This version introduces performance improvements and bug fixes.
Oceanhorn 2 is essentially the 'Breath of the Wild' for mobile devices, and it lives up to that lofty comparison remarkably well. The transition from the top-down perspective of the first game to a full third-person 3D world is handled with incredible finesse. Gaia is a world that feels lived-in, filled with secrets hidden behind every waterfall and cliffside.
The combat system feels responsive, and the addition of AI companions adds a layer of depth that keeps the journey from feeling lonely. I particularly loved the Caster Gun mechanics; it's a refreshing take on the 'magic' system that integrates perfectly with the game's mechanical-fantasy aesthetic. If you're an Apple Arcade subscriber, this is the definitive 'must-play' title that justifies the subscription cost on its own.
Epic RPG main quest spanning 20+ hours
Massive boss fights and dozens of side quests
Clever environmental puzzles and mysterious dungeons
Beautiful handcrafted graphics and 60fps performance
The Caster Gun is your primary tool for both combat and puzzle-solving. Experiment with different projectile types to trigger switches or exploit elemental weaknesses in enemies.
Use contextual commands to direct your companions, Trin and Gen, in battle. They can help you distract bosses or stand on pressure plates to solve complex environmental puzzles.
It is a prequel, set 1000 years before the events of the original Oceanhorn.
This game is very impressive, especially for being released without many bugs and glitches, but there are still issues to be improved upon. For example, cutscene animations are poor and look rushed, while combat and movement animations are great. Also, I love the new combat because of how much more advanced it is than the second game. Graphics are great and story is ok. Other than that, the game is good and has a lot of potential. Keep adding major updates cornfox!
This game was kind of a disappointment when I got it when I got it. There was a few things I slept wrong Oceanhorn 2. It was great. It was easy to access the shield and it was just required the amount of skill and it was simple and you could get through it it required amount of scale that you feel like you could do it in this game when you die. If you get hit once you’re dead immediately in Oceanhorn 2 you when you died, you got you started with two you started over with two vibes and when if you’re just in the mobs that used to be easy to defeat and Oceanhorn 2 are now the so much harder and I don’t think this is a very good this is for the people who have made this game people who have made this game. I recommend when people die. Don’t give them a little bit of a life cause if they just get hit once they’re dead and that makes them super angry, angry and also don’t make it flash and ding when they’re at low health that’s just annoying and that’s a dumb thing you added in two make them start out with two lives when they die and don’t make the monsters super hard cause it’s just not as fun as Oceanhorn 2 I reckon I’d rather play Oceanhorn 2 and play this game. I bet this game has a great storyline and stuff but there’s a few things I need. I want child to know so y’all can fix sincerely Henry Huggins.
You can lose Tarock cards now? It feels like a waste of time trying to play if your cards can get depleted. Especially when the coin flips seem to favor the opponent. After multiple rounds, not a single coin flip has gone in my favor. If I were playing against a real opponent, it would make sense to give over a card after losing. This is just going to waste more time than it’s worth. So far the rest of the game is fun, but it seems like there are already more time wasting mechanics that only serve to pad the overall playtime. If I feel differently after a few more hours, I’ll amend my comment. So far, I’m getting the impression that this game is designed to artificially lengthen the playtime through unnecessary resource chasing.
I’ve never written a review before but for this I HAVE to. I was NOT prepared for AAA quality coming into this one. I genuinely had no idea that a game like this was possible on a phone. I had played Oceanhorn the original way back in the day, but this game is on another level. Its not perfect, some bugs and the optimization isnt great but its completely ignorable. Play this game. You wont regret it.
In this day and age, how in the world is any decent game designer relying on a storyline with sentences that talk about a female character who was “such a tomboy“ she could actually compete with all the boys! Every piece of the storyline the game gives is exactly like that, talking about the main characters mother who was so tomboyish she could actually do all the things all the boys could do. I’m only a little way into the game, but so far the entire storyline is some of the most tired unimaginative rehashed dreck, appealing to 10-year-old girls and maybe junior high age boys. If the entire game applies the same intelligence that the writing does, it’s going to be awful.
Ive been playing both oceanhorn games for a while and loved both of them and this one does not disappoint. Some awesome new mechanics and great gameplay with an amazing combat system. I can foresee this being one of the best Apple Arcade games (as long as we don’t count all the games that already exist such as dead cells or vamp surviver lol)
This is based off the first 5 to 15 minutes of gameplay. This is a HOME RUN for those who have enjoyed the OceanHorn series. It continues the love letter to the Legend of Zelda. Just sit back and enjoy the fun and forget trying to be a critic. There is enough stress in life and this game is a nice escape. Thank you to the developers
The game is great, and I am really enjoying it. There have been a couple of frustrations, and the developers are definitely still polishing a rough edge or two, but the experience is everything I was hoping for to move past 1 and 2.
