Game freezes with certain ads

Update: issue fixed! Game is awesome! I would like to see a couple improvements, but they’re not enough for me to downgrade my rating from 5 stars... namely these: a counter showing how many times I played/restarted a game before I finally won, and/or a “total time” played on a given game including all the times I didn’t win and had to restart. Thanks! I love the game play and don’t even so much mind the ads in between games or during gameplay. However, over the past two weeks, the app completely freezes such that I have to close it all the way down and restart. I couldn’t figure it out until yesterday and today... it happens when certain ads come on the game play screen. Not the ads in between games, the ads that rotate at the bottom of the screen during play. The latest offender is a Walmart ad! And when I restart the app, after a few seconds, that same stupid ad comes up and freezes the game again. I’ve ran all software updates, backups, and app updates. Nothing fixes the problem. Fix this issue, and you’re back to 5 stars!

App linking to Facebook is broken!

Like several others who have posted recent reviews, I am also unable to play with my account linked to Facebook. I am getting the error that the app is not set up, is in development mode, and I am not authorized. I have lost all of my progress - over 400 days for at least 6 of the games! I paid for the ad-free version a long time ago and feel like I have been ripped off by my inability to play. I originally sent a support ticket on October 19 and got a response telling me to uninstall then reinstall the app. Well, I ended up with a ghost app called Solitaire 2 that will not open and keeps showing up even when deleted. I even removed it from my iCloud apps. Support closed my ticket out before I had a chance to reply to them saying that their remedy was not working. I could not re-download the app because the App Store would only let me open it, which of course doesn’t work. An update came through today which I was able to download, and I was finally able to open the app. However, I am still getting the same issue with logging into Facebook. What is the point of playing if I can’t link to an account that I could transfer between devices or that recognizes my previous purchase of the ad-free version? This is my favorite game, and I am so disappointed. I have changed my previous five star review to one star. If this issue is corrected, I will write another review.

It’s the ads.

**update in response to the developer. You’ve made zero attempts to limit the ads. I have times where I watch an ad from exiting a window and then immediately get another ad when I try to resume a game. I literally have to watch an ad to watch an ad. And your “ad free” option is $10. No solitaire game is worth that much. I have never played a game with THIS many ads. It’s disgusting. ** It’s a great game. It has several types of solitaire and I enjoy playing it. HOWEVER, it is almost unplayable because of the ads. You pick a game mode? Ad. You need to check the rules again before you play after just watching an ad to open the game mode? Ad. You leave the app for any reason? Ad. I understand ads keep games free, but this is excessive. And they are all long ads with multiple skips. Ad starts and you skip. Then you have to close the App Store window. Then you skip again. And if you don’t hit right in that tiny little window of the “x” then you have to close the App Store again and try to hit the “x”. Rinse and repeat. It’s obscene. And if you play in airplane mode it won’t sync your stickers or your daily streak. Not to mention it’s ads for the same 2-3 games. I already refuse to play Royal match because of their ads, and now I have to watch 42 ads from them just play some solitaire. It would be a great game if you could actually play it.

Used to be great

I have been playing various solitaire games through this app for a while now. I really enjoy the variety of game options from spider to freecell to pyramid to kings corner. Unfortunately the ads have become more pervasive. Specifically, they intermittently ignore sound settings at the worst times. Many of the ads are longer and more resource intensive than the app itself causing a real disruption to the experience. Despite this, I have persisted in continuing to play solitaire with this app. Until now. I enjoy the concept of team rankings but I have not delved deeply into the feature. Today I finally caved and attempted the Facebook login. This completely broke the app. It immediately crashed and every further attempt to open the app results in subsequent crashes. I can’t get past the starting screen let alone attempt to do anything to resolve it. Any of my previous game data (although not very impressive) is not worth attempting a factory reset that may not even resolve the issue. I can no longer play so I have uninstalled. I’m a bit sad about this since I’m about to board a flight and my plan for the next half day essentially revolved around this 😂

Please Fix Static Noise

Overall, I really enjoy the variety of Solitaire card games provided in with this app. I’ve had this app for several years now and like using it off and on to kill some time. I like that the app provides tutorials since I sometimes forget how to play some of the games if I haven’t played in a while. I also like being able to change the card faces and backs to fit my mood or the season. I like easy to read card faces to make game play faster. As someone else mentioned, even with the option of no sound, some ads still play with sound which is annoying when you are trying not to disturb others. You can play offline to avoid ads altogether. My major concern is that even with the sound setting off, there is a soft and annoying static noise that plays constantly while on the game. It took me a while to figure out where the noise was coming from. At first I thought it was the sound of a new ceiling fan. Then I thought something was wrong with my phone. Then I realized I only hear it when I open this app. I noticed another reviewer has the exact same complaint which confirms what I noticed. I hope an update comes soon to fix this annoying sound.

Best Solitaire App <3

I never review apps but I feel very strongly about this one; I’ve downloaded several Solitaire games before and this is by far the best. There are multiple card games so you never get bored, and I now know that Classic Solitaire isn’t even my favorite one! There are seemingly endless backgrounds and card themes to choose from that you can buy with game coins you earn just by playing. There are also tutorials to help you out with the games you’ve never played before, and you can earn stickers for different achievements. On top of all that, the little messages that come up when you open up the app and the animations for when you win a game with the birds are so cute and they just make me happy and are really the cherry on top of this great app. The closest criticism I can offer is that there’s no hint feature, and you have to decide for yourself if you’ve run out of moves. I think that just makes it more fun and challenging though. All in all, 10/10, don’t waste your time with any other Solitaire apps!

It’s solitaire, what can I say!

So it’s a nice set up in theory but don’t be fooled. I like the idea of choice of decks and they have a lot of them, I also think the themes are cool. They have one for everyone. My biggest issue is clearly the stats are just them giving random stuff like “weekly best!” or all time best. Well I pay attention and I score 6500 and it says nothing but the next game is like 6200 and it will say daily best or something like that. I also noted that the leader board is always the same. I’m in NY and we get 5th no matter what. I played a lot for a week and racked up over one million points and we didn’t get any higher. Just the other four did better than the week before. It glitches on my iPhone from time to time but simply close the app and resume game. On a very positive note, no constant push to sell you points or coins. You can play pretty much non stop and it’s free. But the idea of playing for points to beat other regions is a cool one, I just wish it worked. I gave the app 3 out of 5 because it’s not bad but it’s just not great. It’s definitely a decent time killer and the developers clearly put some time into development.

Luv it, but…

I love this game and I believe I’ve played it for over three years. It could be more. It could be a little less, but I play it every day and it’s a good distraction. Sadly though I’ve been having a recurring problem and the only way to fix it is I have to delete it from my program. But when I do, I lose my point some of which are pretty high. That’s not too annoying cause I can build them up in a hurry, but I also lose my play Borge what I’m trying to get back is I lose the sound I can still get music but I like to hear the sound of the cards and I can’t figure out how to get it back. I’ve tried things and the only thing that works is to delete the program which I don’t wanna do if there’s anyway this could be fixed. That would be great. Otherwise I still play on. ***update**. The developer contacted me quickly. Thank you. I did find solution, at least I think I did. I turned off my iPad. When it started, the sound affects were back. Hopefully, this will work in the future, if anyone else has this problem, give it a try.
