Not bad

It would cost almost $400 for one mythical outfit piece that’s insane I also Drew I think 60 times so far and got one piece of the outfit from the select costume draw and got a piece from a different costume that wasn’t selected even that’s insane drop rates every time I kill monsters they don’t drop anything so I can’t even craft the clothing pieces that I want. Other than that the gameplay is good and the story is decent. if it was reasonable, I would buy the berries to get the mythical pieces and other stuff but not at the rates currently.

Unbalanced, extremely P2W, and buggy

Game was fun when you first start but once you get into higher level content it is pay to win. The gap between a p2w and f2p is so wide, you won’t be able to finish equipment dungeons without the help of a whale or 2 to carry. It is really sad how the game progressed. If you are looking for a game to invest money into with no return or profit, then this is the game for you. Expect to spend thousand of dollars to get to the top of the ranking latter. Like others said, this game is not about your skills, but how much money you spent. After every pack you buy, you will be offered a top up. Odin cup- Interserver was not balanced. They put new servers that had lower level cap against the veteran server with higher cap lvl just to give them the free win. If you still insist on starting this game after getting this far in my review then please do yourself a favor and join the NEWEST server so u have a chance. Otherwise the game mods only really care about their main server PRONTERA. So join that one if u still want to play.

Deceptive practices and no customer service

This game really pushes the p2w but has terrible customer service. There was recently an event where the top 20 contributors could win an outfit pack that all of us believed had a full outfit in it. After spending thousands they updated the pack the day before the event ended to have only 1 item in it and not the full outfit. Customer service hours are at 4 am us time and there was no resolution other than too bad that’s what we changed it to. I only wish I had topped up through apple vs the game’s website so I could refund because of these bait and switch practices. Update: everything started before remains the same but now I must include that this game considers cyberbullying both in game and on their official discord. Customer service was contacted many times over bullying done to multiple different people and despite the complaints nothing was done as well as their mods participating in it. Stay away from this toxic gaming environment.

Not balanced, it’s all about getting you to spend

Like many, I played RO from when it came out over 20 years ago. I started this for Nostalgia, as I missed how it was. I really tried to like the new ROO, but it’s just difficult. Everything seems to be a chore, and there are so many systems. I particularly do not have how everything is a draw, and looks like it’s by chance. So you can’t progress just based on skills or hardworking it’s really just luck or what the game likes you to do “spending money”. All those pointless event with rewards that you can’t get until you spend money. And the game is so imbalanced PTW players are just so much stronger than f2p. PvP and GvGs are very boring because of that, it’s likely you just get one shot dead, there isn’t really much of a fight, or team work. Most GvGs we are either against guilds who do not show up or full or whales. I understand a game needs to make money. I just don’t think this is the right way.

Not fun for solo or duo players. Definitely not for casual players.

Like others said, I had fun at first, but it became a bit like a chore. There are a lot of daily tasks that’s mundane that you have to do. I am more of a solo player, and you can’t really do that in this game. I understand running around with a healer, but then you start to have to team up in a bigger group. You have to have a guild to be able to get more out of the game. I didn’t want to join a guild because I want to play when I want and not have to always be active, so I made a guild for just me and a friend. Then, I had to leave for maybe a month because of family problem and the guild automatically deleted. I guess that made it easier to quit because all the resources and money put into the guild is now gone.

Why even bother?

Once upon a time there was another version of this game that was released. I wasted time, money, and effort to become one of the strongest players on the server just for it to become unavailable and taken off to replace it with the exact same game. Its like they didn't even try and just hit reset on the game. Why are certain classes not available? All the materials, upgrades, and boosts I received all gone. But wait theres more, the amount of toxicity in this game is absurd, filter system is a joke, mods if there are even any are a joke. Also this game seems to have a system where it heavily pushes you to spend in order to compete with even PVE content. All in all I was originally from the KROO servers and I’ll say one thing, theres a reason why this game is dead and a ghost town on that server

Cool

I played the original ro and rebirth ro when I was still in school and I enjoyed those games a lot. I only found out recently that this mobile version existed and I think it is pretty good. I do think it was a lot easier to be ftp back in the day however I’m not really opposed to paying for certain things in game. I just view it as paying a price for a game you enjoy, like buying a game for the switch or something. I’m gonna continue playing and see how far I can get :)

Gambling

Extremely predatory practices. They overwhelm you with microtransactions and amazing deals and you find out it was misleading, as they provide one expensive item, that gives you a chance to roll better stats for your character, at a very low chance. Players that are strong have spent north of US$20,000 to tweak their character, and even those are dictated to play certain classes, even though the game likes to highlight the variety of them. They are aware of those imbalances and pretend they are actively working on them, but such improvements are always slow, if they ever arrive. It’s easy to lose track of spending and it can become as addictive as gambling, except casinos give you resources to fight that addiction. If you play this game on your phone, be ready for it to heat up, and drain your battery. It has impressively botched coding, so it’s not difficult to find bugs that cause poor performance. But I am sure a fix is coming soon!!!!
