Please fix crashing

I’ve loved playing this game for the past couple of years. I did purchase it so I can play ad free. It has had a lot of interesting puzzles and themes. I like being able to customize my background and having the option to watch ads for more coins if needed. I agree with another review about the placement of the hints. I have also accidentally purchased a hint by bumping it with my thumb. Maybe just a simple confirmation after touching the hint would eliminate the accidental buying. I recently had to delete the game due to it constantly crashing after an update. I have reinstalled it and it still closes the app randomly during play. So I deleted it again. I do hope it is fixed soon. I really miss playing this word game. It is a great game to keep your mind busy and sort of clear your thoughts and I like that you can play at your own pace. Shelley

Pay to play

I started enjoying this game after playing it a bit, and wrongly decided it might be worth paying the small $3.99 fee to remove ads for a more enjoyable relaxing experience because the ads were seriously starting to annoy me. Then I realize higher levels require shuffles when you can’t find the words you need to pass a level, and guess what? Shuffles quickly eat game earned coins depending on how many shuffles you need. When you run too low on coin, you either have to pay real money to get more coin for shuffles to help you pass certain levels, basically turning this into a pay to play game, or you’re forced to sit through ads to earn the coin needed, negating the fee paid to remove them and not have to deal with them. Very frustrating. I feel kinda duped now, and since I already paid the ad removal fee, I have decided against deleting it, but will play it a lot less than I would have liked if I’m forced to watch ads for shuffles to pass levels, because I am not going to continually drop real cash for shuffles to help me advance. Very disappointed in this experience, and will be a lot more cautious about this kind of thing with games from now on.

Love this game, BUT.........

I’ve played this game more than any - ever! I’ve won two championships, have reached level 2148, have almost 25,000 coins, and have amassed many “hints”. Then, the game froze and I can’t move on. I can play the dailies, but not the regular game. I tried the ‘app support’ button and was led to a site that welcomed me to ‘nginx’ and lists of codes, numbers, and dates. I tried ‘developer website’ and received the message that the page was removed. I am so frustrated and unhappy.......and would appreciate any suggestions. Update: even more frustrated! Got NO response to the above; saw a response to someone with he same problem so followed the advice given to that person — uninstall, reinstall, update, and problem solved..... didn’t work for me. So, I finally just started over. I’m now back to level 180, doing well in the current tournament, and realized that I am not getting credit (coins) for all the bonus words......arrrgh! Please help........there are lots of other word games, so I’m probably done with this developer’s games. 2nd update just a few minutes after the last! Lo and behold! I opened the app once again, just to finish the tournament, and all my original coins and hints were restored and I was returned to the level where I froze! Yay!! 5 STARS again!

Keeps freezing, going black

I wrote the review last week and hoped the problem was solved but it’s not. The game freezes constantly and then goes black. I have to close the game and get back in. Then I get booted off. This was bad before the update but it’s so much worse now. I used to play game after game while watching tv at night. Now, if I play 3-5, I’m lucky. This needs to be fixed! I don’t understand the ads running at the bottom of the game continue while the game stops. What are you doing to fix this? Wondering WHO you’re using to fix bugs and how much they’re getting paid. Can’t be much. Stars changed to 2. Edited: I wrote - I love this game and updated it thinking it would fix the problems but I barely could get through one game due to it freezing constantly. I clicked for the second game and it froze and then booted me off. After messing around with different things on my iPhone, I rebooted it. That did help with the problem and am hoping the freezing, black screen and booting off is fixed. If it is, I’ll be very happy. Also, the ads on the bottom flashing at me are very annoying. I’ve changed my rating to a higher score.

Oppressive ads

I enjoy playing this game. But I am a free to play person. I understand fully that the game makers need ad revenue. I do not begrudge that at all. Up until recently, the ad load was not bad. However, the game has changed in recent weeks such that F2P now has to watch an ad after every level played. And the adds require interaction to clear off (i.e. I can’t just set my phone down and do another task while the ad plays silently). The game itself is good - that’s why I still have it rated at 3*. Without the oppressive ads, I’d definitely give 4*, maybe even 5. I know I could pay a bit to get ad free, but I don’t trust that it would truly be ad free given how aggressive the new ad strategy is. If you want a fun word game and are willing to pay for no ads, I recommend this game. If you don’t want to pay for the no ads version, then be prepared to spend nearly half your time on the game watching some stupid irrelevant ad content. Since I don’t want to pay, I’m deleting the app and will find a different F2P app that doesn’t have the oppressive ad load.

Jumpy

Ehh. It can be fun - something to pass time. I prefer word games to skill games. I’ve played Word Crush off-and-on for about two years. I rarely “spend” the “coins” to buy board flips or helps like the lightning clues. For me it’s more fun to amass the coin points. I’m currently on level 773 - I have over 1900 game “coins.” Two days ago the game began being “jumpy” (not moving smoothly) and momentarily freezes (frequently). The freezes are becoming more lengthy. I usually have to exit the game and completely close it down (I play using iPad). It looks like I’ll have to delete the app — and probably loose my progress. I doubt that I’ll reload it. It’s too frustrating to start over. I notice that the app store description indicates that the game was updated 6 days ago. Maybe that caused the new problems - attention developers - sometimes your bug-fixes just create new bugs. I guess the game deserves a few stars since it lasted this long. Three it is - average. It’s average for a game to become a fail after time.

Addictive Brain-Fun but points earned/used charged against my Apple account

I quickly became addicted to this word game. I started noticing that I was earning points and I thought “wow that’s great; I wonder what I can buy with the points?” Then I made a small purchase of $.99.p, noticing that I had to login to my Apple Account. I immediately noticed that my points did not decrease. So I checked my Apple account and the $.99 was taken out of my Apple account - instead of from the points that I earned through playing this game. So that’s disappointing and I've lost interest in this deceptive points-earning game. I’d rather play it - without earning any points - since I can’t actually use the points earned to make a purchase. I don’t know if the points (are supposed to) continue on day by day, but I did notice that when I began to play the next day my previous points were gone. It’s also very difficult to get back to the menu of this game - so that I can review the rules & information again.

Good Game Worse Operation - Frustration too high to keep

In Response to Developer Request to update Review: Your response did not indicate any changes had been made to lessen the number of ads, time required to watch (some require watching full ad) or steps necessary to get out of ads. When more time is dedicated to ads than playing the game, the objective is lost. I realize the developer is due some reward for developing but not like this. Sorry. Initially rated high until I found out how much time was required to play a simple game. Game is good problem is game is designed to force you to pay to use; either you spend money or time. One round/word location in the game may take 3 seconds then you spend 35 seconds forced to watch an advertisement for another game. This is because game does not allow you to shuffle letters without repeating this process (letters purposely need shuffling). Summary 2 words may take several minutes. Waste of time. Other game advertisements don’t force you to wash the advertisements in entirety as does this one. There are better word games ou there. I’m gone.
