Astrocat Adventures is a total delight. It takes the classic platformer and adds a literal twist with its gravity-based movement. Controlling a cat with a jetpack is as fun as it sounds, and the physics-based puzzles are clever without being frustrating. The game feels 'floaty' in the best way possible, capturing that zero-G sensation perfectly.
The art style is incredibly cute, but don't let that fool you—some of the later planetary levels require some serious precision. Collecting the cosmic yarn is a great motivator to explore every nook and cranny of the beautiful space environments. It’s a polished, joyful experience that stands out in a crowded genre. If you love cats and space exploration, this is an easy recommendation.
Gravity-defying Movement
Beautiful Space Environments
Unlockable Cat Suits
Challenging Boss Battles
Tapping the screen fires your jetpack. Use short, controlled bursts rather than holding it down to navigate through narrow asteroid tunnels.
The Cosmic Yarn is hidden in every level. Collecting all 50 pieces will unlock the 'Golden Spacesuit', which gives you infinite fuel for a short time.
The game focuses on platforming and exploration, with only light combat elements during boss fights.
You play until you don't have lives left, aiming for your best score. There's levels, but each round has a few repeating scenes, and as you move on, each scene becomes more difficult (more enemies, different enemies, different scenarios like being in the dark). I appreciate that you don't lose lives if you miss a jump between landings onto platforms. There's also a scene where you're hovering and flying. You pick up different weapons, plus lives and shields along the way in most levels. I wish that there was a way to earn different characters/outfits, but instead you buy them, which is fine because in exchange, the ads are reasonable - you choose to watch them to continue the game after you lose your last life. They also pop up if you repetitively play, but for a free game, the ads don't occur at annoying times - there's plenty of uninterrupted play. I've experienced a few glitchy moments where my weapons get stuck and I can't re-position them, or my character freezes, but that's infrequent. I'd like the game a bit more if one could earn outfits or mods - some kind of long-term goal, but on the other hand, it's fun to pick up and play, then get on with your life.
It’s fun and easy to play and the aiming style with the movement is actually quite unique as they say! Looking forward to taking turns enjoying it with the kids!
The app seems to be very poorly coded. On my 17 Pro Max the intro screen takes up about 2/3 of the screen, leaving a wide gray border at the right side and bottom, and then the Select Adventure screen appears to be the same, though it's harder to tell because both the screen and the background are black...and that screen is dead. Or at least the controls are. I accidentally touched somewhere toward the right and it brought me back to the intro screen, and I could select whether I wanted to play the first level with or without ads (and when I chose the No Ads one I somehow got as far as the purchase process), but neither the Next button nor the Close button (the X) did anything. Seems like the developer team may need to learn to work to Apple guidelines.
Great and cute game. Love the graphics. But the target shooting can do some fixing. Not as smooth, sometimes you’re not able to move the target or it’s in the wrong place unable to find it in the next round. You can make it smooth and accurate. Also shooting and jumping in the same button is flawed.
Good quality and no ads unless you wanna continue where you left off.
This game was really fun on the tv so I tried it on iPad. I like the game on iPad but you can’t shoot on the side that you move with. This is very annoying and I already competed what I can play on the tv so please fix this.
Love the design and fluid movement of this game. The ability to target and move smoothly is lots of fun as is the level design.
Trying to play this on tv is frustrating because if you (accidentally) press the “back” button [PS controller = ‘O’, Nintendo switch controller = ‘A’, other controllers = ‘B’] it closes the game. Please fix this, and prevent it from happening.
