Our Expert Score

86/100

Left to Survive is a rare beast: a mobile zombie shooter that actually feels like it has a soul. While many games in this category are mindless 'lane shooters,' this one combines base-building, resource management, and high-octane cover-based shooting. The shooting mechanics are surprisingly tight, with weapons feeling distinct and impactful. The gore and sound design contribute to a genuinely tense atmosphere during the survival missions.

I was particularly impressed by the PvP raids. Attacking another player's base using a helicopter provides a nice change of pace from the standard zombie-slaying. The base-building isn't just filler either; it's essential for your survival and progression. It’s a well-rounded package that offers plenty of content for both solo players and those looking for a competitive edge. It’s polished, visceral, and keeps the 'walking dead' fantasy alive and well.

I am able to keep up with spenders, amazing graphics & best real time PVP 😎
Mon Oct 08 2018 Keen-Man

I have been playing for a few months now. Unlike countless games out there, I am able to keep up with spenders by being very strategic in how I play the events, so I can acquire some of the best weapons with the best skills. The rest of the best weapons in the game need keys acquired from events. Once you earn the keys, opening crates will either require luck and patience or spending to acquire the rest of the best weapons. The graphics are some of the best right now and the real time PVP is something I’ve been waiting for in a mobile game. The battles may be a bit lopsided at first, but once you get ranked, the matchups tend to become pretty well-balanced. Overall, this is the highlight of game for me. The story mode is a bit short and I would love to see more chapters with longer levels. There is plenty of content, but who wouldn’t want more? I don’t have much to critique other than the short story mode and the build times are getting quite long (1 day+ wait) and you need a lot of gold to speed it up. You can either be patient, spend gold earned from ads or spend real money for gold. My suggestions; I would love to see build time speed ups and the ability to upgrade multiple buildings at once become prizes from events. Those kind of additions would be just a couple of things that would keep people happy, especially people who don’t spend or who spend minimally, and keep lots of people playing. More PVP maps would be awesome as well. Finally, there recently was a rebalance in the sniper rifles power (which was needed) but the shotguns need to be rebalanced as well. If all these things came to fruition, and hopefully more, this game could be one of the best out there for a long time to come!

Great fun

I really recommend this game for ages 12 and up, the caveat being for fantasy violence. With PvP, traditional story line paths and a really awesome air to ground assault gameplay option, there are three ways to fight to stay alive. A traditional farm/factory etc set up with resources collected over time. The farm yields the fuel for the missions, the factory etc yield parts for building/equip upgrades so you do run out of energy to go run missions or “gears” to upgrade the guns. Therefore there are built in stopping places to keep you from shooting zombies all day. The gameplay is fun and I’ve lost a lot of PvP already, so my tactics need work. It constantly asks for iTunes login, so it wants money but it doesn’t need it. You can play for a good chunk of time if you play a mission or two, then a PvP battle and a base raid from your helicopter. For me attacking the other base camps and their defenses using the chopper is the most fun so far. About every 2-3 months I need a new go-to time killer game and this is the one for late 2018.

Score Lowered Overnight Twice

The creators of this game desperately want you to spend money, and lots of it, to buy gold in order to advance in the game. The alternative is to earn points by playing the game days or weeks on end to earn enough to do a weapon's upgrade needed to progress. They make the option of buying gold not an option at all because the prices are ridiculously high for minimal weapons upgrades and/or game advancement. The highest I've seen in any zombie apocalypse game. So the alternative is to earn enough points by playing the game in order to upgrade. I noticed recently as I've progressed and earned enough points to almost be able to upgrade a level that upon opening the game the next time my point scores have been lowered by thousands of points. The first time it happened I wasn't sure I had earned enough points. But the second time it happened I made sure to take a screen shot that showed how many points I accumulated. And lo and behold, the next time I opened the game my score had been lowered by 8,000 points or so. WOW, talk about deceptive and/or nefarious practices. They obviously have embedded some type of algorithm to prevent players from progressing without buying gold at ridiculous prices basically hamstringing themselves from creating loyal players willing to pay for a quality product. Good luck with that.

Great game! Awesome, but...

First off this is my favorite mobile game. I spend more time playing this than my PS4 and Xbox One combined. I’ve pretty much given up on the campaign due to the fact that it takes SO LONG to upgrade weapons, unless you spend money. Real money...and it can become quite pricey. I’ve only spent a few dollars on the game, but I learned something over the last few months of play: being patient and waiting for your facilities to upgrade (sometimes upgrades can take up to 15 hours) can feel satisfying if you stick with it over time. I’ve spent a few months logging on everyday to upgrade various facilities, and also to do Base Raids and the PvP aspects. You do get rewards for your efforts, and they aren’t bad at all. If you don’t want to spend money on the game, you just have to be patient and keep at it daily to get the most out of it. Also, you can just watch ads to acquire free gold and energy (energy is needed for Base Raids). So in short, this is an awesome game for mobile...you just need patience and in my opinion...it’s totally worth it. Thanks guys for making such a great game and for always adding new content!!!

Kinda losing the fun factor.

I’ve been playing this game for a long time now. In the beginning, it was extremely fun to play. Advancing your heroes was pretty easy. Obtaining higher power weapons was pretty easy as well. The gameplay is really fun. I really enjoyed playing the game. Now I’m noticing new issues with the game. In game glitches where zombies seem to teleport as you’re targeting them. It’s like they’re running around an obstacle that’s not even there. The event difficulty is starting to get annoying. At first, I was able to complete medium difficulty levels on the events, and that was with weaker heroes and weapons. Now that I’ve reached max level with certain heroes and weapons, I can’t even survive the first wave of zombies in medium difficulty levels. Also, when obtaining new heroes, there’s no good way to advance them. You can’t go back and replay the early levels of the game to upgrade your heroes. It seems like you’d have to play for a year or so to upgrade the newly acquired heroes. The only way you can do that is to spend a ton of money to upgrade your heroes and get better weapons. That kinda takes the fun out of a game for us poor folks. Lol.

This game is so close to being 5/5

The graphics and controls are great! Even as a left-handed user they have options for you. The game is really easy to understand and everything makes sense. The pvp is good and you can play 2v2. So if you’re new to the game you might be happier knowing you aren’t alone. The raiding system is great, while you’re mostly limited to machine guns because everything else cost a abundant amount of gold. They do push you to buy a lot of gold/items. But they do provide you with a good number of starter packs and opportunities to try out a few different items. Just wish you could make getting money more worthwhile. You end up spend most of your energy on side missions to upgrade your primaries. While that’s great that you can keep doing that instead of paying real money. You’re then stuck doing the same mundane thing over and over again till you have enough to upgrade your weapons I’ll probably keep playing for another week, but I don’t like it when games pretty much force you to pay in order to SLIGHTLY advance in the campaign.

I don’t think you get it video game company

You’re response to 4 of the reviews in the App Store ( my review was the same basic review 4 of the 5 in App Store) was word for word THE SAME !?!?! So I’m now aware of 5 people who enjoy the game but not the highway robbery and purposeful frustrating and angering . I’m with them I will not pay $55,000 real dollars American go any video game PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!! I will never be so angry and frustrated that I will spend money so you will be nice and let me play for 5 whole minutes before you guys throw up a 2 to 3 week grind just to upgrade gear .......... again. I’m sure I’ll be done with your game and company so, I don’t think you will change anything I complained 5 days ago and nothing. And your pvp Mach making is in need of replacement because 10 hero levels higher than me ? The game has not started and I’m going to be defeated , not guna even hurt the other guys , pump half a clip from mg into one of them. Dude stands up and calmly 1 shots my partner and then turns and 1 shots me saw his health drop maybe 5-10%. Or just have another load screen that just says you have been excited, for those matches where it’s evident it’s just my turn to be annihilated .

I Always Read ‘Critical Reviews’
Mon Jan 04 2021 StarFalcon

To Developers — After enough favorite game apps under my belt, experienced the many pains of what all the players giving critical reviews, and weighing their passions to give such detailed descriptions and articulations of the problems of the game, I want you to know I do judge apps from such reviews. Why? Because I’ve been them through the pains, disillusion gains, and manipulation of monetary drains. —** ( So am telling you now, I downloaded this app just to tell you their words on Critical Reviews spared me a LOT of headaches and heartaches to take to heart and not even bothering to try. Many veteran players are wising up to the many game apps developers’ money making schemes to bring players to that spending sinkholes. No thanks! Am happy to say I listened to their warnings, after dismissing such in early apps. Not any more. It’s better to invest in a play station to get what you paid for up front. It felt great not having played this or paid a dime, thanks to the Critical Reviews! )** To the Players That Sent Your Critical Reviews — Thanks, mates! Your words of warnings weren’t lost! And I and many players DO take heed to such warnings to save us a lot of wasted time and griefs! We all appreciate your looking out! Cheers!💪👊🏻🤙🏼
