In this update, our team of Moshlings have been hard at work improving the experience of the Moshi Kids app!
Moshi Kids is a gold standard for children's wellness apps. As a parent, finding content that is both high-quality and genuinely calming can be a struggle, but Moshi delivers on every level. The sleep stories (Sleepies) are beautifully written and narrated with a melodic, soothing tone that effectively lulls children into a relaxed state.
What’s most impressive is the breadth of the content. It’s not just for bedtime; the mindfulness and emotional regulation exercises are fantastic tools for helping children navigate 'big feelings' during the day. The interactive elements are gentle and educational, focusing on cognitive skills without the over-stimulation found in many other kids' apps. It’s a subscription-based service, but for the peace of mind and the quality of sleep it provides, it is an investment worth every penny.
Scientifically-backed sleep stories and sounds
Guided meditations and breathing exercises
100+ interactive educational activities
Personalized recommendations based on age
Expert-designed content for emotional regulation
Browse the 'Sleep' tab to find a story or soundscape. Set the timer to ensure the audio fades out after your child falls asleep. Use the 'Favorites' feature to save the stories that work best for your routine.
During the day, use the 'Relax' section to find short breathing exercises or tapping videos that help children manage big emotions. Switch to 'Play' for character-themed puzzles and coloring.
It uses melodic narration and calming soundscapes to lower heart rates and help children transition into deep sleep.
I am a 70 year old who has had trouble sleeping for years. I have tried many things, including nature sounds, music and stories besides bedtime habits, reading, etc. I tried Moshi Twilight by mistake and have found it amazingly helpful. The stories are cute but not so interesting that they keep me alert (or irritated). I love the music attached to the Sleep Stories, and sometimes I switch to Music only or to Meditation. There is a library of items and I can relisten to a favorite or randomly select an old one. I enjoy new selections as they come along and may or may not like them. I use the app when needed at bedtime or when I wake up in the middle of the night. I have a wireless headband with speakers that connects to Bluetooth so it won’t bother my husband. Previous sleep “fixes” have helped me for temporarily, but Moshi has been working for 6 months. It helps me fall asleep probably 90% of the time. I am a little embarrassed that this is a product for children, but am so glad I have found it! I often have difficulty understanding the words in the songs, which bothers me (I guess I sing along in my head). The support staff have been very helpful with supplying the missing words. I don’t have little ones that I am putting to sleep, but I wholeheartedly recommend this for adults! Others may also find it just perfect.
This app has completely changed our bedtime routine and our lives!!! I was extremely skeptical to even try it. Thanks to everyone who took the time to write reviews I thought ok what the heck. Our child was a non-sleeper since birth. Hours for put down and multiple times getting up each night. Everyone kept telling us oh she’ll sleep. She never did. EVER. As she hit 3 the bedtimes just got worse. Fighting, yelling, crying, for hours. I was at my wits end. I was about to purchase melatonin and I remembered seeing an ad for Moshi a while back. I wasn’t thrilled with the price but the free trial and amazing reviews sold me. First night she picked Sleepy Paws and was out in 10 minutes. 10 MINUTES!!! I sat there is disbelief. I thought ok, this is just a fluke, maybe she’s really tired today. So the next night again less than 10 minutes! Night after night she looked forward to picking out a story. We always end up with Sleepy Paws, it’s her absolute favorite. This miracle has ended bedtime fights and lulls her to sleep pretty quick. Some nights are longer than others but the complete elimination of fighting and yelling has made this worth every single penny! We’re over a month into using this and it is still working it’s magic!
My family has had Moshi for many years for my two boys. We initially got it for my older son (aged 6) and now we use it for both of them (the other is almost 3). We use it every night to help them sleep (and stay asleep). Tip - it works on grown ups too! I especially like the Moshling of the Opera overture :) this year I even found out that my older son’s school is using Moshi to teach them how to relax and be patient using some of the speaking Moshi’s vs. music. My son asked if he could listen to the same ones at home that he listened to in school. But, my glowing review isn’t just about the product. It’s also about the shining star they have behind the scenes. Her name is Bexy and she is their Head of Customer Experience & Community Operations. In short she is one of the kindest human beings I have ever (virtually) met. She genuinely cares about the customers and their families in a way that is so heartwarming. If Bexy’s supervisors read this, you can’t ever lose her. Thank you Bexy so very much for all your help whenever I’ve needed it, and the extra steps you’ve taken to make me and my boys feel so very special and appreciated by the Moshi family!
I rarely take time to leave reviews but it’s worth sharing that this app is incredible. My 3 year old is generally emotionally adjusted and a good, self soothing sleeper. Recently we went through a big life event, moving cross country, and he’s been a little bit *extra* with understandably big feelings as we adjust to a new environment, new routines, a new school. During the transition, i was a little bit too lax with screen time and now he’s somewhat dependent on the iPad to help lull himself to sleep. Unfortunately, just like so many adults on our nightly “death scroll” there’s a noticeable shift when he wants to play games and continue to stimulate the senses when his little mind just needs to relax. Enter Moshi. Game changer! He loves choosing something each night and you really can’t go wrong with all the content having a universally appealing but non stimulating aesthetic. He absolutely loves the trains and pandas. I love that he’s engaged but able to wind down. Now he’s even taken an interest in some of the guided content about taking turns, conflict resolution and so forth. Thank you so much for creating something so special.
Listen ya’ll, this is a game-changer. I was apprehensive about this app, but it’s working for us. My four-year-old daughter is so difficult at night. She has boundless energy and every night it’s a battle of the wills to get her to go to sleep. Some nights it’s so bad that my husband and I tag-team. “I give up, it’s your turn to try.” We have tried reading to her, singing to her, doing a routine; but it’s always a struggle. Then, one day I saw an add for for Moshi as I was searching for a recipe or something, I don’t remember. Okay, I was probably on Facebook watching a video of otters swimming or something- Not thinking about what to feed my family. I thought, “meh, free trial for bedtime stories, why not? I’ll give it a whirl.” So, I turned it on for the tornado child that night and I kid you not, she drifted off within ten minutes! The second night she said she didn’t like it, but she still listened and it only took fifteen minutes. The third night I let her pick the story and it only took six minutes for her to drift off! We’re on night five of shorter, easier bedtimes! Sold!
This should be a 5 star review! I seriously have nothing but good things to say about the app. However, I have had this app since it was “Moshi Twilight.” I first heard of Sleepy Paws when the Calm App featured this as a new kids story. I’ve been here since day 1… so to DOUBLE the cost of subscription is outrageous! My subscription was canceled with NO WARNING, I got an email stating my subscription has ended at the same time I got and email stating my account was canceled. 🤨 I had no time to fix the problem (exp card issue). Now, they want me to resubscribe for “50% off” (thanks) but next year I will be charged $80! What?! My child and I listen to maybe 3 stories and some sounds. (And no, the free version does not include my daughter’s fave character’s story.). We don’t play the games (she’s not a baby anymore), or use any special feature you’ve added. If you’re just going to increase cost when you add new features, think of doing tiered pricing, so that those of us who just want to go to sleep or calm ourselves with soothing music aren’t paying for features we didn’t ask for. I’m so disappointed.
We have a four year old who has struggled with sleep from day one. Her energy and personality are bright during the day - and so hard for her to turn off at night. For the last 2+ years, a parent had to be in the room for her to be able to calm down enough to sleep. We eventually used melatonin (with her pediatrician’s blessing!) because her inability to sleep was leading to behavior problems during the day (and before someone blames our parenting - we have a rock solid bedtime routine, and our younger daughter has NEVER had problems sleeping). During my pregnancy with my younger daughter I often listened to Hypnobabies tracks while falling asleep, and loved how calm and relaxed they made me feel. I wondered if something similar would help my big kid fall asleep by herself. Enter Moshi Twilight. From the first night, she loved it. Picking out her “sleep story” is now something she looks forward to every night. And the best part? We don’t have to stay in her room for hours rubbing her back to help her fall asleep! We’re not using melatonin any more, and her behavior is better during the day. Thank you Moshi!!
Bedtime is an issue with my three year old. She has trouble winding down at night. She quit naps at 18 months mostly because I was so tired of fighting her to sleep. Hours upon hours of tears and books and cuddles and begging her to go to sleep. All for her to wake up early the next day, tired because she didn’t get enough sleep. I was always against medications, even natural ones like melatonin. I didn’t want her to become dependent on it. But after years of struggling I began to contemplate whether I should or not. I have had this App for two days. And both nights she was out within 15-20 minutes. I can hardly believe it. I know it’s only been two days but I could seriously cry...I am a huge skeptic with absolutely everything. I was skeptical about this. Even after seeing all of the amazing reviews. I didn’t think it would work for us but I was absolutely desperate. And turns out it did. Better than I could have imagined. I’ll update this in a few months to let you know if it kept working. But for these past two nights....wow. Thank you so much!!!
