I love word games and this is one of the best word games I’ve come across! Trust, I have tried a copious amount of them but none are as engrossing to me as this gem of a game, right here! Developers you really did an incredible job with this game, I mean that. I rarely ever write reviews. However, there is one nagging thing about this game. The ads are invasive. I think one level I counted 7 ads from start of level until I completed it. The levels aren’t long by any means. 7 ads is unnecessary in my opinion. The ads aren’t optional, they just pop up at random. Although, mainly only once a row of words is arranged correctly. Suggestion, let ads be watched to receive a hint then cut down on the amount that appear during a single level. Or even allow us to have so many levels ad-free for x amount of levels/minutes. I would gladly pay to remove ads permanently but I haven’t yet seen that available. Excellent job developers, you(s) should really be proud!
So I gave it another try. It was going along ok for awhile - the ads, especially the “ad breaks” while working a level - are excessive, but bearable for short periods. However, the “hints” are useless. I’ve only had to resort to them a few times, but each time they’ve just shown me something I already had. Just now I had to sit thru two solid minutes of ads to get a second hint, and it gave me - something else that I already had. RIDICULOUS. There are multiple items to do with food and cooking and I’m sure I’ve put them in every possible combo, and other sets have 3 items and nothing else remotely related, but I’ve tried shifting them around anyway, obviously to no avail. When I came to do this review update there was a game update, so I did that. If it doesn’t do me any good, I’ll be deleting again, as I’m not about to sit thru an hour of ads while it keeps giving me pairings I already have together, and I’m not getting thru this level any other way. tI think this game could be fun but I had to remove it after playing only a few levels because of two issues. One, even tho the sound was supposed to be off, the ads blared out loudly, making it useless in public settings unless using airplane mode. Second, it stuck an ad over one of the rows of words I needed to play and it never moved, rendering the level unplayable.
This game is very easy in the beginning because they want you to play. It quickly becomes challenging and I like that, however, some of the pictograms are very difficult to decipher, so it would be nice if I could “tap” the icons for a definition. Also, some of the clue words are so obscure that I have to look them up, ie tiaga - meaning forest. Am I going to use this again? No! Also, sometimes when trying to match 4 clues, the item to match is not available on the screen. This forces you to match other items first. Also, when matching lines not at the bottom, the game will unmatch other lines not completed when a match at the bottom disappears from the screen after the bottom line is complete. Ads in the middle of game play are soooooo annoying! It breaks your concentration! And yes, I know that ads are so that the game is free, but an ad in the middle of game play and the again 3 seconds later in the middle and then at the end of the level is excessive. Not sure I can keep playing this game. People in other reviews have said that level 140 is “broken” and can’t be completed. Why not fix it? Got to be frustrating!
Let me start off by saying that this app is awesome! My brain function has improved since I’ve started using it exponentially. I’ve learned plenty of new words and my brain likes the challenge! The only downside to this app that I can see is the constant ads. When I say constant, I mean constant. I get an ad when finishing a level, and when I’ve completed 2 rows. There are levels that need over 15 completed rows. To put that into perspective, that’s at least 7 ads per level. 7 ads that I’m forced to watch at least 20 seconds of every time I want to play a level. Now, I went through the reviews for this app. I’m not the only one that believes you guys should tone down the amount of ads and/or give an in-app purchase to buy ad-free. There are plenty of other people who share the same opinion. I also see your replies to them. Every single reply is like auto generated. You don’t seem to have any connection with the customer. Always says that you’re working towards getting ad free, and ads are what keep the game free. What do the creators need in order to make an ad free option? I’d like to play this game without at least a minimum of 7 distractions every time I open it.
I am a huge word/puzzle game player and this game is almost perfect. I have had very similar apps like this one, but they were either too hard or too easy. This game is the perfect in between with some extra fun features (like daily challenges, extended levels, occasional column groups, etc.). The ONLY change I would make to this app is being able to pay a REASONABLE price to get rid of the ads (up to about $10). I have seen other reviews suggesting the same thing, but the developers commented that they are in the process of creating that option. For now, I am thankful that the ads are about every-level to every-other-level, depending on how fast you complete the level. (Unlike a game I had similar to this one where I would get a forced ad after every group I formed).
I am really liking this game (as a new player), and I gave it 4 stars because I think that it could get better. I like the idea of being reminded of things that are categorized together. But if you complete the level; you cannot stay on the page to look at all the completed categories that you figured out. It sends you to the next level really quickly. That being said, I still think this is a great game. I think you can learn from it if you struggle with relating things to each other. I think that it’s a fun way to spend your free time. I think it’s more productive than not, and I think that it’s free entirely at this point. Also I won’t disregard that it is good that you can see the completed categories and look at them while you’re playing a level (until you’ve fully completed it.)^see up there to get a full description. I would 100% recommend this game. I’ll also add that you don’t need to struggle with categorization to find this game entertaining. Hope that anyone that plays sees what I mean :).
The game is great but several things could be better: 1 - a definition bubble. Some words I'm not familiar with (one thing I like about this game as I'm learning more) if there was a feature where you could tap the word and the definition could appear in app that would be helpful. Also for the bubbles that merge into an image if we could tap and be reminded what words created the image that would be cool too. 2 - ads I would pay to not deal with the ad breaks. But also the ads sometimes open to my browser and it's to a spam/virus website like "scanning your computer" I just exit out and go back to the game. But this is happening more and more and I'm not even clicking anything. 3 - completing a level congrats page pops up so quickly sometimes I'm unable to see what the final category gets labeled. It would be nice if we can go back and review completed rounds.
I’m guessing this game is still relatively new, but it’s my new favorite game to play on my downtime. It’s challenging enough to keep things interesting but not so challenging that you instantly wanna give up. It does have ads pretty often which is annoying. They should make an option to purchase a no-as experience. Also, like someone else mentioned, it’d be nice to revisit other levels to see the relationship between words. I hit a stopping point at level 140 where a glitch made a group of words that weren’t alike into a permanent group, leaving h like word left and unmatchable. So I restarted the level, only for the last four words ungrouped, but every other row grouped so there’s no other option. Maybe this is the last developed level and they purposely did that so you wouldn’t progress? I don’t know. Anyway, I like the game for the most part.
