Game flow improved
Slender Threads is a masterclass in atmospheric storytelling. As Harvey, you enter Villa Achille and immediately feel a sense of dread that never quite leaves you. The hand-drawn art style is gorgeous in a macabre way, and the voice acting really sells the town's eccentric and often terrifying residents. It’s a point-and-click adventure that respects the player's intelligence without being unfairly obtuse.
The narrative is the real star here. It’s dark, surreal, and genuinely surprising. Unlike many mobile thrillers, the pacing is excellent, and the environmental puzzles feel like they actually belong in the world rather than just being arbitrary roadblocks. If you are a fan of Twin Peaks or classic LucasArts adventures, this is a must-play experience that will stick with you long after the credits roll.
Cinematic 2D art style
Deep, unsettling mystery story
Fully voiced dialogue
Challenging environmental puzzles
Talk to every character multiple times. New dialogue options often appear after you have found specific items or visited certain locations in town.
Combine items in your inventory to create tools. The town of Villa Achille is full of mechanical barriers that require creative solutions to bypass.
Yes, 'Slender Threads: Prologue' is available as a free standalone chapter to experience the start of the journey.
Wish I would’ve known that you can pay to get rid of the ads when I first started playing. It took me finally clicking the ticket thing to see what it was to then get the ability to buy the whole game and not have ads.
This game really spoke to my inner child.. just enough “creepy murder mystery,” but on a Goosebumps/ Scooby-Doo level. No worries of jump scares, no threat of ‘dying’ or losing your progress, no real risk of even making a wrong choice! & the way the map opens up to reveal new & colorful locales.. awakens a youthful sense of wonder. Clever. Cute. No complaints. [I know some ppl have griped about the “ticket” structure, but.. Come ON! I personally cannot think of an alternative that is so equally beneficial to both seller AND player! I, for one, do NOT have any disposable income; i cannot & WILL not spend $ on games (i dont even have any streaming svcs for tv or movies!). Zero. Without some sort of ad revenue, i’d likely never be granted the opportunity to play this game. So, by ‘watching’ a whole 30 sec ad, i get to purchase another 300 sec of game time? AND the ads aren’t forced in at inopportune times- I get to choose?! Great deal! 👍]
Honestly, after playing the entire series of nobodies, one thing I loved about this game is that it runs on nobodies style of puzzle solving, it’s reasonable, no weird obscure or out of Normal comprehension puzzles that a lot of puzzle games do, everything is logical and solvable to anyone with a sharp mind, which makes blyts studio iconic to me for making good quality puzzle games. I love the mild references to nobodies and asset 1080 with how he talks when you use an item that isn’t usable, I am dying to see another release of nobodies soon, but this game is a nice fresh story for the wait.
Really enjoyed the game, great art and characters. I liked the whole atmosphere of the town and storyline. I have to give it 5 stars because there aren’t many point and click adventures games on iOS that can beat this. A very strong recommend. Pros: Writing Art Atmosphere Lots of interesting characters and locations The map for fast movement Puzzles that really fit that classic game style (win a flower competition, get expired ketchup packets, etc) Cons: *Still felt like 2 acts out of 5. *Most characters and locations served barely one purpose to the story, seemed like missed potential to create the interesting character and all the art just for a 30 second puzzle. *The puzzles were pretty easy, the only time I was stuck was when I didn’t know the next objective. Since this was clearly aimed at a slightly older audience I would expect more difficult puzzles.
What am I doing wrong? Try to play but after 3 minutes it’s asking me to watch an ad for more tickets (not even out of the hotel wing). I had to watch 4 ads - couldn’t exit out of the ad and had to restart the app. Rewatch ads and got to play another few minutes (making it out of the hotel) before it asked me to buy tickets or watch more ads. Looks like a fun game but one you need to purchase to have fun or follow the plot. Maybe allowing people to play 20-30 minutes would incline more people to play and or persuade a purchase.
Idk why this game doesn’t have better ratings. It’s pretty close to perfect. Great voice acting, funny characters, interesting storyline and challenging but not obscure puzzles. It’s super long too. There are a lot of ads, but it’s well worth the money to remove them imo. Brilliant game!
Now a days they call anything “point and click” this one is actually a traditional point an click adventure game and it’s fantastic
Man bruh this is a good game but why make it where people have to waste their precious time on watching ads or pay for more time to play, you should’ve made it where the tickets regenerate over time when they deplete. I like this game so far but the tickets are a deal breaker for me.
