Various iOS 13 fixes.
I love love this game and grew up playing it on Xbox, while it’s great to have on my phone ( and I do have an older gen IOS 8) my game won’t go past a certain point on :Soon to be Brewery, and it’s frustrating! I was able to beat it once. I’m not sure why the game won’t let me pass these deadzones but I can’t say how many times previously it has crashed when I enter a random spot and I either need to avoid it or start two levels back. It’s frustrating because you have to always save to make sure that you don’t have to lose all your progress.
Let me start by saying this game is incredible, Munch’s Oddysee was one of my favorite games on the original Xbox and when I found out there was an iPhone port, I had to play. I first downloaded it about a year ago and it played incredibly. Beat it in its entirety and had no complaints. I then got a new phone and with that, the game was deleted. I redownloaded it yesterday hoping to play it again only to find some pretty severe bugs. The controls are almost unusable. I wish I could upload a picture of my screen. Instead of the intuitive controls, what appears is a jumble of the iPhone controls and even some Xbox options (X/Y button)? I have no idea what’s going on but I can’t even pass the first level with the controls like this... I don’t know what patch caused this, all I know is it did a lot more harm than good. Hope to see some improvements soon and I will update my review once those changes happen!
I played this so much as a kid and seeing this on the AppStore made my day. This is an amazing port of the timeless classic and I couldn't be more impressed! Not only does it feel just like playing the original, but the better graphics makes it that much better. The controls are spot on, and it makes me even more glad to have the ability to customize the control layout. Everything about this game is perfect. Pros: -basically everything. Nitpicks: -The audio settings seem too limited. There are times where I can't hear the characters speak because of the background noise, and I can't do anything to change that. There should be an option to change only the volume of the voices in the game. -The game doesn't automatically save inbetween levels. I lost and hour and a half worth of progress because my phone died and I forgot to save. It kind of sucked tbh. -There are a few times where the frame rate goes down. This is usually when a lot is happening on screen, so it is understandable (and it happened on the original, too). Conclusion: This is absolutely a perfect port for the perfect game. A must have for every gamer.
I never write reviews for apps or rate them but this one is worthy. The graphics and story are just like those from the original xbox! Not only did i feel the joy of nostalgia playing this, but an eerie bliss that can only stem from a game as abstract as this one. I love munch and abe and the oddworld. I played this game growing up and it was and still is my all-time favorite. Im just glad a version came out for the iphone and came out so good. I use the iphone 6, and have not experienced a single glitch yet. This is one of those very few apps that truly deserves five stars out of five. Now id just love them to come out with another munchs oddyssee game for xbox one or another for the iphone. Id pay for it
Excellent game and very nostalgic. Playing this brings back so many great memories from being a child - it was by far my favorite game on the original Xbox. The port is surprisingly playable on a touch screen, and there were some minor tweaks made to the gameplay to accommodate that. However, the game keeps crashing and because you have to manually save, I lose all progress I made unless I save constantly. The game will have audio slowly fade away and I’ll have about 20 seconds or so before it crashes, but the pause button stops working and I don’t have the ability to save my game before the app closes out completely. Fix this issue and you’ll have a five star rating from me for sure.
I recently decided to purchase an original Xbox so I can relive some of the wonderful video games of my childhood. While awaiting its arrival, I got a strange curiosity to search the App Store for Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee and there it was!! I've been playing this game and it truly is a blast from the past. This game is by far one of my all-time favorites and it brings a thrill that Call of Duty games just can't compete with. Oddworld Inhabitants Inc., you have absolutely outdone yourself and brought me so much happiness. Thank you for allowing myself and many others to recapture some of the finer moments in gaming history.
please please pleaaasse patch the bugs, i can’t get munch out of vykker’s labs without it crashing out of the app. my save point is literally the little body of water right in front of the doorway and every time i try to go through it, the app dies on me. otherwise everything is great! it gives me so much nostalgia. controls are easy to use, especially since they’re similar enough to the iOS port of stranger’s wrath and i just played through that one again. pleaaassseeee do a quick lil update so we can finish the game :’)
Absolutely loved this game would love to give it 5 stars but I got a little more than half way through and I can’t finish the game. I got to the boiler room and no matter how many times I try it crashes when I almost finish the level. Its a great game but be prepared for crashes. Hopefully it will be fixed one day and I can come back and finish it. Don’t spend money until you know if its fixed or not. Im so bummed finally made it to the end after so many crashes I can’t count, and now Im at the end and can’t finish it do to the crashing. Time to delete and find a new game.
