Kairosoft has done it again with Dream Park Story. As a veteran of their simulation games, I can confidently say this is one of their most charming entries. Managing an amusement park requires a delicate balance of layout efficiency and aesthetic appeal. The pixel art remains top-notch, and the addition of seasonal mascots and social media feedback adds a modern layer to their classic management formula.
The progression feels incredibly rewarding. Starting with a single teacup ride and eventually expanding into massive themed zones like the Space or Snow zones keeps the 'just five more minutes' loop alive. The depth of research for new attractions ensures that you are constantly working toward a new goal. It’s a wholesome, addictive, and deeply satisfying tycoon experience that fans of the genre shouldn't miss.
Classic Kairosoft pixel art
In-depth facility research
Social media feedback system
Seasonal mascot scouting
Themed park zones
Focus on signing mascots early to unlock themed zones like the Desert or Snow zones. Use the points earned from successful parades to research high-thrill attractions and keep your social media rating high by responding to visitor needs.
Players can drag and drop rides, shops, and decorations. Expanding the grounds via the construction company allows for larger-scale attractions. Managing the flow of customers and placement of facilities is crucial for maximizing profit.
Yes, Dream Park Story is a premium title that can be played entirely offline once downloaded.
I cant upgrade to a 2 star park because the “special zone” requirement wont complete. Yet i have the ghost mascot and the haunted house zone up to level 4. Either the explanation for “special zone” is very wrong haunted house isn't count for some reason or some other bug is going on. Edit:its not bugged its just that for whatever reason the haunted house is treated as a “large attraction” instead of a “zone” even though everything else about it is the same. Enjoying the game otherwise a good addition to the lineup.
Compared to their last installment, Forest Park Story, Dream Park Story feels odd. While they do have quite a lot of customization with rides and zones. It feels a bit clunky compared to progression of Forest Park. It’s far easier to lose money, and some things that should be explained to you aren’t. Such as homes for your mascots. I didn’t realize at first that you build these “homes” inside greater attractions. Such as Spooky getting a “petting zoo” in the haunted house. Requests to expand your go-karts and zip line are beginners traps that will lose you money if you go for them too soon. You also cannot freely move staff houses so please be careful where you place them. It certainly has a lot of charm and a lot to offer. Yet more mechanics doesn’t always mean great game. The zone system is especially confusing and first time players may find themselves starting over because they suddenly lose too much money too quickly. I do enjoy that you can customize longer rides like roller coasters, go kart tracks, and more to your heart’s content in terms of length and sometimes height. The mascots, while confusing, are cute. The game very much has that trademark Kairosoft charm. It’s a fun game, but finds itself muddled by confusing systems that keep it from being a hit.
I’ve become obsessed with kairosoft games for at least a year now. Started with Dream Town Story; led to hot springs 2, forest camp story, pocket academy, and now Dream Park Story. I always think of minor tweaks for games, and the only one I can come up with for this one is: a move option for things built on the walkways.
It feels slightly more complicated at first compared to their other games, but you appreciate it a lot more as you play! Many new features unlock as you go on throughout the game that let you customize your park a lot more than I expected
I really enjoy this game much like the others. But I like that I can create an amusement park. I’m on my first play through right now and looking forward to my next strategy on my next play through.
Another major hit from Kairosoft - once you start playing you won’t be able to put it down. My only complaint is that the controls are a bit clunky - I felt navigating around the screen was a bit off. That being said still a really fun game.
I really love this game, but there are bugs. The reviewers often say they’re coming to see something, but don’t leave a review. It’s really annoying. After a while (4-5) it’s nearly impossible to level up your mascots. That said, the game is amazing, and really enjoyable.
I'm a huge fan of Kairosoft and love this game! I took me a while to truly get into and figure out a good layout, but once I did, I was set! I would LOVE if they turned the Christmas and Faith zone into a full game!

A while back, I took a look at Kairosoft's Zoo Park Story, my first review of one of the publisher's offerings in several years.

Dream Town Story, developed by Kairosoft, is a unique city-builder with brilliant mechanics. The game looks simple at first, but it gets very exciting once.
