Hope you enjoy the update to this Donut classic! And thanks to all fans who've stood by Donut Games all these years.
Spikey’s Bounce Around is a game is which is a game in which had a WICKED FUN AIM N’ SHOOT ACTION!
This is a good time killer. The game is simple enough that you can start right out of the gate playing. But there are many many levels, each one more challenging than the last. On each level your given the task of freeing several butterflies and scoring points but your given a limited number of 'shots' or attempts to do so. Each level is different, with different obstacles, points to score, numbers of butterflies, and stunts to attempt to complete your goal. And each level gets harder. As you complete one level you unlock the next level. As I write this, I have managed to unlock 37 levels and I'm having quite a time unlocking the 38th level. I believe there are a total of 50 levels. And I can choose to replay any of the levels I have already unlocked to try and beat more score. In the end I'd less that this game has a lot of playability. It can be picked up and played for a quick minute or you could sit and play for much longer if you want.
Great game def. Worth the $2... Tip... Shot one, aim for the lower left hand corner of the bounce pad just tap there right after the first blade of spikes goes by... You should land in the upper left hand corner of the level and with that jump taken out the butterfly jar on the left. The next jump is tricky but totally possible.... (You must time your jump perfectly as the spikes roll around, but your ball moves as fast as the spikes...) Jump over the spinning spike from left to right over the top of the spikes... This may take a few trys. But if you angle this jump right you'll take out the second butterfly jar in the bottom right. Just work your way around the level in a clockwise pattern most of the levels work this way actually.
Excellent game Donut Games has made here. You aim you player (Spikey) kind of like you aim darts in Bloons (minus adjusting power). You have a limited number of shots to clear blocks of plants out from under jars with butterflies in them, so the jars break and the butterflies can escape! Do this to all the jars within a cetrain number of moves to win the level. The game starts easy and ramps up difficulty nicely, with new items added at a pace where each levels feels different from the last. In each of the 50 gardens (levels) there are up to three stars you can earn from meeting a score limit. The first usually comes with beating the level, the second from putting a little though in it, and the final star from clearing almost all the plants in a level. If you do try to go for the third star (which I HAVE found myself doing even thoughI am not a high score fanatic) you are going to have to utilize combos. They occur by clearing more than one block of plants in a single shot. All in all I find this game pretty entertaining as well as deep. Highly recommended at $2.99!
Other than that it's good. Can some1 help? SERIOUSLY? Wasps?! I havnt played this game in a while cuz that level is impossible! Those of u that are stuck on level 48, think of the needy people(like me) that can't get passed 23 (it's called introducing wasps). Take a minute of your time and help the world by helping me get passed level 23. Heal the world... Make it a better place... For you and for me... ©®™ I did that to catch your attention. I hope it worked!!!
This is an OK little game in the "kinetic puzzle" style that seems to be increasingly popular on the App Store. You make the spikey ball bounce around screen, with a finite number of tries to break all the glass jars. Fine, but the controls are imprecise and the physics of the movement not perfectly intuitive. You can't control the direction of the spikey ball all that well, and you can't control it's speed at all. Even worse, it can get stuck in repetitive bouncing loops which you can't interrupt. Annoying. All in all, it's OK. Neither the best nor worst of the many offerings from Donut Games.
I'm surprised as to how many people love this game. The only thing I got out of playing this was frustration. The concept is awesome and the game has the potential to be a really fun experience, it just unfortunately doesn't compensate. The further you get, the more ridiculous the requirements become to get to the next level. Some levels give you only exactly enough bounces which results in losing the level unless completed with absolute expert skill. That wouldn't be so much a problem if expert skill didn't require exact precision, which is essentially impossible to achieve with current gameplay and controls. So, for most, just to beat a level you need either incredible luck in aiming or tons of free time to repeat a level over and over and over... which is in no way worth it.
This game has some good novelty play, but the games puzzles were created with very little thought. There is a feeling playing the levels that there was no strategy put into the solutions, but rather the creator(s) simply tested the levels for a number of moves to reach a random solution, then made that number the failure point plus or minus a move. The game may be mildly entertaining, the game may be free, the character may be a good novelty, but the lack of strategy or flow is disappointing. The solutions are just random guessing like throwing the pieces on a chess board and calling it a game. Players are being too kind in their reviews. Even these free games should require more effort in creation and playability than spikey received. Sorry, but this games lack of a visible strategy is disappointing.
