2. New Guild System,Unlocked when players reach level 20
3. New Event: New Star Departure
4. New Event: Return to the Battlefield
Initially this game had issues with lack of Stamina. They have resolved that by making it more abundant if you’ve bought, and by sponsoring more events that you can play that allow you to store stamina (the event don’t use it), and still be able to play. It’s a good balance. I’m to getting near the top of the board, and the levels can be grinding. The progression for ranger side is frustrating and very slow to the point of being largely useless. The gear is also largely useless, where you acquire hundreds of pieces of junk gear you will never use. If you decommission it, you end up with a ton of tokens that you will never use to ‘refit’ your gear. I wish there were better ways to enhance what you have, rather than collecting tons of junk, but it is what it is. Overall the game is a good buy for the main game. Expensive, but I’ve been playing it now for a couple of month and it’s still entertaining (mostly due to the events at this point).
One simple rule change would help a lot. That is, no single draw of card offerings should be 100% new towers. There should always be at least one upgrade card in every draw set. Too often in early round, you get a set of cards that are all new towers, but the towers being offered are effectively useless until upgraded to at least level 2 or 3 with card upgrades. At that point you already know there is no way you will keep ahead of the enemies long enough to get some useful defenses set up and instead you just quit the round and start over. Beyond that, I will say this game is fun and keeps me coming back, generally. But it is grindy to the EXTREME. You fight your way through 4 levels in an hour and then hit one of the boss levels and it will be 2 weeks irl until you can level up enough to get past it. Then repeat. I know this is done intentionally to drive people to pay-to-win options, so I’m not holding my breath for it to change. But the balance could be slightly better. It’s so extreme. Also the towers could be better balanced. There are only a handful of towers that are actually worth anything and the rest I avoid like the plague. My ideal load-out: beam, hive, tesla, and disruption field. And then pray I get the good upgrades early enough in the round to have a fighting chance.
The game is hard for a beginner to pick up and start playing just in lvl 1 I only had about 5% of my hp left and it didn’t really help that every thing I did upgrade didn’t help since the moment I got it I would get swarmed by 100 more things to destroy so it made it hard to play with out almost being killed and the 2x speed says it’s unlocks at lvl 2 but no it’s just a way so you buy it even if you get all the best upgrades it makes it insanely hard to survive sure some people like games like that but for a mobile game it doesn’t really work if all your doing is standing still not even having needing to do anything at most you put this on your phone while you do something like playing a different game on pc or console just look over at it once a hour just to see that your dead in about 1 minute from then and even then I just looked and it says the age rating is 4+ who do you expect 4 year olds to even get pass lvl 1 your probably thinking the kid will spend money off of their mom’s card so you get free money even the starter pack from another review says they got stuck back at lvl 5 after buying it and it would take way to long to grind for to get pass the next lvl so good job you made one of the least fun free to play games known to man kind
My two main complaints are about the weapons. First, their placement or shooting angle or direction is random. Sometimes it’s in a good place that does lots of damage while sometimes it’s in a place that doesn’t damage at all. This is not how weapons especially smart weapons work. That are aimed where they will do the most damage possible or close to it. This random fire placement is very frustrating. My second complaint is that the weapons also don’t coordinate their fire power. Sometimes it is redundant and they overlap and other times they just aim with no concern for the placement and strengths of each. So their effectiveness is totally random as well. I done playing it. If they fix these two areas of my concern I’d be happy to play again. Also as aside I don’t favor the random allowance of three items that you can pick from. I want to be able to pick my own initial five weapons of what I like and prefer. Then to build on those.
I've been stuck on the same level for at least a month, playing every day anyway for some reason. I've leveled up my guy and my equipment, added equipment, added rangers, tweaked my load outs again and again. This is pointless. I can barely make it halfway through the level I'm stuck on, and that's only if I get very lucky with my turret pulls. About to give up and uninstall. It's not fun to play the same level over and over and just get stomped. Update: because I'm an idiot/masochist/obsessive, I'm still playing this game. This problem is still a thing; it wasn't just one level. Once you get to a certain point, the difficulty increase between levels is exponential. Also, as neat as the various turret functions are, you almost certainly cannot use them to their full potential. For example, there's something called super mode for each turret. I've had that theoretically available for all my turrets for several months. I've only ever seen it a handful of times, and only for my main guy and one other turret. Honestly if that doesn't change somehow, and soon, that will be the reason I uninstall.
Objectively it’s a decent game BUT like all these games from China they are “Pay to Win”. You have to keep spending and spending and spending to advance. A game is supposed to be fun. Where is the fun in that ??? To literally have to spend many thousands of $ or in some of these games literally Millions of $ to get to top levels. Insanity!! And if that is not bad enough there is Randomness with the game and what you get!! Also like all these other games from China. So then there is an addiction factor! Trust me when I tell you this. I got bait and switched and started playing TopWar 4 years ago, a different game from Rivergames which is another Chinese company and similar where its pay to win. I wound up spending over $450,000 over the 4 years and still not even close to a top player. Literally those top players spend at least 2-3 Million $. So I have to find another game and found this one and been playing it for 1 month and same exact thing. Although doest seem you have to spend that much to advance but still way too much. As many will write u will get stuck on levels and have to spend to get passed them. You have been WARNED!!
The game is fun to start, but as you progress and unlock new turrets, it feels like the towers are not as strong as the should be (considering the level it takes to unlock them). I just unlocked the final turret, the gravity vortex gun. It’s the most underwhelming of all of them. The towers are either not that strong, or are fairly strong and hard to upgrade. One of the main parts of the game is the card system, each wave you beat gives you the choice of one of three new cards. These cards are random and may help, but likely won’t help much. The whole game just feels like it revolves around luck, since if you aren’t lucky enough to get the right cards in the right order during battle, you will lose the battle. I won’t even get into the microtransactions, but a summary would be you’re not getting useful stuff unless you pay for it. That’s all. I give it 3 stars because it’s entertaining at first but falls short in the end.
The game starts off fun, for new players. The initial leveling and towers are great, but the RNG for tower selection is a major drawback. As you level up and unlock more towers, it becomes harder to get the ones you need, making it feel like the game punishes you for progressing. It’s frustrating because you can’t pick the four towers you want to use; instead, you’re at the mercy of RNG, which often leads to not getting the towers you need to beat a level. This makes it impossible to get a perfect run, and the more you level up, the more towers you have, reducing the chances of getting what you need. It feels like the game is purposefully making it harder as you progress. Also, the repetitive ads and expensive pay-to-win model don’t help. Paying $30 for small upgrades or an ad-free experience is crazy, especially when other games offer similar benefits for much less. It’s annoying that leveling up doesn’t make the game easier but instead creates a plateau, making it feel impossible to progress without spending money.
