Riding Hero is a fascinating piece of history, being one of the few attempts at an RPG-style story mode in an early arcade motorcycle game. While the racing itself is standard vertically-scrolling sprite action, the 'WGP' mode where you buy parts and talk to NPCs is surprisingly ahead of its time. It gives the racing a sense of context and stakes that was rare in 1990.
The mobile port is solid, though the controls take some getting used to as they require precise 'leaning' to avoid sliding out on corners. The graphics are charmingly retro, featuring that classic NeoGeo 'chunky' sprite look. Like other ACA titles, the ability to save states is a godsend for the difficult later races. It’s a must-play for fans of retro racing games like Hang-On, offering a bit more depth than your average arcade quarter-eater.

In Riding Hero, you need to let go of the throttle before initiating a sharp turn. If you try to turn while at max speed, your bike will drift to the outer edge and likely crash into a sign.
Invest your first winnings into 'Tires'. Better tires reduce the chance of sliding during corners, which is much more valuable than a slightly higher top speed in the early races.
Yes, all ACA NeoGeo games fully support Bluetooth and MFi controllers for an authentic arcade feel.
