Galaxia brings that 1980s arcade nostalgia directly to your wrist. It is a clear homage to classics like Galaga, and it works surprisingly well on the Apple Watch's Digital Crown. Turning the crown to move your ship feels more precise than touch controls ever could on such a small screen, giving you that 'just one more go' feeling as you weave through enemy fire.

While the enemy variety is somewhat limited compared to its console counterparts, the vibrant colors and smooth frame rate make it a technical marvel for a watch game. Horrible controls - Didn’t try it on my watch

I tried this game on my phone first. Really like the concept and game but the controls need tweaking. When using tilt you cannot control how fast the gun shoots. When using tap you can rapid fire but the ship keeps moving in the direction of fire. In other words I can’t momentarily hold one position and rapid fire. I think directional buttons on the lower left corner of the screen with a “fire” button in the lower righthand corner would be ideal.

This brings me back to my youth playing arcade games at a pizza joint. The developer has worked hard on this game for the watch and it shows. I’m not a gamer but this game I always play when I have free time and it makes me smile! FUN!

The shooter plane can’t be moved. It stays on the far right edge all the time. It does look like the game works like old. Please pay attention to the iphone problems instead of repeated updates and notes about the watch version.

Controls are horrid. There’s really no reason to try and lay. You don’t know when you’re gonna fire or move side to side.
