I just got the game and I’m honestly amazed all of the worlds I’ve tired are so thought out and unique in there own way. It’s so refreshing to not have to stress about tasks or anything and just enjoy the world the way I want the only problem I’ve been having is a small bug. Whenever I try to load up one of my memories or have been playing for a minute it crashes, which is kind of disappointing because I would love to play this game for hours on end. But nobody’s perfect and i know it will probably be fixed in an update so I’m not too worried. Still amazing to play and I don’t think I’ll ever delete it. Also a serious help with my anxiety. It calms me down☺️☺️
Love the open world concept. Love how you can change the way you jump and stuff. However I wish that there was character customization and I wish that there was a purpose to this game. It’s open world and you run around, but that’s it. You’re not collecting anything, there’s no goals. There’s no other people like a hometown village where you can buy stuff sell things you might find. The mushrooms don’t have a purpose and the big giant rock that follows you around doesn’t have a purpose either. Would be cool if you could hunt, and collect herbs, wood (for the fire) or to Build a cabin. I mean you can place a cabin anywhere so that’s cool but it disappears when you get back in the game or when you Build another one somewhere else. Would be cool if there was a map as well so you can mark your location and know where you explored and where you’ve been. This game has the right idea of open world exploration in the wilderness but it needs a purpose. Also, there are way too many worlds for a game with no purpose. Get rid of a few worlds and add the things mentioned and you’d have the perfect game. And maybe do add some enemies here and there, add a bow and arrow or a sword. Add giants you can fight and animals you can befriend to follow you around like a wolf or a bear or even lion or a dog. Over all this game is fun at first but running Around and not doing anything gets repetitive and boring really fast.
To put it simply, this game is absolutely stunning. The controls to fine tune the weather and environment are something you don’t see very often especially on a mobile device game. I love Tom he simplicity of the game, just open the app and explore. The reasoning behind my 4 star review is that as a designer myself I feel that there could be more to do. Maybe not so much more to do but more to see and explore such as monument type areas. Maybe a few villages here and there, rivers and waterfalls, animals such as deer and foxes and rabbits. Simple creatures that you could run up to and shape shift into them. Maybe more character animations like drinking from streams of eating mushrooms, making your own campfire from gather material and being able to sit down weather that be on the ground or in your home on the bed or in a chair. Those are just a few recommendations I can think of as of now. That being said I think this game is amazing as is for a brief relaxation session. As I sit here writing this review I am imagining myself playing this game with the added features I have mentioned and could see myself playing for an hour plus using it as time to think of creative ideas for my own projects. Thank you for the beautiful game hope to here from you.
This is great! Wow! Love the game! The graphics are beautiful! This is a beautiful game. I finally got what I expected! After the update the game kept crashing though, and it was annoying. Also whenever I take a picture it can also crash. Even when I’m just flying around and hit the picture button. Now it seems better but it’s annoying when that happens. The mushrooms. If you build a house and then leave your person there and go running around as a horse or something, later you can find a mushroom and follow it back. But maybe they can lead you to some secret places too. That would be cool. Like a cottage or pond or something like that. Maybe like a place where it’s like all like glowing with mushrooms and stuff. And— well. I don’t know if this is necessary but it would be cool if you could shape change into a dragon. And there could be a white and green and red dragon. I don’t know. Also so the dragon could walk on land and fly. Otherwise the game is awesome. Keep up the fabulous work!
I came to know your beautiful works through performance benchmarks of mobile devices via Bright Ridge. Paid $3 for Wilderness and it’s worth the money. A slight issue I’ve had is the raining situation when the character is under water. Raining outside seems to have stopped once the character is fully under water and only starts once again once the character pops up. A bit inconsistent there. Maybe a it’s processing power thing? Oh, and, it can be really great if you enable Apple Silicon Mac support and add high refresh rate support for your games. Can be a great time killer from work and one can finally crank all the settings up to enjoy your beautiful work on news Macs with more GPU cores, say, an M1 Max MBP with that beautiful 120Hz panel. Nevertheless, great job Robert for a solo work!
I work for a company that has iOS apps, not games mind you, but I know what goes into developing to an extent and it’s not easy. I have been a fan of this developer for years now. It’s the most beautiful content I’ve ever seen. How someone has not grabbed him up has to be his choice. I will buy anything he publishes just to support in anyway I can. I can’t wait to show my grandson this one because I think he will love it! IMO this is the best developer in the App Store. The detail in these apps is just incredible. This is a one man shop and it still amazes me years later. Thank you for such beautiful apps. To the developer if you adde in app purchases I would fully support it.
Hi, I have been a fan of Protopop games for, well, since I played BrightRidge! They are consistently amazing, and I would recommend that anyone even remotely considering getting get it. You won’t regret it. Anyway, this part is to Protopop, (sorry, I don’t know your actual name.) Wilderless is amazing, sort of like a Breath of The Wild for mobile, but I would like it if there was some indication of when you think that the other phases are going to come out. Sorry if this seems rude, and I understand if that that isn’t possible for some reason. Another new thing I really like is the ability to fly with my cape. Anyway, keep up the good work!
Love this game. I think this has so much to offer. Suggestions: Add stars and meteors to the night sky. More fun would be an Aurora. Add simple gathering abilities. I did not see fish while swimming under water nor other birds while flying. Add wildlife to explore. Add forgeable foods like fruits, nuts, berries, mushrooms and plants. Include fish as a transformable option. I’ve been looking for a game that is based on basic survival. This game is very close. To explore and find a suitable environment to enjoy is so much fun. Create a comping/basic survival scenario, this game will become highly popular very quickly. Thank you for this game. I look forward to seeing it evolve. 👍😊
