The Maestro is back!
• The original Maestro returns
• Minor improvements and fixes
Playing this game is an exceptional experience! There are a lot of apps that take 2 things and put them together, but I never would have imagined classical music and a rhythm game. The gameplay is pretty easy—swipe the direction of the arrows while they are over the box. After a while it becomes hypnotic and you feel like you are in control of the little pixel orchestra. The style is very much in tune with modern rhythm games but this one feels more relaxed. It could be the pace and the fact that you are playing to classical music. My favorite track is the Rachmaninov piece. As a classical music fan, I'm glad the selection isn't just the ultra popular classics. I would like to hear more lesser known composers. The Chopin tune is amazing too. The art is the other thing I love about this game! The pixel art reminds me of the games I grew up playing with my brother. Those chunky pixels bring me back to a time when games required you to use a little imagination to fill in the spaces. The animation of the little musicians are cute and I almost jumped when they started disappearing! I hope there are more songs in the future and possibly some new challenges. The music is amazing! Most of the tracks are pretty piano heavy with chip tune elements sprinkled in. I recommend this game to anyone that is into classical music and old school games. I enjoyed it both on Apple TV and iPad. I look forward to seeing the games future development. Thank you!
The music in this game is incredible. I’m not usually much of a gamer but I really enjoyed this one. The swiping makes it feel like you are actually playing the music. I was able to get 3 stars on all of the levels without breaking too much of a sweat. Sometimes I’ll miss a note because I’m just listening to the songs. It would be nice to listen to the music without having to play the game too. Maybe after you beat the level the song could unlock the song to play like a jukebox. I really liked the artwork too. All the characters are super cute. I didn’t play the purchased stages but there is still a lot here for free. I hope they add more free songs in the future too. There also aren’t many ads which can be a major turn off on other games. If you like rhythm games I’d definitely recommend checking this one out.
I’m not usually much of a rhythm game fan but this one is really fun. The game is pretty easy and relaxing to play. The songs are all classical music which adds to the serenity. I’d recommend playing this games with headphones on—the soundtrack is amazing! I really like the retro looking graphics too. The retro style is played to death in a lot of games these days but this one seems to pull it off well. If I had to change something I’d make more levels available to play for free but it still gives a nice preview of what the rest of the game is like. If you like rhythm games and classical music this is definitely worth trying out. I’d like to play the other songs at some point but I’m still mastering the first set. I look forward to seeing more updates in the future and possibly more songs.
I am not a fan of rhythm games. Games like OSU! are too intense for me, and I don’t want to put in hours of work to master games like that. This is singlehandedly the greatest rhythm game I have ever played. It’s simple, but complicated enough and demands enough focus to keep your attention. Also unlike other games the difficulty of the levels correlate nicely with their respective difficulty settings, and there aren’t any huge leaps in skill required from one to another. The OST is beautiful as well, there was thought put into the song choices. I like the graphics; in terms of art, the game reminds me of “Oh…Sir! The Insult Simulator” in the way that it is a bit silly looking but comes off as endearing and still maintaining the “seriousness” of an orchestra setting
I played a lot of rhythm games and since 2015 only one stuck with me and that’s Groove Coaster 2. I decided to give this game a try while looking for rhythm games and most are meh. Many tap/swipe rhythm games have the same kind of music usually kpop, jpop, techno, edm...you get the idea. But I seen classical and was like..how? So I downloaded it and the midi work in incredible! So many great compositions and well done 8bit art, I literally was blown away on how cool this game is. I paid the $1.99 to get everything after playing the free songs. I hope this developer adds more songs etc. One I would love to hear added is Vivaldi: Concerto for Lute 2 violins and Continuo in D major. Great game worth 5 stars!!!
This is a unique little game and I really enjoy the combination of 8-bit plus classical music. Can't say I've seen anything on the app store like this before. Offers a good amount of pieces for free and for a tiny price (yay support the developer!) you can play a lot more songs. One bug I just discovered today happens if you have a timer running in the background. When it dings and you close it to resume the game, the song will indefinitely pause. It doesn't close you out but just shows the orchestra waiting for more notes until you quit and start over. Other than that I've encountered zero issues.
This game is really fun 100%, but I think the addition of a difficulty above hard mode, like challenge mode would be a great addition to the game. I feel as if I can pass every hard difficulty song for the free to play section with only 1 or 2 misses, and I believe that a harder difficulty would add a great challenge and more fun to the game already. Also, I think that there should be more free to play songs available, but I understand. But either way this game is a masterpiece regardless.
So i bought the 1.99 for bo ads and all songs I'm still getting ads but thats not really the problem for the second guy who plays the music in the Minecraft theme i tried to play the songs it just gave me three stars and let me go through each lvl pls fix this <3 edit. I dont think it got fixed but beethoven on hard gets me confused because playing so fast for 5 mins make me kinda dizzy and makes me lose focus still very fun
