Pool Masters: 8 Ball Pool is a triumph of mobile physics. Having played many billiards games, I was struck by how 'heavy' the balls feel—they don't just slide around like hockey pucks; they have realistic friction and momentum. The touch interface for adding spin (English) is intuitive, allowing for some truly impressive trick shots once you get the hang of it. It’s one of those rare games where the skill ceiling is genuinely high.
The progression system is also well-paced. You start in small-town bars and work your way up to high-stakes luxury clubs. The variety of cues isn't just cosmetic; the subtle differences in power and aim-line length make collecting them feel necessary rather than just a hobby. If there’s any downside, it’s that the tournament wait times can be a bit long during off-peak hours, but the quality of the 1-on-1 matches more than makes up for it.
Highly realistic physics engine
1-on-1 matches and 8-player tournaments
Wide range of customizable cues
Daily challenges and rewards
Don't just hit the balls; think about where the cue ball will land for your next shot. Use the 'English' (spin) feature to curve the ball or stop it dead to set up a perfect run.
Winning matches earns you coins and rank points. Higher-level tables have higher entry fees and bigger payouts, but you'll be facing the toughest players in the world.
Yes, you can play offline in practice mode to refine your shots without spending coins.
There are some issues with mechanics for lack of a better word. Sometimes it seems like ball in hand other times not, just a little inconsistency but it could be me. they’ve done a great job and I look forward to their next release. Graphics are great. Generally follows the typical pool apps just with a few mechanical things with the stick that seem glitchy.
Game is fun but for some reason… 1. Games keep freezing up, typically when I’m doing well, and remain seemingly unresponsive until I restart the app. Waited 5 minutes more than once before resetting. EVERYTIME I log back in my money is gone like I lost the match even though I was well ahead when it happened. 2. I don’t quite understand the rules or gameplay. Several times I’ll pocket a ball on break and my opponent immediately gets a shot even though I just hit one in. Sometimes, usually 10k and above, my opponent breaks and pockets a stripe then they get a follow up shot where they’ll pocket two easy solids in a row and I end up being stripes even though they hit stripes in first and vice versa. Aside from all that game is fun…
I know it just came out but when I shoot a shot it changed right when I release causing me to miss my shot or not hit the ball all together. I’ll be aiming at the corner pocket and it will make me hit the bumper or miss right when I release to take the shot. If you disconnect and reconnect automatically the game will not continue. It will show you no cues and the opponents balls. If you disconnect you lose 100%. Which caused me to lose a game because with mini clip pool you disconnect and reconnect and start from where you disconnected.
In a recent update it is now doing something called Server is Running a Simulation. And all of a sudden the table is in a different configuration, plays you just made are now gone, even table ownership changes. All fine and dandy if this is a way to deal with latency but not when you’re playing for 1/2 million. And then they are also now pairing aces with novices and everything in between so once again playing for a 1/2 million becomes aggravating when your playing against someone 5 ranks above you or more.
This game feels authentic, genuine like an actual pool table game. It has some much potentials. Developers should think of having a facebook connection type of thing, where people can play across platforms with their social media accounts not just apple ID. That would increase the match makings and also let options for people to keep their own Facebook profile picture. It would beat all the other pool games no cap!
I like that the cues dont need energy anymore, one problem I had was that I matched for a 50k match and I matched against a bot. The game never started and it took me back to the main menu and took all my coins (I went all in) idk why it made me lose the match when it never even started
Another 8 Ball Pool game. Very limited with options; cannot change profile picture, upgrades for cues are mediocre. Cannot exit a match without closing out the entire app, cannot view your entire profile, etc. Most recently, the app deleted my profile and made me start over from level one, and no, you CANNOT recover your account and data through the app. But it’s fun when it works, IF it works. Don’t waste your time.
Very often, when going into a new match, the game will deduct the entry fee, show the result of the previous match, and return me to the table selection screen. Fix this bug, please. This tends to happen when I’m matched with a bot, i.e. (color)(animal) or “greenpig” or “bluemonkey.” I have lost tons of money to this glitch, and you’re getting 1 star until it’s fixed. You can pay to remove this review, but I’ll keep rewriting it if you do. Just fix the bug.
