Add’s or Pay, you choose.

So I get the developers need to make money on the games they develop and they do this by showing add’s or letting the players purchase an add free experience. This developer must have gone severely over budget because it is an add weed garden in here. Open game>add. Choose any icon>add. Play game for a short few minutes>5 coin add break, repeat. Have to leave the game screen to answer a call or text & come back>add. Heaven help you if you decide to look at all the icons on the home page as there will be an add after tapping each one & you get no reward for watching them. At least the forced add breaks get you 5 in game coins and you can get rewards from certain icons in game when you choose to watch the add—you just might have to first watch an agh to get to the screen where you can choose to watch the add for a reward. And this is a shame because the game is kind of relaxing without being boring. But I can’t see anyone really enjoying it unless they first fork out for the “add free experience” at which point I guess you only watch adds per choice for the rewards??? Not sure, while it is only $5US it is not an option I have chosen to try as I wanted to review the fully unpaid experience & I am honestly not sure I will be keeping the game. Once you make a first purchase in a game it is really easy to justify another one & then you’re in it $50 before you realize. And the game might be $5 fun but it is really not more than that.

Greedy

I loved this game when I first downloaded it, hated the ads though. So I bought the app to get rid of the ads and that's when I noticed the game changed. It was no longer a simple puzzle game. It started giving me pieces I couldn't put anywhere over and over and over again so you have no choice but restart the match. You'd use up all your in game money to move pieces around and have to restart anyway because the game just keeps giving you impossible pieces to play. I understand each level gets more difficult but I know what i'm experiencing is just greed plain and simple. I bought the game therefore there's no more money coming from all those ads so they make it now that you have to spend your real money to get anywhere in this game. At least make the help tools restart back at 0$ once you get a new cake. Like how big and greedy can you possibly be. My god. Oh and the fortune wheel ? RIGGED. I get it everyone's gotta eat, it's just lame and it's not as fun anymore. You can't even empty your piggy bank now if you buy the "no ads" without spending real money what is that??? It's lame and it should be fixed or don't even have the option to get rid of ads. It's a scam to get you locked in to buy and spend money on a puzzle game. Big L for loser. Returning to my review to emphasize how the fortune wheel no matter where you tap it, it gives you 60 coins. No matter what which is rigged??

90% just watching ads

This game would be fun if the monetization was less aggressive. I’m very willing to pay for games but the amount they charge for various aspects of the game is outrageous for what it is. The last time I look it was $8 to get rid of ads forced upon you during gameplay (which is roughly every 1–2 minutes if you play fast) but it keeps all ads for everything else. You need to pay extra on a regular basis to not watch any ads. And the ads are long and very invasive. They require interaction to even trigger the ability to dismiss them. And many of them will repeatedly open the open the App Store to try and force you to download the app advertised. Just as an example, I paid $10 for a much more involved end well developed mobile game a few months ago with ZERO ads. I also paid around that much for another mobile game that gets regular updates and is also much more involved and complicated to develop. Both of these were RPGs with much better graphics and highly complex game mechanics. This is just a puzzle game and they’re charging more if you factor in the ads and other micro transactions. The game itself is pretty fun but I had to delete it. There are other ad driven games that are not nearly as aggressive or invasive.

Disappointed

So I loved this game at the beginning, enough so that I paid for no ads, but the more I play the worse it gets. It seems like once you pay for no ads, they make you watch ads to get stuff that you didn’t have to before. For example, now that I’ve been playing for a while, the bonus rounds, which you unlock by getting points in the main level and used to be free to play, require me to watch an ad to play a level that I earned by playing… The developers reward you for your purchase to stop forced ads by forcing you to watch ads to unlock previously free content. Another thing that’s changed the more I play is the way the cakes move around the board. Oftentimes, when I place a cake, they don’t actually merge all the slices, leaving multiple plates instead of combining them. It’s almost as if they are forcing you to buy the booster tools, which cost a lot more than your coins accumulate. The whole thing is just designed to make you watch more ads (which to be clear I have NO problem doing in general, just not when it’s to play levels that were free to play before I purchased the no ads thing) and spend more money, which is so disappointing because I used to really enjoy the game.

DONT DOWNLOAD!! wish I knew..

DO NOT LISTEN TO GOOD REVIEWS, the ads are not short, these developers are absolute scammers and they know it! HOW TO SKIP ADs: I’m posting this so these scammer developers have to put actual work into their app, hopefully more ppl do this and then they’ll have to actually spend time on their game to prevent this - close the game when an ad pops up and then you open it right back up and you’ve skipped the ad! Once you re open the app, you’re right back where you were in game, when you closed the game/ completely skipping the forced ads every 40 seconds :) get to work devs!! <3 Original: I wish I didn’t waste my time giving this game a chance. The balance of forced very long ads vs game play time… it’s disgusting. I read about the insane amount of ads.. and I thought well.. I’ve played plenty of games with ads.. this game.. is a literal waste of time. You cannot even get into the game, every 40 seconds I get an ad.. I timed it!! AWFUL WASTE OF TIME GAME! you’ll spend more time waiting for ads to end than the developers spent making the game! I hope this helps the next “me” who comes through and thinks well, maybe the ads won’t be that bad. #uninstalled

The ads make this game unplayable

Most games like this play an ad at the end of the level, or once you lose. Not cake sort! Decline a power up? Here's an ad! Place 3 cakes? Time for an "ad break!" I have no problem if a game exchanges power ups for a 30 second ad, but this game forces you to watch ads with no reward. You can't even get into a satisfying rhythm or develop a strategy because the ads keep interrupting your gameplay. I discovered this game by playing a sample in an ad in another game, I have nothing against watching ads in exchange for free apps. But I literally got to play the game uninterrupted for longer in the advertisement than I do after downloading the actual game. It's that bad. Aside from all that, the puzzle format is okay, but it doesn't make a lot of sense, you can unlock new cakes that replace your old cakes mid game, eliminating them from the board, it's just kind of weird. There are unpredictable double cake plates which keep things tricky. Maybe I couldn't have gotten into it more with less commercial interruptions. If you enjoyed playing the sample you saw in an ad, I don't recommend bothering to download, it's not the same experience.

Intrusive scam ads

I really enjoy this game and have been mostly able to manage the ads (I even usually play the interactable ones until it won’t let me anymore) but recently it has started automatically redirecting me to my browser window telling me my phone is being scanned for viruses. This is a blatant scam designed to prey on people who don’t know much about technology and are easily scared by the idea of being infected by a virus, and by removing me from the app it forces me to watch another ad right after. Just now it did that while I was in the middle of an unrelated ad! That was the final straw and I have deleted the app. It’s a shame, I enjoy the gameplay but it just felt scummy to keep getting redirected like that, it makes me feel like I’m giving my time and attention to something that’s actively making the world worse. I’d love to come back but I find it unlikely that this will change because it’s probably making them some good money. Also this game heats up my phone when I’m playing it for too long, which increases the feeling that something shady is going on under the surface.

Could Have Been Great

**Caution** The play time in the Ad you saw for this game will be the longest uninterrupted time you will ever get after downloading it. The graphics are passable and somehow look better on the Ad. While the game is fun, the amount of mood busting Ads are ridiculous. Ads in the middle of a board, Ads when you lose a boards, Ads after pop up suggestions you decline not to accept because it isn’t clear if you will need to watch an ad, then another add for achieving a 5 coin bonus I never got to what they were even to be used for. Distracting Ad banner blinking just waiting for your hand to slip. No way I was going to trust that $2.99 would remove all of that and this all occurred after 5 minutes on the first board, meaning I clearly not enough time to decide if I like the game that much. Towards what I can only guess is close the end of the 1st board it gets increasingly, wildly difficult but of course so you can play it over again after an ad, and a few suggested boost,all followed by an Ad. I deleted it. I don’t have that kind of time to sit and work for this game’s profit.
