A Top Player’s Quick Review

As someone who played this game for almost 2 years since it dropped on Apple Arcade and recently transitioned to the App Store, I can wholeheartedly say that this is a 10/10 game. Its issues are few and greatly outshined by its positives. The gameplay rarely gets boring and repetitive only once you get closer to the top (above 3000 VP). The art style, designs of the characters and Arenas, and the soundtrack are all amazing and are pleasant to indulge in outside of the core gameplay. The players also have friendly communities on both Reddit and Discord where they join together to discuss the game, and the devs at Red Games Co. seem to be listening and making any changes to the game that players request, so don’t forget to join those. However, being a relatively new game, there is an obvious lack of content, especially when compared to Clash Royale, with there being 71 cards in the game, and the grind to unlock and max out all of them can take years to complete if you play for free, but with enough patience you will unlock everything and the game has to offer. Also, this game is a way healthier alternative to Clash Royale, with only a few bad apples sprinkled here and there, mostly closer to the top of the leaderboard. So, in conclusion, if you’re a fan of Transformers and enjoy Clash Royale’s gameplay without all the toxic and negative stuff, this is the game for you.

Interesting

So after playing for a week, I managed to reach the top 17% (already made it to the Earth City) The gameplay is simple enough for an average player to understand. This is obviously a cross between clash royale and transformers, the only things I would do to make it better would be to add different versions of the characters. For example, a flying ALT version for Megatron (of course it would have to be more than 7 though) would add some dynamics. A version of Optimus Prime with his flying gear would add some dynamic. Pretty much, at this point, you don’t necessarily have to add new cards, but just remixing what you currently have would be able to more than double the amount of options a player has in team selections (I would make it that you are only allowed one version per deck of a single card to prevent people from having 3 different megatrons for balance purposes) I would also add different game modes to show the dynamic of the Transformers world where a player has to fight through an arena that makes it more strategic on both ends (like, if the planet would randomly burst out lava for a specific game mode that affects both sides of the arena) Overall, the game is well done. My biggest addition would be to make variants of the characters you already have, I know for sure that would increase the strategy of this game.

Good alternative for the genre, needs work

It’s another clash royale clone but with robots in disguise. It’s not necessarily pay to win- but it’s absolutely pay to progress. This alone will turn away large amounts of the player base. Can only have 3 boxes at once and only one of each kind at a time. You acquire money VERY slowly, even in the epic chests. Income can be made in ways that won’t push players away, i.e. skins, emotes, etc. The current setup is almost as bad as needing “energy” to play. For example, I’m ranked in top few k of players and am stuck (once you hit league). I’m constantly pit against players with units 3-4lvs above mine, which can barely damage. So I can’t earn more boxes. There’s no alternative modes, no guilds, no replays, no tournaments, etc. So there’s no way to progress or earn it unless you buy it. The units are cool with great diversity, the artwork is nice, but the game play is really fluid. Huge plus for me. The ALT ability for the units is a unique idea that allows a lot of flexibility in decks. I enjoy it, but is really lacking content. It’s a great game that needs to be fleshed out to reach it’s max potential. Good job devs, keep devving! Just remember to reward the ACTIVE players (even the f2p) or they leave and the game dies.

Great game for Transformers Fans

9/10 game (only critique is that I want more new cards added to the game) I am a big fan of the Transformers franchise, especially G1, so I love the graphics. It is a typical 3 tower arena battle game with a small twist. Prime abilities are a very unique mechanic to battles and all 5 are easy to acquire. I am writing this review in hopes that they create more cards because there are so many unique transformers and I would love to see them in game. Especially the Dinobots and Combaticons. I know it would take time but I hope the company sees this review and is working on expanding this cool project! Edit: I totally forgot to mention that you can open victory cheats from battle immediately afterwards! Waiting several hours for a couple of cards and currency is not fun which is why I was so happy when I won a couple of battles and no matter if it was a common, rare, or legendary chest, I could open it immediately. That is another reason that I enjoy this game! Thank you so much for responding Red Games Co.! Just for kicks and giggles, I would love to see Snarl (my favorite Dinobot) and Combaticon leader Onslaught be added to the game. Hope you have a great rest of your day!

Not friendly to new players

I love transformers . Always have since the g1 days . This is like clash royal but with transformers aesthetics . The game is cool the only thing is there’s not a big player base . New players are going to be matched against players who are playing units that are almost 2 levels above yours . I’ve had the game for over a year and every time I come back to it I become disgusted playing against players who are levels above me . But close in ranked points . But they play literally the same characters but whose characters are stronger than mine . Leaving new players with only one option spend money to quickly upgrade or play the game and not have fun at all and just get stomped by players who obviously have been playing the game a long time or who have spent money just to destroy players who are trying to get better. The game doesn’t give enough incentive or gifts to new players to help them level their abilities or characters . It will make you frustrated and just quit the game

Balancing

I’m constantly going against higher levels sometimes 2 or even 3 higher until I turned level 7 and now I’m barely able to win a match because everyone I play against legitimately has a advantage over me because my prime verses another prime with and without support units of my level 7 cards and let’s say their level 8 or 9 ones beat me every time unless they just don’t play or play so bad I can easily win sometimes I play against someone who’s only a level higher and they have maxed out cards when my highest is my actual level and I’ve bought some things with either cash or in game currency to actually level my deck up. It would be a lot better if they added more cards that way not everyone has copy and pasted decks that even if it’s the same deck they’re still gonna be higher level than me unless there is more variety to incentivize people to use more than just the same cards every time and I swear I’m going against mostly pay to win players who’ve done more than buy a little bit of items but anyway good game but they need to actually make it better and not pay to win while adding more variety to the gameplay and strategy part of it instead of just buying all the crates/cards to max out their deck to win instantly.

Cheating game

Update: You Devs need to fix how fast the bar fills. I literally watch someone use 3-4 defensive items vs one of my bots that I drop. I’ve counted they use up to six vs my 1 drop. There’s no way this is balanced. My bots to drop are 4-5 points to use. Their items are 3-4 as well. I might as well go all defensive items and use that instead of bots the whole game. This is why the game cheats in favor of others because the bars do not fill equally. Not to mention everything I use is lvl 9 and they still lose fast to whatever the opponent uses. Definitely the balance is off. Test your own game and see. The game was fun and I’ve been playing forever. However, there is a serious problem when you watch your opponent drop numerous high lvl cards at one time. There is no way you can beat multiple cards of the same thing that are high level attacking all at once. Especially when you meter doesn’t charge as fast. I wish they would let us screen record and post it here for everyone to see. Until the balance is fixed, you will take many losses for no reason. I’m a lvl 9 maxed on everything and a lvl 7 will beat me. And yes I do know how to play. The game essentially forces you to lose this way. Wish they actually let the players decide the win.

fun, but horrible matchmaking and too much loss

This game is really fun and definitely addicting, but I see myself getting extremely mad at it almost every round I play. Firstly, the matchmaking is horrendous, I’m getting matched against people above my level with all their bots at level 9, which I simply can’t beat. And this feeds into my second nitpick, I can barely scrape through and win 4 rounds in a row, just for each to only give 10 points, and then 1 loss to bad matchmaking launches me all the way back down to 0. Overall, I believe the matchmaking should also consist of the bot levels to even it out more, as anyone can buy the supply crates from the shop to climb up, I also believe that losing before you’re in the prime leagues should NOT result in such a huge loss, with how difficult the game can be, I’d recommend making it 0 loss, and lowering the loss in the prime leagues a little. But like I said, the game is really fun, I just strongly believe these things should be fixed, because the longer this goes on, the more I’m backed into deleting the game out of rage.
