Why I stopped playing

Hello I am writing this review to tell the game devs that the reason I stopped playing is because I didn’t find it that interesting don’t get me wrong I love all of the time and effort you people put into this game but the way the characters and how the battles go that is not me I like the game where when you battle enemy’s you fight either you control the character to move where you want it to go like third person battle for example solo leveling I love their way of battle and Honkai star rail I also love the way they set up their battles so the reason I stopped playing wasn’t because I hated it is was because I didn’t find it that interesting I’m sorry but that game is just not my type but I love and support your way of making games and you can see how much effort you people put into this game and quick side note I know the game is still relatively new but sometimes when I am about to go into a battle the game closes its self and I have to get back in and start the battle over again I love the game but it’s just not right for me I hope you can understand and continue to make the game more entertaining and enjoyable for others thank you and good bye

Bring back pink characters!

I love the trails series! I played Akatsuki for a long time on JP App Store but was super sad when you guys removed it and replaced it with… this. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still going to play. But the combat is extremely boring, and I miss characters like Lif who were only in akatsuki. I’m glad you have Alfin in here as she is my favorite. Maybe add the reverie characters, I’d love to see Nadia, my other favorite. I played this on JP at first too, but quickly switched over as I noticed the English version came out. However, I have noticed that my favorite bug is gone! My characters used to glitch out when I played this on JP and they’d turn into pink silhouettes! Please bring back my all time favorite bug!!! Even better, sometimes characters would disappear completely! But I will say I adore the translation issues! Elliot being the Icy Maiden is SO fitting for him! And I adoreeeee the amigo gacha! What a nice name! Spanish doesn’t even directly go to English! Huh… you thought I was serious? No, not at all, not in this paragraph at least. I meant everything I said in the first one. But please, fix the bugs and translation issues. PS: akatsuki over NW any day… disappointing but I’ll still play

Nothing Special

Just like many games based off of established ips, this game is really only worth playing if you love Trails of Cold Steel, and ever then probably not. The English translation is not great, the graphics are serviceable at best, and the combat is the same thing you have seen in a hundred other idle games. Also the game doesn’t even seem to work correctly as I got a notification that I unlocked arena but whenever I try to go there it says the content is unavailable. The story is pretty bland through 3 chapters, and it follows a new protagonist, so it’s not even like the characters you know and love are here. Also, the monetization is awful. There are 3 battle passes at launch, and there is an infinite reroll that lets you get whatever character you want (which is free in pretty much every game I have ever seen it in) but it costs $21 here. $21 for a 10 pull is pretty pricey. Even as a huge Trails of Cold Steel fan I doubt I will keep playing this for more than a week, and if I do it will be at the most casual f2p level.

Worst Game Ever, Slap In The Face To Trails Fans

This is a complete slap in the to all Trails fans. If it wasn’t bad enough that the anime didn’t do that good of jobwith its lackluster animation and voice acting, now you give us a game where you literally are just watching the characters fight. Not to mention the tutorial takes forever and is rinse and repeat is so bad. Idk how to describe the combat but you click start and the characters literally fight on their own. The S Crafts look God awful. You can’t heal your team nor is their any actual strategy which is dumb when the console games were strategy turn based games that looked so good even on older consoles. I’m extremely disappointed with Nihon Falcom for allowing this to happen after your fans have supported y’all religiously for many, many years. We’ve tried to be patient with y’all, but y’all have spat in our faces one too many times. It started with no Sky remakes, then Zero and Azure get remakes but they’re not much better + no English dialogue, then you put Sky on steam and it has no dialogue yet you charge a lot for the games and now you release the worst mobile game that is a cash grab because y’all are too cheap to actually wanna invest to give your fans what they deserve which is a proper mobile game.

A mess of a game

I want to love this game but the current state of it is near unenjoyable. No ability to grind for materials to let you level up your characters. A whole month in and the game still crashes like crazy for no reason, I haven’t gotten to see a whole match in arena because the game crashes. A severe difficulty issue that gatekeeps you from being able to make any progress with a lack of a way to improve your characters. Been playing every day since launch and at the point I’m in story the best team I can come up with is only half of the power that the enemy team is. This is not balanced at all and requires characters to be built up requiring getting lucky in the gacha system. And the micro transactions are numerous and you can trip over a branch without being reminded that this game wants you to spend money if you want to enjoy yourself. It is also an auto battler so there is little to no tactics outside of where you place characters then watch them do the work. Only redeemable factor of this game is the characters and world from the kiseki series.

Bugs and machine translation galore

I have no idea what Userjoy was thinking releasing the game in this state. I have encountered several tutorial bugs, with one of them completely breaking my game and putting me in an infinite loop. This started when the game crashed when I tried to arrange my formation in the Hero menu. When I restarted the game, the Forest of Trials tutorial reappeared! Going through the prompts gets me stuck in “the boss has been defeated” screen. I’ve data cleared and reinstalled but the bug will not go away. This combined with the several spelling errors and asset switches is why I cannot recommend this game at its current state. This review may change if things get fixed.

Sadly I can’t rate this any lower then one star

I tend not to review, but this game has crashed on me so often it’s usually 8-10 complete game crashes a play session, just to complete daily tasks…..this game isn’t even worth spending money on with how often it crashes…sure the costumes look nice, but with the game crashing every 5-10 minutes , it kills any desire to use said costumes…..sure the lvling system is easy…when the game actually doesn’t I dunno…CRASH!-.- I feel sorely disappointed in this game, out of hundreds of games I have played this one actually sadly is now in the top 4 worst….congrats, you made it onto a list I didn’t think any would achieve anymore-.-

Such promise for a failing game

To make this an AFK RPG instead of a tactics game was a huge mistake; there are MANY in the FEH and WOTV community that had high expectations for this debut from TOCS. This game is SUPER buggy on iOS, it won’t stay open more than five minutes without closing. It’s just sad to see, I was so excited for this game and I was looking forward to playing. The visuals are very nice, but it’s so unfortunate that the game doesn’t even work well enough to enjoy. Not to mention the shortest of the wars were chosen for this through an anime that already had poor reception overall. This game is likely to see an EOS faster than Tales of Luminaria, I fear. I really hope Falcom evaluates the potential they have to make a huge success in the gacha market and make an approach that their customer base can better enjoy. Lots of freebies but the app constantly closing unexpectedly is just too much. There are so many that want a good, consistent game for TOCS. Good luck though, because this sadly wasn’t it.
