Princess Farmer is a breath of fresh air. It takes the match-3 formula and turns it into an 'action-puzzle' game by making you move a character around the grid. This simple shift makes the gameplay feel much more engaged than just swapping tiles. But the real star is the atmosphere. It is relentlessly charming, inclusive, and genuinely funny.
The 'cozy' vibes are off the charts, but the puzzle gameplay can actually get quite challenging if you turn up the difficulty. The visual novel segments are well-written, with a cast of characters that feel unique and lovable. It’s a game that values kindness and friendship as much as it does high scores. It’s a perfect example of an indie game with a clear vision and a ton of heart.
Unique 'pull and match' gameplay
Inclusive and charming story
Loads of unlockable outfits
Multiple difficulty modes
Unlike traditional match-3 games, you move the Princess Farmer across the grid to pull veggies out of the ground and replant them elsewhere to create matches. It's much more active and tactical!
Between puzzle stages, engage in visual novel style dialogues. The relationships you build can unlock new outfits and items to help you on your quest.
Not exactly—while it has a farming theme, the core gameplay is match-3 puzzles and story interactions.
I started playing this game and really loved the characters and world. But when the puzzles started getting harder I found myself stumbling with the controls. It may be because my phone is smaller but I had a very hard time and uninstalled it soon after.
This game is so much fun! Not only does it have a fun puzzle game, it’s complete with wonderful characters, great world-building, and fun dialogue. The 8-bit style is so cute, and beyond the aesthetics, the storyline is amazing. There are a few role playing/simulation games out there with a queer “option,” but this game is so full of queer joy and celebration that it raises the bar. I hope to see more from the developers (and maybe future additions to the Princess Farmer collection)! Only critique I have is that the puzzle can get repetitive at times. While each level had unique variables, it was difficult to develop a strategy rather than rely on luck.
Looking for a fun match-3 puzzle game that is overtly queer? Look no further. Immerse yourself in the customizable gameplay styles of Princess Farmer, whether you want something slow and easy or fast and challenging— or a mix of both! Meet the really colorful and engaging characters as the very lovingly indulgent magical girl plot unfolds. Can’t believe it’s free for mobile! You better be playing it after the beautiful developers gave us such a wonderful gift!
I love the lgbtqia+ representation here, as well as the concept and how it’s built, controls are not bad as people make it to be, I think they are great and solid. The game is fairly short but perfectly long enough to be enjoyable, the story is fantastic, as well as the characters. Everything about this game was magnificent to me. And honestly, I hope we get more Princess Farmer someday in the future.
A lot of time and love went into this game and it clearly shows! The artwork animations are absolutely adorable and so well done and all the characters are just plain cute as heck! I would definitely recommend trying it out
This is by far the cutest, funnest game ever! I love the different characters and puzzles. The styles of play are very unique and fun. As a lesbian, I love that this game has lesbian characters. I hope that you continue to update this game with many more fun chapters and characters.
It’s a unique take on a match 3 game with cute pixel art and characters and an interesting story. Ignore those triggered snowflake conservatives in the reviews, they’re just mad because it contains the word lesbian. Give it a shot if you like casual puzzle games and cute bunny girls.
I'm on an older iPad, updated to its maximum iOS version and release. I think it's a 5th generation. When I try to run this game, I get a splash of Princess Farmer, an animation of white thorn games, an animation of samobee, a longish purple screen, cottage shoppe, and a crash. The game simply goes away. It's still in the background, and does the same thing if I start it again. It sounds like a cute game, but I simply cannot get it to work.
