Maneater on mobile is a surprisingly competent port of the 'ShaRkPG' hit. There is something profoundly satisfying about the power fantasy of starting as a tiny, vulnerable pup and growing into a city-destroying megalodon. The 'Try & Buy' model is a consumer-friendly touch, allowing you to get a feel for the aquatic controls before committing to the full open-water carnage.
The RPG elements are surprisingly deep for a game about a shark. Customizing your build with 'Electric Teeth' or 'Shadow Fins' completely changes how you engage with the human hunters and apex predators like alligators. The mobile performance holds up well, even during chaotic fights with multiple bounty hunter boats. The humorous narration—delivered in the style of a nature documentary—remains the highlight, keeping the gore lighthearted and the progression entertaining.

Hunt 'Albino' prey to gather Mutagens. In the early game, stick to the sewers of Crawfish Bayou to level up safely before taking on the larger apex predators in the open ocean.
Visit your Grotto to equip evolutions. Mixing parts from different sets (like Bone and Shadow) can create a versatile shark capable of both high defense and blinding speed.
You can play through the entire first region (Crawfish Bayou) for free before deciding to unlock the full game.
i downloaded the Try & Buy and purchased the full game. But i’m not able to get any achievement from progress
I used to play Maneater on my Xbox and I really had a blast playing it so when I seen that it was available on iPhone I was blown away. This is the try and buy version (I would have just bought the full version didn’t know it was available separately cause it’s annoying knowing it will always say try and buy version, but whatever) I am playing on 17 pro max and it runs really good, but this is an intensive game so expect even this phone to get hot playing it. This game also has a 120htz option for gameplay and it is BUTTERY smooth when I show people this game on my iPhone they get blown away
This is the first time I have ever gone back and given a review unprompted. I almost didn’t pull the trigger on this game due to the low review count. It’s been fantastic. No IAP other than the game upgrade. A little clunky on the controls in some ways but overall great game. I’ve basically played at every opportunity. At 9.5 hrs I still haven’t finished showing the amount of content. If you can try to play with audio. Really makes it better.
I downloaded the demo to try out the game, but after purchasing the full game from within the demo I’m still stuck with this version? It’s a fun game and works great on my iPhone 15 Pro Max, but I’m a bit OCD and seeing “Maneater - Try & Buy” app is kinda giving me the ick, especially after purchasing the full game, shouldn’t it convert to “Maneater” after purchasing?
It was amazing I had so much fun I loved the game and also completed the whole game though I would suggest playing with controller it makes it so much easier to play.
The game players OK, and the game seems fine. But playing takes so long to get started. After downloading from the App Store, you have to download 1.3 GB of additional data, and you can’t go do other stuff while you’re waiting. Then, every time the game loads, you gotta sit through 30 seconds to a minute of brands and logos scrolling across the screen. Once in the game, even on an iPad Pro, M4, I have to wait about a minute, every mission for shaders to render.
Game runs great on my 17 pro max. Play this game on my Xbox before. Crazy that I can play it on my phone, I used a GameSir controller and it’s a lot of fun
Everything is good , there only needs a advance grapics setting like more detailed reselution , fov , water reflection and rendering option
