This a very refreshing spades game. No gimmicks; just original spades and really great music. The scoring layout is clear with an option for more details. Feels like it’s game night a friend’s house with great jazzy piano background music. (bring your own snacks) Glitches: 1. a partner should never cut your winning play by playing a spade! Argh! 2. The music gets stuck in a repetitive loop after certain ads. Fortunately, it seems to be self-repairing before the next hand begins. Side note: why are people complaining about the ads between hands? How do they think developers get paid for their work? Maybe an option to purchase an ad-free version would shush the noise.🤓

I opted this spades game since its been years and really enjoyed it for several weeks, but then it started to freeze up or kick me out. Also, despite someone saying almost no ads, however when a new game started, usually a ad popped up, before you can get in game. Got so tired I deleted it. So sad since I enjoyed it, too frustrating (note, there is no way, even after clicking on settings, no support, no email developers etc, apparently they would rather NOT hear from consumers. Very SAD

Too Many Freaking Ads

I don’t know what game the person who said that there weren’t too many ads was playing, but it clearly wasn’t this one. This is a very well made Spades game, but the ads are nearly constant! Worse, there are two different kinds of ads: one that merely interrupts your game with a 30 second video, which really aren’t too bad (even though they do make you click through 3 or 4 screens before you can actually get out of the ad. It is the second kind of ad that ruins the game though. There is a little banner ad on the bottom of the screen, not a problem in itself. About every 30-45 seconds, the game opens up your web browser and automatically takes you to the advertised site. It makes the game completely unplayable. And, therefore, it gets one star. Delete!

My AI partner pulls some stupid moves. Saves ace and king for last tricks instead of playing them to draw out opponents trump. The system has AI players written to alway play a higher card. For example, playing a queen when they have a lower suit card and the king has not yet been played. My partner often over bids to the point that I often subtract a point from my bid to make up for their over bid. Also the AI partner often bids one when they should play nil. My AI partner Ican be frustrating so I leave the app and play something else. I like that you can view cards played and cancel the game (because your partner played stupid.)

Overall I really like this game. Ads are predictable and fair. Game play is simple and straightforward. My only complaint is that they make it more difficult as you level up by making your Ai partner a complete moron. I spend more time now trying to guess how I can offset their mistakes than playing my own hand. Examples: 1) it is suddenly not unusual for Ai to bid like 5 and only get 2. That’s crazy. 2) Multiple times where they get 0 but bid 1 or 2. Frustrating bc Ai rarely goes NIL. 3) When I’m NIL my own partner sinks me more often than the competition. Ai will throw out a 3 of something when they have a face card in hand.

I win 99% of the time

Not because I’m an amazing spades player and definitely not because of an amazing partner…. I win because I know exactly what the bots are going to do. Once you figure out the pattern you’ll always win too. They updated a couple months back and it only took a dozen or so games to figure out the new pattern. For example, your teammate will never throw off unless it’s a spade when trying to bust your opponent’s nil, but your opponent’s will throw off. They don’t play like humans. Make the bots play like real people and make score keeping more game like, I don’t know, add tiers or something.

Helpful for improving game & fun to play…

There aren’t an excessive amount of ads which is refreshing. And, thankfully, I haven’t been bombarded with requests to make “in app purchases,” which really upsets me. I haven’t played Spades in a long time & wanted to practice so I can improve my game, which this app has been great for. What’s nice, though, is that once you’re comfortable with how you’re playing, you can change the settings to remove the hints & see how well you can play without help. So far, I’m really enjoying this game.

I really enjoy playing ….. but when your partner over bids & if I bid nil he seams to use only low cards .. the other players are very aggressive I just want to play as I like this game .. and as I guess it’s the computer glitch … I just want to win & lose some I don’t like being in a competition … it does keep score .. so why does the computer give me all low cards & 1 spade .. I just finished a game could not go nil as I had 1 ace .. and all low cards .. if I get lucky I get a few aces .. but the computer over rides the other player & uses a ace when they have the same card …. Come on let just have a fair fun game please
