A new seal has been added: Restraint. Complete a run casting ten spells or fewer. It's harder than it sounds! Happy spellbreaking!
Spellbreaker: A Word Roguelike is a stroke of design genius for fans of indie strategy games. By replacing traditional attack cards with letter tile word formation, it effectively bridges the gap between Scrabble and Slay the Spire. Every turn requires a dual layer of tactical thinking: you aren't just looking for the longest word available, but assessing which elemental spell cards that word will trigger to block incoming enemy attacks.
The synergy potential between spell cards, tile multipliers, and passive relics makes building a deck wildly entertaining. One run might focus on burning enemies with high-scoring rare letters, while another relies on spamming short, rapid-fire healing spells. With high replayability and challenging boss mechanics, Spellbreaker stands as one of the most refreshing word games available on mobile.
Innovative gameplay combining word tile puzzles, deckbuilding, and roguelikes
Over a dozen unique Guardian bosses with distinct tactical mechanics and traits
Deep card and relic synergy systems to customize your spellcaster's build
Procedurally generated dungeon maps ensuring high replayability on every run
Rich fantasy visual presentation and immersive magical sound effects
Choose your branching path across procedural dungeon maps, balancing combat encounters, mysterious shrines, merchant shops, and rest sites.
Draw letter tiles and form words to activate equipped spell cards. Longer words and rare letters deal critical magic damage.
Acquire new spell cards and passive relics between battles to build devastating elemental synergies for upcoming Guardian fights.
Spell damage scales based on word length, tile multipliers, and card synergies deployed during turn-based battle encounters.
Draft new cards, upgrade letter tiles, and adapt your deck structure across distinct dungeon biomes to defeat challenging boss Guardians.
It combines word puzzle mechanics (like Wordle/Scrabble) with roguelike deckbuilding RPGs.
Yes, dungeon paths, card drafts, relic drops, and enemy encounters are procedurally generated each run.
This is a great take on Wordle, and is especially enjoyable for the old Dungeons & Dragons players who have a little role playing under their belts. Its also a bit addicting, so be prepared when you pick up the game. You may not be able to put it down!
I’m not sure what I was expecting, but this was a surprising delight. You cast spells to solve words, mostly through deduction. It scratches a particular itch in how I like word games. Simple to figure out, and hard to put down.
