Our Expert Score

89/100

Phantom Parade is a treat for Jujutsu Kaisen fans, offering some of the best production values I've seen in a mobile gacha RPG. The way the game blends 2D illustrations with dynamic battle animations makes it feel like you’re watching a high-budget episode of the anime. It’s clear that the developers at Sumzap put a lot of love into the character models and the 'Recollection Bits' art, which often depict touching or pivotal moments from the series.

The combat mechanics are deceptively deep. Managing Cursed Energy while trying to break the enemy's guard requires actual thought, especially in late-game modes like the Illusory Tower. However, like most gacha games, there is a noticeable difficulty spike that nudges you toward the latest banners. Recent updates have made some high-level floors feel nearly impossible without specific top-tier units. That said, for the casual fan who just wants to hang out with Gojo and the gang, the story mode and daily missions are incredibly polished and enjoyable. It’s the definitive JJK mobile experience.

Really Good, small problems...
Fri Dec 19 2025 John kaisen

I could spend all day praising the game for all the great things it does! However, while the game is good in most aspects, the one problem is the gacha part. Now the problem with it is that recently I've been getting into the illusory tower mode, a mode where you fight harder and harder bosses. This wouldn't be a problem if the developers didn't make it difficult to pass a level, due to you not having a specific character. What's worse is that with the new Yuta update, they have seemingly given up on trying to hide the fact that they want you to spend money to get the new character. They did this by making it almost impossible to complete a certain illusory tower level without using the new Yuta. This is also due to the fact that (in my opinion) there are really only 2 powerful characters in the same element other than Yuta, and both of them cannot be used effectively on this single level. And it pretty much just walls you. On a personal level, I really do hate the difficulty jump after floor 60, as the boss goes from having 9 million hp to 40 million on level 61. Now this isn't a problem if you have good luck or the new character (@ the time) they wanted you to get. I do not have either. I am still stuck on this floor. But besides that, yeah its pretty good.

GREAT GAME BUT CAN BE BEST GAME

I usually don’t write reviews but I’m a huge fan of this anime. This game is better than most just based on the story alone. It gives the perfect amount of in game dialogue and the best scenes(for us anime fans that want to see those WOW moments in the actual show) throughout the in game story. Character choices are limited but then again the game just came out. You have to give the game time to release characters to us for us to be excited about the game. 100 percent get that. Number 1 thing I don’t understand is the FREE GEMS and the PAID GEMS. Just make it one whole item. People are going to buy it anyways(me being one) it just seems to be kind of cash grabby. That could just be me. I think making it one whole item just makes things simpler and encourages people to participate in getting characters rather HAVING to participate in those banners buy only buying gems. 2. Having a guild system would be amazing in this game. Almost like a school vs school or multiple teams and having 1st Year, 2nd Year , 3rd Year , Special Grade etc. as a ranking system. That would compliment this game so much and would in my opinion get way more people to play and get ranked as far as guilds are concerned. I’ve played for two days so maybe some of this is in the game and I have not unlocked it yet but hopefully this helps someone 😅

more predatory and poor translation

The pacing of this game makes it almost impossible to play for free. They're trying to catch up to th japanese version by cramming events and high power banners one after the other which doesn’t allow you time to accumulate the currency. I understand how gacha monetization works and you're not going to get everything for free, but the pacing of banner releases for this is the worst i've ever seen. There's also no increase in SSR rates each time you pull like other gachas. and the pity rate is 250 draws! The other issue is that the levels get too hard to beat without the SSR characters. It's really hard to have a budget build, to the point they actually nerfed one of the main story levels in the JP version but haven't done it for global yet. And the final thing is just rampant quality issues. I don’t know how bilibili got their hands on this, but it is apparent that they have few if any people who know Japanese and definitely not enough QC. The translations are frequently wrong or even missing, especially when characters use slang. It literally seems like it was translated through machine translation and they didn't bother to check for accuracy (or didn't have anyone who could) or they're translating from Japanese to Chinese to English and everything's getting messed up as a result. The coding of text boxes is also sloppy. Text frequently runs OUT of the text boxes and off screen or has really odd line breaks. Everything is just plain sloppy.

Lots of room for improvement…

1st thing that needs to be fixed is the brick wall of progression you hit at around the 10th chapter of the story. The upgrade materials’ requirements per character grows exponentially as they level up, while your sources for getting them stay stagnant, and you get stuck at around 25K power for a long while, since your new player materials and bonuses run out. 2nd thing is once you hit this wall you realize: the game is essentially empty, content-wise. Half of the content is locked behind this progression wall you have to climb at chapter 10, and you won’t be able to access it for days, or even weeks. 3rd thing wrong with the game is the amount of summons you get. The material you need to summon on the banners will eventually run out since the majority of them are tied to first-clears on all the stages. The banners also provide little-to-no value since the only thing worth anything in the banners are the character and -sometimes- a recollection bit tied to said character. For example: another mobile gacha I play frequently, DBZ: Dokkan Battle, has a bunch of other characters you can pull that have value, aside from the main banner unit. They also have a ton of content, granted the game is 10 years old, but I still feel like this game needs a lot more content. This game can be good and worth playing, but it needs a lot of work in order to be good.

So I had no difficulty signing in and it’s a great game overall but i wouldn’t be giving it a 3 stars if it didn’t have this flaw… So I’ve had Megumi, Nobara, and Yuji for half the game (I’m on the part where he meets mahito at the school) anyways I don’t know how to get new characters like Inumaki or maki. I mean the second years, especially those two, they are my favorite characters in the whole series, and I’ve been trying to unlock them through new quests. However, it asks to pay for them, and since I live with my parents and am flat BROKE, I don’t want to pay for this game. If you have any ideas, please tell me or give me feedback because I downloaded this game because I like JJK and I wanted to play as Maki. But if I don’t have her character, then I don’t know.

Unfortunate release of a good game
Sun Dec 01 2024 Over_9K

Too many releases too fast. Cannot save enough cubes in 2 months to hit the Unforgiving pity system that doesn't transfer between banners even when buying two separate passes. A 10 pull is 25 bucks and you need 250 pulls to hit pity ($600) and if the banner disappears after a week you lose it all. Theres basically no point unless you are spending thousands for the system to even exist. There will have been 9 banner characters some of which are limited within the first month to catch up with the JP release and it just comes across as terribly predatory and unfair to the players not just f2p but even p2p. It is a good turn based gacha with interesting mechanics and the animations are smooth. My recommendation to the devs is to introduce pity transfer asap and give global release opportunities to get cubes equal to what jp was able to receive on a slower release schedule. If you speed up releases but don't speed up cubes then we all just get shafted comparatively. If the issues are fixed my review will be edited to reflect because i do enjoy the game otherwise. TLDR fix the pity system and slow down releases or compensate for them with some extra currency.

Devs are speedrunning the end

I’ve been playing gachas for years. I used to be absolutely hooked to One Piece Treasure Cruise for 8-9 years then finally dropped it. This game has fulfilled the fun team building requirement, pve, auto until i need to manual in harder content. it’s fun! but we are getting speedran to be caught up to Japan. while this is fine, we are not being compensated at all for this. we will miss events, we don’t have the stamina to keep up, we are not getting anywhere NEAR the amount of gems we should for this. we have had like 8+ banners in a month span alone. an event a week and two ongoing as we speak. how do they expect a player to summon on half of these as a f2p? most f2p saved for yuta with hindsight. that’s it for us for months while we may see 10-15 more banners for the next 2 months? i decided to buy the weekly and monthly pass to offset my gems but honestly im better off just skipping every single unit until anniversary gojo. Black Clover mobile did the same thing yet we were given so many gems. i pulled almost every unit f2p but pvp was just too much to keep caring for. regardless seeing 10 gems for a mission completion when a multi is 3k and 4-5 banners up at once with a new 1-2 added every week is insane. please devs, speed up the game sure, but we need gems! we need those events you are skipping! please.

A real shame

Honestly was enjoying this game a lot even after being shafted on the geto banner because you know it’s a gacha and that just happens. But now y’all are just throwing way to many characters banners our way right after spending all are cubes on the movie summons. 3 characters just dropped today with another Gojo set to release in 3 more days and its just too much. We dont have enough cubes to grind out and $25 usd for a single multi is ridiculous considering the poor pull rates. I’m not even free to play I’m an avid spender but this is way to much way to fast. On top of all of that you’re holding out on events even though the last time you had multiple events going simultaneously it wasn't the number of events to elicited complaints but the amount of ap we had access to, you took care of the ap problem so releasing more events shouldn't be an issue now. I have no idea what’s going on but it’s a real shame because this game had so much potential. Best thing to do imo is to release the events alongside the characters and just give us like 3-5 ap packs per event released, i feel like that’s enough. Lower the pity rate from 250 to 150 and maybe some cube compensation or pull tickets at least as well as implement the pity transfer I've heard about that jp apparently has.
