I love this game and enjoyed playing it at first with an “easy” level AI. But when I progressed to the medium level AI, I started to notice that the AI rolls ridiculously high numbers in comparison to my rolls. I have the impression that the level of difficulty is determined simply by programming the AI to be much luckier, which takes the fun out of the game for me because I can never come close to beating it with my frequent low rolls.
Unfortunately, I can’t. I purchased this with the intent to play asynchronously with my partner. The game has required me to create a new account to play and resetting my password has resulted in errors from their website. I’ve contacted their customer service repeatedly over a couple months and they are completely useless in even the most basic of help. Customer service that should have been taken care of overnight has taken months and still hasn’t been fixed. Avoid unless you simply want to play against the AI. In response to Acram’s response - Stop lying to me. This isn’t a priority at all I am utterly out of patience and even publicly calling you out here in the App Store has gotten the same facile non-response you’ve given me time and time again. You have no intention of fixing this because if you had that intention it would have been done by now. It’s simple. Delete my prior account and let me create a new one. It’s not hard. You even said so when I texted your company. Did you do that? Of course not. Buyer beware.
Started a game and claimed a card (the cheapest one - 1 resource). Came time to collect workers and darned if I can't figure out how to claim it. I gathered wood during the turn so I have enough, but bringing the cards up to full screen by tapping, I can't collect the card - there's nothing to drag or tap to indicate what resource I want to pay with and tapping the card itself, the worker, etc, does nothing. Only thing that I can bring up is the help by tapping the "?". EDIT: OK this was on me (and the UI developers). When it came time to gather the card, I was tapping the *top display* to view the cards and was thus unable to pay for the card, instead of tapping the cards at the bottom area of the play board.
Thank you for bringing my #1 favorite board game back to the iPad. The game is spot on as far as cards, rules, etc. but the interface is super clunky. There was another company that made an iOS version of this game years ago, they had it right. The inteface was so simple and not at all overwhelming. I was so excited this was back on the AppStore but it seems so complicated compared to the other app. Hey, I’m just glad it’s back but look into that, the other app was soooo user friendly and this one is so congested and complicated looking. And make it look more like the board game board.
I used to play the previous app for the game and loved it so I was excited to see the game back in the App Store. The previous app was streamlined and easy to see. The app art here is great but so expansive that it can be hard to see for example the cost of the huts can be almost impossible to read. Ai grading is inelegant at best. Medium difficulty seems mostly to roll better. I’ve been playing for several days hoping to find ways around the app flaws but there are so many the game looses its playability.
Unable to complete the card section—very important area, too. Game tutorial freezes after I get to the point in which I tap the card panel: it goes to the next screen and then I cannot progress further.
Very faithful and smooth adaptation of the classic board game. I’ve played against the AI maybe 50 times and it works very well. The easy AI makes some dumb mistakes, as you’d expect, and the medium and hard AIs are good competition. So happy to have this digital edition of one of my favorite games!
This isn’t ready for prime time - there are visuals that are missing or shrunken at times (meeple is small/axe is not present) and only going to main menu and then going back to live game will they appear. Also, as mentioned before, AI rolls disproportionately high. I’ve seen two meeples produce 4 wood consecutive times. I wanted to like it but the first app was better.
