[ITEMS]
- Most equipment effects now have levels. Unlike rings, an item’s quality affects only the number of effects; their level can be any (from 1 to 3). The level of an item’s base effect (if it has one) depends on the item’s quality
- Smithing gems (Ruby, Opal, and others) now have 3 quality tiers. The higher the gem’s quality, the higher the level of the effects it applies
- Smithing gems can now be combined up to tier 3 (requires upgrading the Enchanting Table to level 3)
- At the Forge, you can now quickly combine all potions in your inventory (requires upgrading the Alchemical Laboratory to level 4)
- 2 new artifacts have been added - more powerful versions of the Claw and the Frog Leg; the icons for these items have also been updated
- "Phalanx Shard" has been replaced with "Obsidian Shard": the item’s name and appearance have been updated
[GENERATION]
- A new small lair has been added - "Secret Sanctuary". The gate can appear in any location
[GAMEPLAY]
- After changing the behavior type for summoned undead, all subsequent creatures summoned by the Necromancer will automatically use the same behavior type
- Creatures set to "aggressive" behavior will try to position themselves in front of the character
[MISC]
- Many creatures now remain as corpses on the ground after being killed (can be disabled in Settings)
- The Golem pet is now fully animated
- The Zombie Crossbowman and the Ancient Guardian are now animated
- After visiting one-time gates to sub-locations and bosses, they will not disappear; they will remain on the map, but in a destroyed state
- Goblin Druids now summon a Rat Spirit instead of a regular Rat
- Special sound and visual effects have been added for items that drop with Epic quality or higher ("Other Effects" must be enabled in Settings)
- All chests, the iron barricade, the ranged barricade (with and without spikes), and the four-way shooting trap now visually break apart gradually
- The Blood Circle is now displayed on the mini-map
- Added a sound for torches in hand and on the wall, as well as a crunching sound when moving over snow
[BALANCE]
- All equipment and weapon effects have been rebalanced
- Stat values can no longer fall below 0 due to curses or perk penalties
- The attack range of the starter Zombies and Skeletons summoned by the Necromancer has been increased
- The "Laceration" curse now fills the Bleed gauge by a random amount for each hit taken (instead of having a chance to apply the effect instantly)
[INTERFACE]
- Updated the icons of some effects and items
- Updated and clarified the descriptions of many equipment and weapon effects
- Effect icon backgrounds in the inventory now change depending on each effect’s level
- Descriptions of smithing gems, ingots, and artifacts can now be collapsed
- Inventory slots now play an animation when tapped/clicked
- Additional defense and damage types are now shown at the Forge when upgrading an item
- When the "Bleeding" effect is applied, the on-screen visual effect will not be shown if "Blood" is disabled in Settings
[FIXED]
- Fixed a critical Unity vulnerability present in outdated engine versions
- Fixed an issue where the "Add. Lighting" setting didn't work on iPhone and iPad
- The experience bonus granted after building the Tavern was calculated incorrectly and was too low
- The "Carrot and Stick" modifier, when taking damage, reduced not only current experience but also active experience modifiers
- The "Storm" weapon effect could not drop on most types of swords and daggers
- The "Payroll Records" effect increased experience gained instead of the amount of gold
- After animation updates, the Slime stopped using ranged attacks
- After repeatedly saving and loading the same floor (for example, by using many Runes of Greed on one floor), the game could freeze
- Ghostly creatures could teleport to zero coordinates if they finished their attack inside a wall
I started out with the free version of the game, and it only took about two hours for me to buy the upgrade to ultimate edition. Regularly updated, a variety of places, creatures, items, and more keep the game interesting even after 100 hours of playtime. That’s only on one character class, too. Easily can see a thousand hours with this game. An excellent game well worth the price of the ultimate edition. And to the developer: you’ve done such and excellent job at putting this game together. The textures are great and match the games vibe well. It would be wonderful if you added even more weapons and armor types, and the ability to forge duplicate gems into higher quality versions with enhanced effects when socketed into items. An update to add better compatibility with a Dualsense PS5 controller would be great, not all the buttons work as they are intended with it. Not game ruining, though. The ability to dual class would be sweet too, being able to use the abilities of a second class (ie Hunter being able to use Warrior abilities). Overall an amazing game, quite possibly one of the best games available on the app store currently.
Absolutely amazing dungeon crawl. Inventory and skill management is intuitive. Very reminiscent to the early Diablo era games. Plunge infinitely to the depths of an ever changing dungeon. Each biome has its nuances that keep you guessing. Bosses can be repetitive due to the small amount of them. That being said it is also the essence of why we love the genre. hunting for an ultimate gear and skill combo. Plus menu+ *Extremely limited glitches and bugs, especially in the new update. *sleek and responsive gameplay. Little lag/kill that is extremely prevalent in the mobile genre today. *item variety, skill variety, class variety, gameplay variety. (Replayability. Maybe the most important) *No ads, and limited pay to play options that make this game stand out. Minus menu- *limited amount of bosses. (More soon to come, hopefully!) *inventory management could use some work. Maybe a +/- system, especially in personal chests. Instead of taking all the items of one kind out just to put them back in with an updated total. That would be nice. *more magical/elemental defense options in equipment. High level dungeons raids can net you an easy one hit death to certain enemies regardless of L/M/H defense points. All in all. An excellent game. Worth every penny. I play every day.
About 3 years ago I grabbed the free version of Pocket Rogues, and enjoyed it. A lot. But the lack of characters made me want more. Enter Ultimate. 😀 Years later, I still play this at least once a week (I’d have to guess my overall average is once every 3 days), and with all the content and changes that have been done (go ahead, read through the update logs, it’ll only take you about 15-20 minutes 🤪), it feels a lot like a title from one of my favorite dev teams, Trese Brothers, as far as post-launch support goes, and I’ve got nothing but respect for that kind of developer, especially these days. I’d you’re a fan of dungeon crawlers or challenging action games with more than a handful of different characters you can get to know the ins and outs of, you’d be doing yourself a solid picking this up. If you need to know more before taking the plunge, there’s that nifty free version that got me hooked. 😃 As far as I’m concerned Pocket Rogues is a MUST OWN iOS title. 🍻🍻🍻 big thank you to the dev for sticking with this one! You’ve earned yourself another fanboy.
I've never wrote a review but this is a game I see myself playing long term, if youre into anime, dungeons and dragons or anything inbetween you'll probably like the game. It has endless levels and dungeons all with cool and op monsters. it gives you options to choose a class, level up certain things like endurance, agility, strength etc. as well as the specific powers/moves you choose. In game when youre in the dungeon you can find artifacts, potions, food, weapons, armor and so much more. Down the line you can even combine artifacts and special things to create more powerful stuff!! its truly a long term and strategic game:) I really like it because its a challenge.
It didn’t take me long to get the ultimate version. I really like this game. I will say there have been two bugs that I’ve noticed though. When you dash into a wall at the right angle you will go absolutely flying. It’s quite funny but I’m pretty sure it’s not supposed to do that😂. And I’m pretty sure the second bug just has to do with my graphics, but when I pick up a lot of gold or just items in general, the game kind of stutters and lags, but other than that, I love it. but I will say the most annoying enemy in the game is those little bats that teleport to you and if they’re high enough level, just absolutely obliterate you.
I can’t buy the potions that give skill point, one or 10. I have thousands upon thousands of green gems I have saved since I’ve had this game for years, now I can’t do anything with them! I really don’t feel like grinding for a year or so FOR EACH CHARACTER to unlock everything, and the inability to buy potions looks like a bug anyway. Oh, and increasing price for respec potions until they’re unaffordable is a horrible design decision. That’s something even Diablo III knew to avoid. Besides, if there’s no cap you risk having an overflow error for people that play for years. I’ve been playing this since it was available on iPhone.
I like the game a ton, it may be grindy at first, but later on, it’s very fun. There are two little problems: the grinding in the early-game, and the abilities. The abilities are not quite balanced, e.g. the necromancer’s normal attacks being a projectile that does medium damage but when you upgrade it it turns into 3 projectiles. Or a slightly debuffing SINGLE projectile that does small damage. The choice is obvious. Then the early game grinding. Its a minor issue, as this is a mobile game, it should really be played in long car rides or something. Not a game you regularly play. (IMO) anyway sorry for the lengthy review, I hope this helps! I’ve been playing this game for almost a year. It’s a 5 star game with a few bugs and somewhat infrequent updates. Not a big deal except for when I get a character with awesome items and I’m plunging down levels. I’ll play this character for days. Until suddenly it just loses my saved game Seeing this several times on 1.34 on games days old. If I fail to play at least once a day it gives me the “load saved dungeon” option screen and loads a blank game. Yikes! Hope you can focus and fix this. Terrible to lose more than a week of progress.
