Our team reads all feedback to make the game better. Please feel free to share your feedback with us or suggest any improvements.
Have fun and train your brain with Crostic!
I am not a native English speaker but I enjoy playing this game a lot and would love to see some improvements such as: - dark mode option - including a manual to explain some things like how some words have a dot next to them and what does that indicate. - explaining how the levels work because its kinda confusing, and even after playing the game for 2 months I don't get it. For example, in the TODAYS GOAL page, why is the top level highlighted, but then we play the bottom level? And why is it called todays goal if the levels never end? Shouldn't it just be numbered levels? Are the levels updated daily or are they always there in the system waiting for ghe player to reach the level? - also, some synonyms just does not make sense at all, I wonder if they get checked by language experts.
This game has a lot of potential. Graphics are simple and uncluttered, so its functionality is smooth. However, with all due respect, if you’re interested in accuracy of definitions written by qualified native English speakers, I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed. Also, the same words are used very regularly, often in 2 or 3 consecutive levels. If you’re just looking for something to kill time, it’s good, but if you’re frustrated by non-native or slightly inaccurate clues, you’ll be disappointed. I’ve written to support about my observations, but haven’t received responses to either e-mail. I’d still like to be optimistic, because, again, the game isn’t bad, and the function is good. They just need to bring a native English speaker with a degree or career in English if they want to achieve respectable quality in the English being used. And, yes, it’s British English, which is fine, except whether British or American English, it still suffers from overuse of the same words and frequently inaccurate use of English, which, as a teacher, editor, and proofreader, specializing in support of non-native English speakers, I can see where the problem lies if you actually notice those details.
Ok, I get it. The developer makes money by showing ads. Example: in candy Crush, you can get free boosters for watching ads from 5 seconds to 30. You don’t have to watch unless you want boosters or lives. (The correct way for successful game apps). On this game I played one round. Then came an ad which was slightly annoying but it was only 5 seconds so okay. Next round, took me about 30 seconds to pass. Another ad BUT this time there was no counter & the ad seemed longer than 30 seconds. I really liked the game so I played another level for less than a minute & another ad. THE AD SEEMED TO BE OVER A MINUTE & before the next level started ANOTHER AD which seemed to be WELL OVER A MINUTE. Review: Played 15-20 sec. 5 sec ad Next played about 30 seconds. An AD THAT SEEMED LONGER THAN 30 Seconds but there was no timer so not sure Next played 45 seconds and TWO ADS played. BOTH SEEMED TO BE OVER A MINUTE & there is no “x” to close the ad even at the end. You have to look all over & wait until it finally appears. NEXT-I took about a minute to write this review & DELETE THE APP. Had I known, I wouldn’t have downloaded to start with. Could’ve been a decent game but it won’t.
Very well made innovative crossword puzzle game! I saw the game being advanced on instagram, and it is just as advertised. I ended up purchasing the game to rid of the constant ads, but it is honestly worth the buy. Im typically not one to leave reviews, or purchase games. But this game is so entertaining, and I love how after you solve the level, you are given extra insight into what trivia the main clue is based in! I probably won’t subscribe to the monthly subscription, because im not an avid crossword fan, but overall I love the game, the developers did a great job on it. If I could give more stars I would, definitely recommend. 10/10!
There is a whole part of this game that I don’t utilize because it requires you to pay for ad free play for each section. I have found no way around this so I just don’t play that part of the game. I paid to have ad-less play but I play this game every day and if I have to pay for each level…I just can’t justifying that expense for a game. I typically play a game for several months and get bored so I switch to another game. This game I have been playing for over a year and I rarely tire of it. I just wish there was an option to play every aspect of this game without investing $$$ or time watching endless ads that feel like they’re longer and longer than they used to be. I also just notice that the streaming confetti doesn’t appear when you’ve finish each puzzle. I really miss that!
Forced ads are automatically an automatic 3-star at best, but they happen after every level on whats essentially a very easy and boring quiz game. Deleted after thirty minutes. Re: developer response: If you're gonna put ads in your game, incentivize players to watch them by offering rewards. DO NOT force players to watch ads after every level, or even at any point in the game. Forced ads are incredibly frowned upon and usually sparks an infinite sea of 1- and 2- star ratings simply because they had to watch an ad for a bad Gardenscapes clone. Also, you should probably have real humans respond to your reviews, not AI bots. It's not really a developer response if the one responding to the review isn't a developer, but a bot made by a developer. Also, AI responses look incredibly lifeless and dull, and also make themselves extremely obvious. They say the same thing to multiple reviews (they usually only have like 5 or 6 coded in responses that they respond to reviews with based on key words, literally one of them is "ad"/"ads" 99% sure lol), say to contact an email, or try to convince you to buy their IAPs when you've already deleted the app. Do not get this game until they've removed the forced ads. Gameplay: Boring Ad Annoyance: Extreme Pop-Up Annoyance: Low Developer Response: Obvious AI Overall: 1.2/5
I enjoyed the game except for a major flaw that spoiled the fun so I deleted the app. This game is designed so that as soon as the puzzle sentence is complete it goes straight to an advertisement, with no opportunity to review the clues. I played three games and solved all three by solving the puzzle sentence instead of the clue words and was very frustrated that I was unable to review the entirety of the fruits of my labor (the filled in clue words) so I deleted the app. If they ever allow for a person to peruse the finished product (puzzle sentence and clue words) in its entirety upon completion, I would play this again. But, as it is currently designed it’s not worth the frustration. In their haste to shove an advertisement in my face they took away the most important part of playing which is enjoying the view of the field of victory. A very poor choice by the developers.
I never leave reviews on games or apps but I had to here. I played one round on this game then got an ad, totally normal. For some tiki solitaire game. No biggie. Not interested in the ad, I let my phone sit for a minute waiting for an option to close the ad to appear. After 2 minutes nothing appeared, so I decided to play along and play the small demo for the game within the ad. After finishing, the screen shifted to suggest I click to download the game from the ad. Not interested, I again let my phone sit waiting for an option to return to Crostic. Again, nothing happened. Defeated, I clicked the option to download the ad game hoping it would make the ad go away and I could resume playing. No luck. Repeatedly for 5 minutes I tried pressing everywhere and anywhere on my screen, but it would only send me to the App Store to download this new ad game. I have never removed a game from my phone so quickly, shame because I felt like this had potential. I have downloaded hundreds of games over the years and this is the first time I have ever given a 1 star review.
