Various bug fixes
Twilight's Last Gleaming is a hauntingly beautiful puzzle-narrative experience that feels like a cross between an escape room and a graphic novel. The core gameplay involves manipulating shadows and light sources to navigate through a decaying mansion. It’s a slow-burn game where the story is told through the environment rather than exposition—a bloodstain here, a discarded letter there, all hinting at a family's descent into madness.
The visual design is striking, utilizing a high-contrast 'chiaroscuro' style that makes every puzzle feel like a piece of art. While some of the logic puzzles can be quite abstract, the atmosphere is so thick that you'll want to keep pushing forward just to see the next room. It’s an intellectual, eerie journey that rewards patient observation and lateral thinking. It’s not a 'jump scare' horror game; it’s a game of sustaind psychological dread and clever mechanical ingenuity.
Stunning high-contrast art style
Deep environmental storytelling
Innovative light and physics puzzles
Eerie, immersive sound design
In the later stages, shadows become physical platforms. Position your lamp low to the ground to cast a long, wide shadow that allows you to cross the central ravine without falling into the void.
Your lantern has limited oil. To solve the puzzles effectively, you must find the 'Flicker Points' that temporarily freeze shadows in place, allowing you to move your light source elsewhere.
There is no global timer, but some puzzles require you to move through shifting shadows before the light fades.
Does the AI cheat? Does it fudge the numbers in its own favor, to a ridiculous extent? ABSOLUTELY!! However, these things will not be new to you if you’ve ever played a HexWar game. Still fun.
Thank you I love War of 1812 and American Revolution games and Tank battle North Africa now you have another War of 1812! This looks great! What would make me even happier is a French and Indian war game
I truly enjoy the Hunted Cow/Decision Games and recommend you try them. Be warned thought that in this game in standard and hard AI the Americans can't hit the broadside of a barn and the Brits, Indians & Canadians are sharpshooters and rarely miss. Otherwise it's a fun but occasionally aggravating game.
The music and atmosphere on this one alone get it 5 stars. It has this odd dark soundtrack that is absolutely wonderful. Hexwar - please use this musical style for future releases. Missions are good and avoid the chronic Hexwar flaw of not allowing enough map space to maneuver on the flanks. Highly recommended!
Not a bad game, though with only ten scenarios, you’ll be left wanting something more afterwards. Not a bad game, but just not that great.
Intro screen and music, and locks up. Cannot get game to start or to do anything. Very frustrating. On iPhone.
It’s a good game. Love playing this type of game. This Game won’t let me change formations. Get that fixed and it will be a great game.
Great game, great graphics, great play. The Americans CAN hit the broadside of a barn... Just need to have the infantry in the proper formation: in-line for reg inf and open-order for light inf. Firing while in column formation yields the least results!
