Super Auto Pets is a chill, free-to-play auto-battler where you build a team from a cast of adorable animals with unique abilities. In each turn, you'll draft pets from the shop, feed them food to buff their stats, and then send them into battle against other players' teams. There’s no timer, so you can strategize at your own speed. With two different game modes and regular updates, the tactical possibilities are endless.

92/100

Super Auto Pets is proof that you don't need complex 3D graphics to create an incredibly deep and addictive strategy game. This 'auto-battler' is all about the 'draft'—choosing the right animals and food to build a team that can outlast others. The emoji-style art is charming and deceptive; underneath that cute exterior lies a competitive beast where one wrong placement can end your run.

What I love is the lack of a ticking clock. You can take as long as you want to plan your turn, making it a perfect mobile game for commuting or multitasking. The meta-game is constantly evolving with different 'packs' of animals, ensuring that there’s always a new strategy to master. It’s fair, funny, and has that 'just one more round' quality that defines the best of the genre. Whether you're a casual player or a strategy vet, it's a must-play.

Easy to get into, sky’s the skill limit

At the beginning, the mechanics are quite simple. It’s interesting how you can come up with more complex synergies with specific pets or foods, and the options are quite diverse with hundreds of pets and a considerable amount of variety in food. There is an rng aspect to the rolling, some games are simply unwinnable for even the most seasoned veterans, but they don’t occur often if you know what you’re doing and can adapt. Many of the bad reviews on here references how some specific pets are overpowered(hippo mostly), and how they are having trouble. This game however is a strategy game at its core, and not relying on one single strategy to win is essentially the majority of people’s problem. Again however, some games are unwinnable no matter what, and losing several games in a row even when not playing verses games can be frustrating, so their anger is not unreasonable. If you consider yourself a lucky person, you’ll have a more easy time getting into this game then those that are the reverse.

I’ve been playing this game for years. I’ve shown many friends, and a lot of them have laughed at me - mainly because the UI of the game looks very child-friendly. I don’t really care about that though, I think they’re cute and it makes for some of the game’s aesthetic. I also know that this game is incredibly difficult, which is the main fun in it. I have about 80% of the animals with Level 3 wins. My one and only complaint is that with every expansion pack, the prices have gone up.. $10 for the mythical pack was one thing, since I was waiting for so long, but to ask for another $10 DLC? Nah. I’m good. I thought $5 was reasonable, and I would definitely support the devs if it was prices at such - but not another $10. If they’re trying to make up for the lack of players by asking for more, I can get that… But you lost me. I have purchased every other pack except for the newest “Danger” pack. I love the concept, and maybe if half of the proceeds were donated to endangered animals, I’d definitely pay for it since I would feel like I’m supporting both the devs and the endangered animals they included in the pack.. But not when it’s taken so many months to update, so long to come up with packs, and for this price increase. Almost $40 to unlock all the packs is nuts. Fun game otherwise. Just play the weekly and you’ll be fine.

Pay to win? Nerf the Ai.

Although super auto pets is a good game, I have yet to get a single win in the game. I have reason to believe that the game is somewhat pay to win which makes it even worse when you realize children play the game and it is built for many ages. Think about how much money you will make off of children? Nothing. I will give a second review if I actually manage to win a game. For starters I’m thinking you should nerf the other players in the arena(and if they are Artificial Intelligence, you should nerf them so they don’t become impossibly powerful at the end of the game). I play games that make it possible to win. You won’t get play time if no one can win. I apologize for the inconvenience. I personally like the game design and the gameplay. The art is perfect for children and the way the design works is perfect. The only problem is the arena mode has no way to win. If the Ai is as nerfed as it can be, giving players a buff will usually help. If you want an idea, might I suggest boss fights. At the final round of each game, have an opponent that is stronger and more likely to encourage players to use as many buffs as possible to defeat the boss.

fun, easy to get into, and adorable

Do you love cute animals? Do you love fun, engaging games with cute animals? What if I told you there is no time limit, and although you are battling aginst other players online, you can put down the game at any time and come back and keep your place? If you've never heard of an auto battler before, fear not! Super auto pets is extremely approachable and easy to learn. It's both super exciting and chill at the same time. Almost everything you can buy with $ you can also buy with in game points that you earn by playing matches. The only purchase-only component is an expansion pack, but I played the free-to-play pack for months before feeling the need to get the expansion. I can not reccomend this game highly enough. Perfect for killing time in between errands or while waiting, or you can play it for hours at a time in a row- it's super adaptable. can you tell i love this game?!?!?

This game used to be one of my boyfriend and I's favorite games. We would spend hours playing it together and it was so much fun. Nowadays, finding a full server to play against each other and random people is almost impossible. Ever since the pack with the mythical animals and cryptids were added, it doesn't feel the same and it's so difficult to play in general. The new packs cost so much money and the weekly packs feel like they have very little thought put into them due to how completely random they seem. Not to mention playing the regular packs is difficult cause you always play against teams that have won the game, and players have perfected their teams so much at this point and there's only so many setups you can use to combat others and win. Overall it just feels very repetitive and I deeply miss the way the game was in 2022 before all the big changes. There's still good aspects of the game though if you're just playing against one other person, and sometimes the weekly packs can be fun and allow you to try other animals you probably wouldn't be able to play with unless you spend money.

Fun for a while

It’s fun until you realize that entire premise is based on RNG and it’s like a slot machine. The matchmaking is terrible with the new update and the new pets are needlessly complicated. I’ve lost battles in the higher tiers to people who get good rolls BEFORE THE FIGHTING STARTS. Looking back there are a lot of complaints about this from the beta but the dev doesn’t seem to care. Terrible balance and 99% luck based with 1% decision based. If I put you up against anyone in a cooking competition and give you nothing but bird crap to cook with but give the other person the finest cut of filet it doesn’t matter how you cook it, you are still going to left with crap while they have steak. The game is over before your strategy develops most of the time because you spend your coins on rolls instead of buying what you need. You can roll and roll and roll but chances are the pet you need isn’t going to show up. Too many useless pets that no one even uses in a game where luck and meta is everything. The base game used to be alright until the “fixes” but now your time is better spent somewhere else. Pity because I actually bought the two expansion packs and now I wish I wouldn’t have. Even for a free game don’t waste the space on your phone and go play something else. You’re only going to find disappointment here and you’re going to beat yourself up wondering why everyone else is better only to realize when you finally do win that it wasn’t you all along, it was the stupid roll system that screwed you over. I used to win a lot of matches before this last update and now I’ve had one win in about 100 games. Update: Absolutely trash of a game. After I wasted money buying all the expansions and everything I finally realized what it really is and uninstalled it. The matchmaking is terrible.

NOT a strategy game!

This game masquerades as a strategy game when it is actually about 20% strategy and 80% purely an RNG game of luck. There is a bit of strategy involved with how you arrange your units, I will give it that, but the rest is solely up to the algorithm RNG gods smiling upon you in giving you the units you’ve chosen to go with. More often however it will not give you what units you’re looking for. You have to play whatever units the shop chooses to throw at you and you will have a better chance with that strat rather than hoping to get the ones you really want. If you keep rolling for a certain unit you’re looking for, you most likely will not see it so play what it gives you as you have zero control over that where as a true strategy game you have a lot more control over the units you’ve chosen to play. Out of 1,022 games played I’ve one 29. That’s about a 3% win rate if you do the math. While other players do have a better win rate I’ve read from a lot of people that there’s is worth than that. Fun at times if you get good units, otherwise you will be more often just frustrated to no end wanting to smash your phone to pieces!

frustrating and luck based, addicting like gambling

Game is really addicting and fun, I could sink hours into easily. I love strategy games but I hate these strategy games that are 50% skill and 50% luck. No matter how good you play or how smart you are you’ll always be at the mercy of getting the right animals. I’ll create a solid deck that stream rolls until 6-7 wins, after I get there all the animals in the shop are unrelated forcing you to waste gold on rolls wasting turns and making it impossible for you to win because you’ll face someone who didn’t have that issue. Or you won’t get a good animals to build a team around until like turn 7-8 and by then you’re so far behind it doesn’t matter. Other times times I’ll get three-four animals within 2 turns and then go 7 turns without getting another, decide to sell and then get two of the animal I needed in the shop. Game is fun in the same way gambling is fun, the odds aren’t in your favor and don’t expect skill to be enough to win, you’ll always be at the whim of the shop and the shop won’t do you favors.
