Minor Bugfixes
Set a Watch: Digital Edition is a masterclass in how to port a tabletop game to mobile. It perfectly captures the tense, claustrophobic feeling of huddling around a campfire while monsters lurk in the shadows. The UI is incredibly clean, distilling complex board game components into a layout that feels natural on a touchscreen.
The depth of strategy here is immense. Every die roll feels like a critical decision—do you use that '6' to slay a high-health monster, or save it to activate a hero's unique ability? The rotation of the 'camp' hero adds a layer of resource management that forces you to plan several turns ahead. It’s a challenging game that rewards mastery and understanding of hero synergies. For solo board gamers, this is easily one of the best digital adaptations on the App Store.
Faithful digital adaptation of the board game
Solo and cooperative play modes
Multiple difficulty levels and hero combinations
Detailed tutorial for new players
Strategic dice-placement mechanics
Your dice represent your stamina. High rolls are great for killing monsters, but low rolls can often be used to trigger powerful hero abilities. Think carefully before spending a high die on a weak enemy.
The hero at camp can use their dice to perform actions like 'Scout' (looking at the monster deck) or 'Chop Wood' to keep the fire burning. A bright fire reveals more monsters, making them easier to target.
Yes, you can control all four heroes yourself in a single-player session.
Solid play but glitchy. Every game I play kicks me out once or twice. Fortunately, it lets you continue reasonably close to where you were pre-glitch. The art is great. The tutorial is excellent. The rendition is faithful. Hopefully they can patch those nasty bugs.
How am I supposed to win on the last level? Even with all four party members contributing there are just too many monsters!
The cards will lose there text and just be white so you can’t use them or exhaust them. Monsters in the line sometimes disappear so you just get attacked at the end. I think this just missed a few QA and look forward to it getting sorted. For now I wouldn’t recommend as the 2 games I played had massive bugs
Great way to play. Really needs swords of the coin to become even better
I was excited to try this app. I play a lot of digital board game apps and have always enjoyed them. This however won’t even start. I wish I hadn’t spent my $5 on it at this point.
