Music Quality Increase.
Various bug fixes
This game is Fancy as 2018 Can let this game be. Im having alot of fun just refighting the final boss! But one complaint. It crashes alot, mostly in World 1 Remix, im pretty sure the farthest you can go is to the part where level 3 is being erased. And in the 3rd room of the remix, most of the doors also crash your game, as well as the hole to fight the angry penguin. The fact that World 1 remix crashes so much, makes it that it is impossible to 100% this game (in its current ios state). When the game is updated and fixes the world 1 remix, i will happily change this review. Great game otherwise though!
The game is beyond amazing, solidifying Fancy Pants as an incredible game franchise. The fact that the game was ported to mobile makes the not only much more accessible and enjoyable on the go, but sadly also opens the door to some glitches and questionable design. For example, my game has crashed multiple times simply moving from screen to screen, and it happens far more often in the remix. The controls are also not spared. At seemingly random times, the controls will just stop working or just break entirely, making for example rolling impossible as pressing the down arrow makes you go left. This happened a couple times here and there in the main game, but consistently happened after kicking the bowling ball in the remix. If you head down to where the bowling ball landed, your controls seemingly stop working properly. The rest of my complaints are minor nitpicks, like I wish there were a sixty frames per second mode. The game is a masterpiece through and through.
The new fancy pants could be something great. The game brings with it great new innovations to game play. Many new ideas and styles are brought forth. What could easily be the greatest game in series is ruined by one big flaw. The controls. The d-pad in the new fancy pants is utterly god-awful. Sequences become unplayable due to broken arrow keys and gameplay options that are simply stupid. Trying to shoot ones ink gun is silly, very hard to actually use in battle. The arrow keys are too low to the bottom left corner and don't do what the player wants and the ability to ride the pen is totally unusable. I would find myself unable to complete a level solely due to a part where I couldn't ride the pen. A fantastic idea for gameplay destroyed by poor play testing. Do not buy this game until there is a fix, or at least the ability to customize ur d-pad.
Sigh... I own an iPhone XR and that’s where I play SPFA on but apparently the controls and touchscreen buttons seem to be sticky and glitchy lately, and that’s a problem that I’ve been having lately, whenever I let go of one of the movement buttons: it stays in that direction as it won’t shrink back to normal and the titular character I play as won’t stop moving in that same direction when I’m not moving him anymore, I try to press the pause button on top but it won’t respond and neither will the rest of the other buttons will respond whenever the movement buttons I use get stuck going left or stuck going right, and I have to swipe off the game and return to my home screen and restart the game from there, so will you please fix this that game and put an end to those sticky controls and glitchy buttons situation already, it would be a really big help.
I have always been a fan of the Fancy Pants series, so I was excited to see this game. I instantly preordered it. However, looking at the final product, I am slightly disappointed. The art is great, the cosmetics you can get for Fancy Pants are great, the music is good, but the controls... no. First of all, I play on an iPad mini 4, and I feel that the buttons are way too small to be comfortable with. I usually miss hitting the buttons because of this, which has costed me lots of lives. I would love to see a feature where we can resize the buttons to our liking. The controls also seem a tad bit unresponsive (which might be from me constantly missing the small buttons). I really like this game, but if the controls aren’t improved, then I won’t get a truly enjoyable experience. EDIT: The game now has much better controls and bigger buttons as of 1.2. This is the update I was hoping for. Thank you, developers, for listening to our feedback.
This game is my favorite game of all time! It’s really action packed and is so smooth when timing attacks and jumps right. However there is a bug I’d like to report. In the world 1 remix when I kick the bowling ball and try to slide in the crack, my controls go bizarre. I ink dash instead of sliding/rolling through the crack. This only happens near the crack. When I didn’t kick the ball there was no problem with the controls. Also when I enter a door in world 1 my game crashes sending me to the home screen. Hopefully you see this and fix this.(Played on iOS)
The only problem I have with this game is that it keeps crashing after walking over to another area while waiting for it to load a few screens after opening the app, but when appearing in World 1 remix, I can't progress past a certain point where it always crashed. This not only means I'm unable get past the area where blue platforms move, but I can't collect any remaining hats to 100% the game.
I preordered this game because it looked fun and had a unique art style. However, I quit playing about five minutes in as the controls were awful - and I’m usually very forgiving of controls. But when I can’t even consistently run, it’s an issue. The buttons are unresponsive at times and when I started having trouble doing a simple wall jump, I knew it just wasn’t playable in its current form. The description does say it’s compatible with a controller, so you may have better luck there, but playing on screen is unreliable. Hoping they add at least a “joystick” option. I’ll come back if they do. But for now, I regret spending my money on this.
