load into a game of ranked, id expect my teammates to play defensively or their respective lanes right? wrong, each and every game I play people prefer to push to the opposing goal and jungle for points whilst contributing in teamplay or defense at absolutely no point until near endgame, and the only reason this is even a plausible means of playing pu is because they they decided to have absolutely no goal defense, basically coaxing braincell deficient players into playing the game sub-optimally, and when said people decide they want to play ranked, they either notice that nobody in their right mind is playing like that and adapt, or show off how smooth their brain is by wasting peoples time and energy actually trying progress their rank, theres two ways to fix this, take out the point system, give the goals hp and make them a targetable entity and then add minions which spawn from the base and push towards the enemies base, nobodys gonna complain about copying the things that make moba’s good, look at HoK for example, straight mobile legends ripoff but they make getting skins easier so alot of people play it, your other option is to force every new player through a basic strategy tutorial, there should be no reason for somebody to neglect improvement in order to play the game faster when they are simultaneously affecting people who genuinely enjoy the game and wont just give it up after a week when they cant figure out how to get past veteran, im done here, peace out.
The game is amazing but there are some features that I’d like to see. Firstly, this is already a thing but during bot matches (matches where everyone else is a bot) you can choose a pokemon. But if that pokemon is recommended for a lane but you choose to go jungle (middle lane) a bot will still go to the jungle. I would like to see a change so that the bots will never go which lane you choose to go even if your pokemon is not recommended there. Second, I would like to see an option in the menu to choose held items and battle items for a pokemon as well as a personal emblem set for each one since you can only currently have 3 and I usually end up forgetting to switch when I play a different pokemon. It would be great if you could make specific emblems for each specific pokemom. Lastly, I would like to be able to choose from multiple builds when I make a pokemon such as Pikachu having 3 different builds where you can personalize items for which type of game style you would like to play that round. Also, I know the game is supposed to make money but there is just such a limited amount of skins and cosmetics for holowear tickets and fashion tickets, maybe they could be exchanged for other currencies or add more cosmetics for those to use. Thank You.
1.) Y’all messing with the license prices too much man, at least increase weekly coin cap to 3100 and add more ways to earn coins to keep up with these 14k Pokémon licenses. 2.) Very bad matchmaking; how y’all gonna team me up with players that are level 20- at the start of season resets? I’ve been going up 1 game, then down again, and playing this idiotic cycle of losing and winning for almost a week now. It has only lowered me from where I started on season reset! It’s INSANE! PLEASE fix matchmaking, I do not want to see myself quitting this game because of these noobish players that don’t know how to cooperate with me or play with people at my level (Lvl. 30-40+). Also, giving us fair-play points to make up for other teammates idling during matches isn’t fair (in the ranks before master), so please switch that up too. 3.) There also needs to be more F2P content in the stores, like more uses for the fashion exchange tickets (I have almost 2k) and more Pokémon holowear to purchase with the holowear tickets. I’ve been supporting and buying from the game since Switch release, but I’ve never felt so frustrated with the game before, so please do something about it all. Minor Suggestions: 1.) Make owned items/holowears/stickers/etc. appear before the unowned items in your inventories. 2.) I know Nintendo might make it difficult, but please allow, at least, the 13+ (or older) people to chat freely anywhere and use voice chat. There can also be chat filters/censorship to make it more kid-friendly.
This game is ten out of ten and is great. Just matchmaking is way to unfair also losing one game in a row makes you play with bots which is annoying but I wanna talk about matchmaking. The thing is is that there is no actual determining on which ranks get played or not. Basically I just barely got into veteran all my team is veteran 1 or 2, while the enemy team is like veteran 5 or maybe even ultra, it tells that way because i have low ranked teamsters that I like to say don’t know what a Pokémon is but they just don’t know the concept of the game, unlike my opponents. Also I think it’s extremely unfair if your solo queuing and a random 5 man, (team of 5) shows up and destroys your team because they have coordination. I know that this is definitely not the games fault and just the fact that the game is trying to match make with other players of the same rank but I mean, it would be nice to not get 5 maned in solo queue. The last thing is that different ranked players should not be able to play with each other. I think that it’s dumb because you’ll have like your professional big brother playing with his younger brother who doesn’t know what the A button does. Like I mean this is what casual is for, not ranked. But ya this game is great and I really hope that you will fix matchmaking.
First of all, Lucario’s evolution is missing. If Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur have to evolve, why doesn’t he? Riolu is the evolution for Lucario, but yet he doesn’t show up. 2. The characters are balanced okay, but if I am being honest, Pikachu is terribly overpowered. Every time I eat the yellow fruits near the enemy goals, if a pikachu is in the game, he one-shots me at full health, and I get eliminated. 3. My favorite evolution line is Eevee, so for somebody like me, I can’t do without all of them. This game is lovely, but it’s missing Vaporeon, Flareon, and Jolteon altogether. Like I said, I love Eevee, but it’s just hard for me to feel natural when some are missing. 4. I can never obtain the currency used to buy Outifts that isn’t tickets, and I can’t buy them. I feel like that currency should not exist. If the only way you can get them ( That I know of ) is with real money, I don’t think they should be in the game. Perhaps make them able to get with events and Unite battles, then I would drop the idea of removing them all together. I really want all of the eeveelutions Unite licenses, and the outfits, so Please make this more possible, without having to use money for a online currency. Thank you for reading this and have a good day, God bless you :)
This is, quite simply put, a very fun game. It feels “League of Legends” or even “Splatoon” adjacent sometimes. I am not necessarily a long-time enjoyer of Pokémon, but after recently getting into the series, this is a breath of fresh air to Pokémon’s usual capture-and-battle formula while still keeping the battle and competitive components in tact. It’s not perfect, though. On my mobile device, this game experiences heavy lag even when I am in a spot of good connection. It runs just fine on my Nintendo Switch, but the button configurations take some getting used to and I wish I could play reliably on both platforms. The servers need some stabilization to fix this issue. Before adding more cosmetics and Pokémon options, I ask that the base game get a thorough review to work out some of the minor issues (balance being another, and possibly more text chat options with the amount of players who chose not to use voice chat). Overall, as the title says, this game has astonishing potential. Again, it is very fun! I would love to see more game modes in the future, like a last man standing team knockout, or even a soccer type game. The regular matches seem a bit long to me, but my team has often went from a deep loss to an impressive victory in the last few minutes, so I can’t say too much else about that. The gameplay - when not lagging - is engaging. I do recommend this game! The Pokémon you get for free are very fun to play, and you can buy another of your choice within a few days after welcome gifts are awarded. I also look forward to seeing what more this game will become!
I’d like to start off by saying this game is extremely fun and I do enjoy playing it and I’ve evangelized my friends into it as well. In season one I shot up to masters 1800 so I don believe I have a decent understanding of the nuances and complexities of this game. The game is intuitive and easy to pick up though I do think it’s no truly optimized for mobile, and the cast of characters are ‘t just the extremely popular Pokemon more fringe ones do appear. The playstyles can feel a bit samey but the diverging move paths help with that. I’d like to preface this next statement by saying that the team behind this game has worked to fix this issue but the attempts are lackluster and halfhearted. The game suffers from the problem of Pay 2 Win elements, in the case of pokemon unite it isn’t egregious or even apparent in many cases but the element of item upgrading as well as the recently added boost emblem rolling can be accelerated through payment allowing players to have a stark advantage over others, as you play more of the game these issues balance out but if you pick up new pokemon that need new items this issue can arise again. Overall it’s a fun game with a dev team that brings fresh and interesting features all the time but be aware that you may find it slightly unfair once you get moved from bot matches to real lobbies
Game is good. But after playing this for a few months there are things that need improvements on. 1) Chat system needs to be more accessible besides just the brief moment before match matching. There needs to be more communication options, or chat abilities besides microphone within the game and after. To players during and after the game. This is the number one frustration I faced along with all the friends I’ve invited to play. Game feels too claustrophobic with the limited chat abilities you have. Even chatting to friends in text is ignored because it’s so hidden away. Make it more pop. There’s just too many steps to go through to even chat with players. 2) There needs to be more information displayed after the game ends. Honor system, chat abilities (again), ability to see other players ranks on the spot besides needing to go into individual matches and checking individually. That’s hugely inefficient. 3) Bots. Addressed enough but understandable. However it gets boring. 4) Game feels too confined. There should be more UI buttons that make it more accessible to address chat, profile checking, and more open access issues listed above instead of these event buttons and gifts and whatnot, that don’t matter. Otherwise game has so much potential but feels lackluster and unrewarding to play. I play less and less because it just feels like I’m playing by myself.
