It’s a great game but…

So I’ll start off by stating the obvious. It’s basically Sky Force but a roguelike version of it. While it pales in comparison it makes up for it in other areas such as customization and other game mechanics. Now, for glaring cons, if you want to play it for free be prepared to watch an ungodly amount of ads. To disable the adds you have to buy it for $30 and it doesn’t include anything else. The premium currency isn’t obtainable except for stage progression, leveling up, and an event you can play that gets harder. They should have a steady influx of diamonds for dailies but dailies actually give you items you get through normal gameplay. They basically force you to buy them in order to redeem the “10x draw with guaranteed fighter” which brings me to my next point. You can get keys that take the place of the 300 diamond crate but what if you save 10 keys? Nope, you can’t use them on the “10x draw with guaranteed fighter”. It’s really bad. The devs are more money grubbing than many others in this regard. They don’t give you enough diamonds to get that pack and don’t allow you to save up keys for it. Overall I love this game. If you loved Sky Force this game will scratch that itch. Just be forewarned about the things I mentioned.

Must be financially secure to play!!!

Warning: DO NOT play this game unless you are financially secure and able to spend some real money!!!! To do most anything in this game for free, you will have to watch ads ad nauseum…. A real pain believe me!!! In the end, you really cannot advance much in this game without paying real money because ads make it tedious to play long term. I am lucky enough to have a great job and don’t really spend money on anything else (don’t eat out, house is paid off, and only spend on bills) so I have not minded spending the $30 to be ad free forever and buying occasional diamond packs, etc. If you do not spend money in this game, it will take forever to make any meaningful advances and I am sure you will get tired of the ads and move on; trust me!!!! (Perhaps try Lightning Fighter 2 which is more reasonable and you can get by without spending your rent on in-game purchases to advance and level up) All that said, the game is entertaining so I give it five stars….

Too much randomization

You cannot just buy what you need or want. You have to spend money for a random chance to possibly maybe get what you need to upgrade and advance. And that’s the problem. Everything related to upgrading in this game is randomized. Everything. Meaning you will have to spend a ton of money and buy a bunch of things you never wanted. In this game, the primary method of leveling up is through your gear. You could maybe upgrade through playing but you can only play so many times per day because you have to use a currency to play one round and you are only allowed so much currency per day. And even then, that only gets you a random upgrade which could be some useless upgrade. Oh and their idea of an upgrade is: “increase health recovery by 1%”… umm ok bud. Anyway, upgrading your gear requires money and again you can’t even buy exactly what you want. So you’ll end up like me on level 16 of 100 something levels, where one enemy bullet is a one-hit kill. And there are times the entire screen is filled with enemy bullets. Good luck. I am uninstalling the game.

Great game, Ad︃ heavy.

Tons of fun if you enjoy this genre, it’s one of my favorites. It is heavy on the ads as far as doubling your rewards and what not, but it certainly doesn’t force ads on you like most games. It doesn’t throw game related ads at you, it doesn’t spam you with sales and deals, etc. There is an option for no ads of any kind ever again, but I personally think $30 for an ad free mobile game is insanely steep. $10 is a lot for Ad︃ free gameplay, but reasonable if the game is worth it, but I have yet to play any mobile game that is worth anywhere near $30. Unless it is a port of a classic game like final fantasy or something. But $30 for Ad︃ free in a game that even after that $30, you still have to pay more to get gems/planes/upgrades. It’s very overkill and I hope the devs reconsider this insane price. $30 should give you a full 20-30+ hour game, with zero ads and every plane available or at least unlock able through gameplay not related to opening chests and chance. I wish this game would come to Apple Arcade as a non free to play version with frequent updates and added content, I would play it all the time. So I give it 5 stars because I greatly enjoy the game, I just think the devs are reaching really hard to expect people to pay that amount for ad free.

Do NOT update. Down grades the loot in ur CC

Do not update for as long as possible. The devs decided to reset the loot for the CC. So loot you were able to produce has now been taken away and lower loot has replaced it. Not sure why devs think that taking away hard earned progress is the way to move forward with this game. Locking out access to legion member CCs, down grading loot that was already hard to earn by upgrading CC levels. Devs do not want existing players, only new players. Cause only players that have not spent their time and effort upgrading their CCs would continue playing this game. All the players that spent money on this game already, your CC progress just got reset. Instead of adding new content, they reset your current progress to stretch out the game. More of the same game play, stretched out longer. No new enticement for existing players, cause they already paid. I’ve seen too many of these lousy updates. It’s just going to happen again. New players will progress, and then get it reset. Just like they did with this last update. I’m glad I didn’t spend anymore since the last setback update. Now this reset update, makes me just give up on this game.

It feels like a copy of a game I played early 90’s

I played a game in the early 90’s only two options, then the new game three options for firepower. How much of a copy? Pretty sure some of it is identical. Except the added stars pickup. Struggling to tell the difference between incoming stars and enemy fire, and drone fire… trying to dodge the stars. Use to have to pick up the power ups. I think I spent close to $40 on a friend and I defeating the original game in the past. He was red firepower, I was blue firepower. So, why mark it down one star from 5? The game seems too easy. It went to far away from simulation. Increase the difficulty, remove the stars. Perhaps upgrade between quests for more realism. If they had the ability, perhaps 4.5 stars. Some of the mods add a lot of playability to the game I think. When the upgrade came out, I ran the purple firepower. Was the game I was playing a copy of another game too? Shrug. Keep up the great work. Try to not lose the original dynamic of dodging bullets.

DO NOT TRUST THIS GAME !!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a rotten game , every time it glitches and it takes prizes the creators never ever contact you back nor do they give you the prizes their game takes from you. This game crashes every single day ! I would not trust these people. If they can’t return emails or prizes their game lost then why play it. It’s just frustrating constantly , it’s not easy going or pleasant to play. Constantly crashing and the creators are so lazy and crooked. I’ve reached out to these people on discord I never hear back. Seems to me they avoid all people with issues to this game. But they will take your money. I’m on level 60 and all the keys I get maybe 1 and 12 prizes are useful. It’s like being rewarded with junk. Just completely useless prizes. Do not spend money on keys are they are 1.00 each and you will be lucky if you get 1 prize you can use out of 12 keys. COMPLETE RIP OFF DO NOTMSPEND MONEY ON THIS GAME ,OR YOU WILL SEE MUCH TO LATE HOW MUCH THEY HAVE REALLY TAKEN FROM YOU. UNTIL THEY FIX THIS GAME IWILL CONTINUE TO LEAVE THESE RATINGS , nothing has changed in 3 months I doubt they will change anything on this game. I find it as stealing and conning at its finest !!!!

Okay

While I like the game it seems when the creators want to make more money they put out an update that changes the gameplay difficulty. I know that recommended level of experience for a particular level in the game doesn’t mean that you will sail through the level just means that you are more likely to get further in gameplay if you had the minimum. From there you can accumulate more experience to help get through a level. But when suddenly after an update that level you have been working to pass has increased in difficulty it makes you question the integrity of the creators. For example I go into a Boss battle with 100% life and get hit with one stray bullet I was not quick enough to dodge and that zaps 100% of my life doesn’t seem like a fair fight. But I can purchase diamonds and other options to increase experience and jet options. About to delete the game and highly recommend you don’t waste your time or money.
