PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo is a chilling horror-mystery adventure set in the Sumida Ward of Tokyo during the late 20th century. Follow a cast of characters who have been granted the 'Power of Curses,' each tied to a local urban legend. Using a unique 360-degree panoramic view, you must explore authentic locations, interrogate suspects, and engage in deadly curse battles. Your choices will determine who lives and who dies as you attempt to perform a forbidden Rite of Resurrection.

Our Expert Score

94/100

PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo is a masterpiece of the visual novel genre. Square Enix has crafted a narrative that is both genuinely terrifying and intellectually stimulating. The 360-degree panoramic investigation mechanic is a stroke of genius, making you feel like a participant in the scene rather than just a passive reader. You’ll find yourself constantly spinning the camera, paranoid that something—or someone—is standing right behind you.

The 'Curse Battle' system is what truly elevates the game. It’s a high-stakes game of psychological cat-and-mouse where you must deduce the activation conditions of your opponent's curse while hiding your own. The story’s meta-elements and branching timeline are handled with incredible sophistication; it’s one of those rare games where 'dying' is often a necessary part of uncovering the truth. It is atmospheric, brilliantly written, and a must-play for any fan of horror or mystery.

Partial Controller Support?
Sun Feb 22 2026 Hip-Hop116

I was excited to try this on iOS after having played the first one on Switch. I noticed that the game seems to work almost entirely with a controller…except for the missing cursor on screen. It seems like the cursor might even be invisible as using the left stick makes the camera behave similarly to controlling the cursor on other systems, but without a way of interacting with the characters or objects. Touch controls work fine, but I hope this gets updated

Amazing but not working (spoilers)

Let me start with I love this game series and this game is awesome too! However I am unable to progress in the story because something isn’t working properly. I tried using the link for tech support but they aren’t helping me either, I really want to finish the game and I’m super frustrated. If this gets resolved I’d be more than happy to change my rating! Spoilers below oooooo So I’m at the point where I need to activate the true ending by getting the mermaid on the home screen to turn around. I’m tapping her the exact way the game says to but nothing happens, I’ve tried everything including resetting my phone and redownloading a backup. I’m super invested in this story and up until this point was fully enjoying myself, this sucks.
