Revised review

As you can see below I had a problem that the developer was able to fix so now I have my complete game. It’s a shame this huge error ever occurred but I appreciate the developers quick response to it. If your having a problem read the developer responses and follow their steps to fix it. Thank you Asmodee. As everyone else has already said my purchases did Not come through after downloading and updating your game. I have everything for the game and only 4 of my purchases were restored when I hit the button. Fix this and fix it NOW! There was nothing wrong with the old game. If you don’t fix this by the end of this week I’m writing to Games Workshop and ask them to pull your contract because you’re doing a Lousy job.

Great reproduction of the original

I am always reluctant to purchase any app with a lot of MBs. But I do have the board games, the design of the game looked accurate, no one will play Talisman with me so I thought I’d take a chance. I was happy with my choice and even bought a few extras like the Grim Reaper expansion. After many plays this does feel much like the board game. I also purchased Origins not really knowing what exactly I’d get but was happy with that as well. I like the many scenarios available, and the extra boards around the corners are really cool, I need to look and see if those exist for the board game as well. My one and only complaint is the placement of the roll die. Perhaps this has been addressed in the last update. Sitting at the top middle of the screen it blocks part of the woods. If one of my move choices is to go the woods with a card on it, I’ll sometimes click it to see the card yet hit the die for a re-roll I didn’t want. It’s nearly impossible not to. So I would please ask the designers to place that die somewhere else where it doesn’t hover over game spots. Or make the top die dead to touch and keep the re-roll on the far right. When I’m down to one fate, as far away from the bottom game board as possible, losing my last fate this way is frustrating. But I am recommending to anyone who is a fan of the board game, you won’t be sorry.

Awesome game

I love the complexity and endless replay-ability of this game. Hope you enjoy too, even when your character is turned into a slimy little toad for three turns! This truly is a unique game. First time players can use the pop-up mini tutorials to learn the rules as they play. Really great way to learn game mechanics. (I purchased Talisman for both my IPhone And IPad.) I just downloaded the new version onto my phone. (Should have done so when it was a free conversion like I did for my IPad, my mistake). After logging into my new account I found all my previously purchased expansions, characters and also the new free Deep Realms expansion !! Looking forward to playing. Thanks to Amodee for continuing with great game content and also for excellent customer service.

Super Fun Game

The Asmodee help center was wonderful in resolving the issue with my previous game content. Thanks so much! This Digital edition is awesome to have to play solo or with friends. If you never tried Talisman before you are in for a treat. This is a gem of a game. This game has unlimited replayability due to randomness of cards and richness of expansions. One of my favorite aspects of the game is the selection of characters. Picking a character and then developing their story as the game progresses is fun and also a challenge at times, but that is a very good thing. I usually play against two AIs. The artwork is amazing. Zooming in to see the details of the spaces and city shops adds to the characters story development. Background sounds are excellent. Using spells takes a little practice. I have all expansions and the ability to build a game with the expansions and characters adds to the ultimate replayability of this game. The city expansion is a must have if you are just starting out with the game. I have been playing Talisman since the second edition was introduced 30 years ago and this Digital edition is awesome. Can't wait for the Woodlands expansion. Very exciting.

Fun and faithful reproduction

It’s fun, and having no setup time is awesome. I’ve had this game for a long time, and the developers have ironed out bugs that plagued the game back in 2019. Every week you can try a different expansion pack for free. Some I like more than others. Halloween is on the horizon, the Blood Moon expansion with cards like All Hallows Eve, Mummy King, Night Carriage, Trick & Treats, and of course Headless Horseman are especially thematic. That also has day and night game board theming and a wandering Werewolf that—if you’re unlucky—can take many lives in a single turn. In 2019 I have this 3 stars because it was buggy. The bad reviews tend to be older. Glad their development team has been bug-squashing.

I LOVE this game

A very well done translation. The recent Harbinger expansion is fantastic! Nomad is an excellent company to deal with! I had some hiccups porting my purchases to the new version, but they helped me resolve the problem within 24 hours! I have been dealing with them for years. They have gladly responded to feedback about everything. Their passion for this project is obvious. If you like Talisman in real life, then this is worth every penny! Probably the number one app most used on my phone. If you have never played Talisman, the tutorial mode covers everything! You will be a pro player in no time! It does a great job not just explaining the game, but also covering subtle intricacies that may go unnoticed by even experienced players!

Horribly buggy

I love this game and have all the expansions. I’ve owned both this and the prior before they made you repurchase everything. But because I enjoy the game so much I re-purchased everything. I’ve well north of scores of games played in. The graphics on this new version are nice. A bit gimmicky for my taste but not a big deal. Unfortunately they apparently did NO TESTING WHATSOEVER before release. I updated this afternoon and have had no less than 10 crashes and lost track of the number of bugs I’ve hit. In the current version it’s unplayable. Let me give some examples. When you hit the guru card or another card that allows you to select a spell you can ONLY select the last card. But that is misleading because it doesn’t matter what card you select you’ll get a random card not even in those shown. I had four items in my inventory and wanted to pick up the item on the space and drop one of my other items but only the last item could be selected. So on and so forth. So if you’ve not updated yet DON’T. In my case I’m going to stop playing until the next update in hopes they return the game to playable. I don’t expect anything to be perfect but the prior version was a great game. This one isn’t even playable. Total fail for the development team behind this one....

...Download Higher Quality Graphics And Sound?” Every single time. Such a needlessly tedious step. And now, I also find that I am logged out of my Asmodee account as well! Do you remember your account name and password? I sure don’t. So it’s off to my password manager to find the info AGAIN. You will also need to re-type your password because the app doesn’t support pasting from the clipboard. Don’t skip this step, though, because you won’t have access to any of your purchases if you do. Also, don’t simply go to the store and try to buy them again to restore your purchases because they will happily sell everything to you a second time if you’re not careful. Don’t be fooled by the fact that SOME of your purchases show-up without logging in! Are they incompetent or crooked? Who knows, but I DO know that I’m never giving these guys another penny.
