Update broken link
Run Legends is the first fitness game that actually feels like a *game* and not just a gamified pedometer. Most 'move-to-play' apps just track steps and give you a badge, but here, my pace actually determines if I win a boss fight. It’s incredibly motivating to know that if I just push a little harder for thirty seconds, I’ll take down a legendary Sapper.
The audio cues are well-produced and keep you immersed without needing to stare at your screen while running, which is a huge safety plus. I also love the gear system—it gives you a reason to keep coming back every day to grind for better stats. Whether you're a hardcore runner or just trying to get more steps in your day, this app makes the process genuinely exciting.
Movement-based combat mechanics.
Syncs with Health app/GPS for accurate tracking.
Co-op multiplayer missions.
Audio-only mode for focused workouts.
Inclusive design for walkers and runners alike.
Before you start, make sure your GPS is on. Begin your walk and listen for the audio cues. When an enemy appears, increase your pace to 'Power Walk' to deal damage. If your health gets low, the game will tell you to slow down to a 'Recovery Pace' to heal.
Battles are dictated by your speed. You can equip different 'Gear' which provides different skills—some might require a short sprint for a heavy attack, while others reward a steady, consistent walk. Collect loot after each run to upgrade your equipment for tougher challenges.
Yes, Run Legends supports a 'Treadmill Mode' that uses your device's accelerometer instead of GPS.
The game is easy to play right after installing! Short tutorial explains how you can play without even looking at your phone. The music is awesome and engaging, and the sound effects make running more interesting. I don’t normally like to run, but I do when it means battling monsters! First time in my life I actually look forward to running.
I for one do not enjoy running…but the concept behind this app makes it so much fun. There are I dead lots of improvement that needs to happen but that is to be expected with any type of new release. I love the speed up to attack and slow down to defend yourself mechanic. This is a really fun way to incorporate heart rate training in a unique way. My Biggest request would to be to allow some kind of heart rate monitor sync so you can use the app on a treadmill. You will loose a lot of users if they live in areas where weather doesn’t permit out door activities a few months out of the year.
I’ve been trying this game for the last day or so since it came out. The game was pretty good on my morning run, and I was able to finish 2 missions then. There is a bit of setup with the tutorial and getting onboarded, but after that it works pretty easily. For experienced runners, this entire game is basically a Fartlek run where you alternate between fast and slow paced at controlled times to train. The pace isn’t perfect and there is a slight lag but it’s enough to keep up with when I change pace. For newer runners, who have done pace change, I would recommend starting at a slower baseline and spent more for speed ups. Alternating speeds should be an big effort change until your calibrated. I’m not sure how gear works yet, so I wish the tutorials around gear were better. Also the store is a bit lackluster since it’s basically just coins.
This is a great way to have fun while getting fit. I hope to see eventual updates that allow the following: - I’d like to turn off my screen and play based on sound effects - I’d like to listen to my favorite podcasts & play - I’d like to join and host parties with strangers (or even A.I.) without leaving the app
So fun! I really don’t like running but my health is getting worse and worse so I tried this app. I know people say running makes them feel good and I BELIEVE YOU. But for me, I need something a lot more fun to get me going and this app is it!
I love the idea but of this game and how it motivates you to exercise but I use Fitbit to track my exercise data and it does not connect with that so could you please create a way to connect my Fitbit stats with this?
Amazing concept. Makes running fun. Wish you could play outside of app or on Lock Screen and audio balance with outside music streaming could be reworked. But still worth playing regardless.
I’ve been waiting for something like this for a long, long time. I find it hard to get motivation to run and this is the perfect solution! Can’t wait to start running more now!
