Wild Rift is more than just a mobile port of League of Legends; it's a ground-up reimagining of what a MOBA should be on a phone. The twin-stick touch controls are the best in the business—they feel incredibly responsive, making complex 'outplays' with champions like Yasuo or Lee Sin feel entirely natural. Matches are tuned to be much faster than the PC version, usually wrapping up in 15-20 minutes.
The game is visually gorgeous and impressively optimized. Riot has managed to keep the tactical brilliance and depth of the original game while trimming the fat. It’s also incredibly fair; every champion can be earned just by playing, and the monetization is strictly cosmetic. For anyone looking for a competitive, high-skill game on mobile, Wild Rift is the undisputed champion of the genre.
True 5v5 MOBA gameplay
Responsive twin-stick controls
All champions earnable for free
Optimized 15-20 minute matches
High-fidelity mobile graphics
Focus on 'last-hitting' minions to gain gold. Use that gold to buy items at the fountain to power up your champion.
Work with your team to take down Dragons and Baron Nashor. These provide team-wide buffs that can help you break into the enemy base.
No, Wild Rift is strictly skill-based. All champions can be unlocked through gameplay, and purchases are for cosmetic skins only.
Not really using this for anything else besides giving feedback as someone who’s been playing for a while; season 2 casual pc player and pretty much started wild rift right around when it came out. The perk about the mobile version is that games are much less sweaty if you casually play and much shorter, helps a lot with just a quick game on the go if I got a little bit of free time and that’s seeing things from way back then and now… it had it’s ups and downs and definitely got better with the time but I can say most mechanics now are somewhat worse than when wild rift released, sometimes it just ruins the joy of a good game with good opponents and I know for a fact the same thing that keeps failing mid-game, used to not happen before. I wondered if it was just my phone but I’ve tried with others and with different wifi connections; the same mechanics just keep having hiccups that ruins a good quick-play like when you have the setting for movement abilities to go towards the direction that the character is facing to but sometimes for some reason it does the opposite, and I know for a fact I’m not long pressing because after all, it’s just a tap. Last thing I wanted to point out is how at least up to today, recent wild pass skins doesn’t feel that special as they used to anymore and of course I’m not saying no effort has gone into it, but I haven’t felt as excited for a skin as I felt with the superhero and supervillain series with Jayce and Jhin
I have been playing league of legends since season 3/4. I have put a lot of time into the game. I love it. I used to come home from school and just want to play league with my friends. I have gotten back recently into league, and found out y’all made an app for league. I love the game. I am a truck driver and it helps kill time out on the road. The ranked system is good. The matchmaking is good. Communication with teammates is just not too easy compared to the PC version since we don’t have a normal keyboard. I got used to the differences in wild rift than league. The big problem I have is that I can’t link my LOL account with the wild rift. I have almost every champion on my account and spent between $1000-$2000 on skins and stuff. I would love to still have everything from my account. It is hard to get blue motes to unlock champions. I have already played 60 games mostly ranked, but I have been only able to unlock like 3-4 champions. Wild rift is missing some champions from league of legends also. Some of them I love playing in ranked that I am missing. Will y’all be adding the whole list of champions sooner or later? Overall y’all have done a great job with the game. I will still be playing it. I love the game and want to see how y’all will improve it from here. Can y’all reach out to me about if you will be able to link accounts so we can have all our champions and skins from our LOL account? Will we be able to get more blue motes in game? Thank y’all for your time in reading this.
This game is league of legends. Heard of it? Yeah I bet, it’s only one of the most competitive and skill based games online right now. And now there’s a mobile version of it. So many annoying ads try to replicate the gameplay of League of Legends for mobile. Well, after experience, I can tell you for sure. This is the only game that gets the entire heart and soul of League of Legends and puts it into a mobile app. Even down to the anger and lack of satisfaction when losing a game. The only “downside” that I can get for this game is that the people you play against are either not very good at regular league. Or they are actual children under the age of 16 years old. Most of the game feels easy… to a point of intoxicatingly fun how easy and satisfying it is to get kills and play. But if you’re looking for competitive spirit, just keep playing…. Around gold to diamond rank? People play really well, similar to online league. And the best part of all of this. THE GAMES ONLY LAST 15-20 mins!!!! Not like PC league where it can be 15-50 mins consistently. You will be done with each game by 20 mins in. And that is an amazing thing for league. Less time spent angry, more ability to play in non-local places, able to learn skills and awareness more, and on top of all of that, it’s just fun. It’s just a fun game. (don’t play support) instead of going to the horrible knock offs of this game. Come to the original and see how it betters your gameplay in almost every other aspect. :)
So much better than Arena of Valor. Wasn’t expecting decent gameplay on mobile platforms but on the iPad Pro, this game is phenomenally good. Buttery smooth frame rate at 120fps, not a hitch in graphics at all on a 3rd gen iPad Pro, if you have something newer then you’ll be good for a while as well. Like that I can log in with existing account for Riot. You can buy buttons to stick on the screen if you don’t like the thumb movement control. I tend to slide around further than the designated circle for movement. Everything else is fine though. The game is easier to play on a touch screen than I would have imagined. I would like to see controller support added though. Arena of Valor was put on Nintendo switch and it works fantastic there. Better yet, put Wild Rift on Nintendo switch as well please, and don’t separate it from the mobile player base like AoV did (that’s why it’s dying on switch). Since apple has allowed controllers via Bluetooth, it should be considered for moba titles on iOS/iPad OS. The only other gripe I have is that nothing transfers over in terms of purchased characters from the PC version. You do seem to get a new hero every time you level up though which is nice. The premium pass is cheap at only ten bucks for extra funsies. Bring controller support and allow things to transfer over like purchased hero’s and skins and this game will be by far the best moba on mobile platforms.
Never married before, but I haven’t touched grass in eleven months since I started playing, so I probably will never have the chance again. I played Wild Rift first on my iPad, after seeing many friends constantly on League proper. I played for a number of months, learning all the champions and grinding ranked. Eventually, I felt like I’d reached my limit, and because of how good this (mobile) game is, I purchased a PC to play the full thing! But to my surprise, Wild Rift still stands in its own right and is as good as the game in many places, sometimes MUCH BETTER than the original. Weaker points are mostly related to superficial factors, the frequent empty headed plays from people playing at work/in class/etc, feeders or inting players, toxic individuals in chat, leavers, and so on. Where the game soars is in its excellent pacing of each match, the punishing but also extremely enjoyable ranked systems(and now legendary update!), and the graphics that are somehow better than the main game. I mean, seriously, the fact that the client interface looks better than the PC game puts those developers to shame. All this to say, Wild Rift team has created something that will be around and exponentially permeating through mobile society for many years to come. I’m excited to see where they take both the casual and competitive scene from here. INSTALL THE GAME AND ENTER THE RIFT!!!
I have been playing this on my iPhone and iPad for at least 2 years. I played the original LoL on desktop several years ago and this is on par with the original. Great graphics, great balanced champions. Plenty of longevity as you master different champions, lanes and roles. A previous reviewer mentioned that you’d only do well if you paid thousands of dollars and this simply is not true. You cannot boost your character with paid items. The in game purchases are for cosmetics or champion purchases, but you can earn cosmetics with Poro coins or random chests from missions. You can unlock champions with blue motes which do not cost any money, you simply accrue them through gameplay. The only frustrating part of LoL is that it is a strategy game, and it’s obvious when noobs are playing and don’t understand the dynamics. Keeping an eye on the map is important. Knowing that if the enemy team kills an epic monster, they will likely make a bee-line to the idiot who decided to overextend themselves in a lane with no turret or team support. If you enjoy strategy and can be understanding that sometimes your teammates wont act like a team— when you do have a strong team it’s addictive. Find online guides that will help with your champion item builds, as the templated item builds are typically not strong enough to hold against an enemy who has a strong item set for their champion. (You earn gold during the match by killing mobs, destroying turrets, and enemy kills or assists. Items purchased in the match only apply to that match and are not permanent purchases)
Great game! It’s league but at the convenience of being accessible at your fingertips. Yeah, there are short comings especially compared to it’s counter part being played on pcs, macs, and other computers. You can’t expect the full experience while being on a phone, but, you still get reactive, real time combat and controls, tons of different characters with their own unique abilities and own influence on the overall strategic play through of 5 versus 5. Game mechanics make it extremely insensitive to players who lose connection or have their own phone die during game, resulting in a disciplinary “time-out,” requiring players to wait until their able to play a match (without any possibility for you to defend the reason behind why the “AFK” happened). Also depending on server maintenance and your own internet ping, you may experience a terrible game simply because you cannot react in time due to time lapse in between members of the match. Lastly, many people say it’s a harsh game on people who pay to play compared to the free to play players. It’s absolutely wrong! LOL has ALWAYS been a free to play game. If you want to look cool and buy a skin then go ahead, but it’s the people who know the mechanics, implement strategy and never even have to pay a dime of RWC that actually dominate this amazing game!
The best way to execute this game in my opinion would be to hold the same game modes as the desktop version on the mobile app. By game modes I mean the draft game mode which was taken out. Now the only way to secure a garuntee spot for playing a position you want is ranked and that is to difficult when your trying to learn a new champion but get destroyed in ranked or trolled on in normal. The ban feature was great excluded since there are few champs but the feature to choose your lane only being in rank is to much. It’s more difficult to play normal games with people who steal your farm and kills and then blame you for being bad despite having a surplus of assist. You also can’t even reply to them because texting on mobile takes a little longer. you might get an afk warning and if it happens multiple times you might get banned for an hour or more. Also this allows people on normal to change there characters last minute ruining the team comp which one has chosen. You can’t exactly report them either since the report is extremely limited in text and so the only way for this to happen is if your team and/or the other team reports them as well. These are the only issues the timeline of the game is perfect for a mobile game that is half of what a desktop game would be. Sadly trolls that like to ditch jg last minute to take their farm impacts the game and your character way more strongly there is less farm so it is somewhat balanced but still impacts gold and exp income.
