The update makes control pad a joke
Mon Sep 09 2024 Cory Burnsed

I had been playing Pokémon X for the past couple of weeks after buying the app, aside from the pretty regular, out of the nowhere crashes of the whole app, it was too pretty great. And the controls weren’t bad, until this new update. When I try to select the deep pad down button, and when I try to select the B button, it has an extreme delay, which makes you miss opportunities in playing the game. There is some form of overlay problem on the bottom half of the screen, I am playing on an iPhone SE 2022, but this is a joke. Plus every time I press a button now it has haptics that jiggle, and no one ask for that. And as far as I can tell, there’s no way to turn it off, which I really would love to do, it’s extremely irritating and distracting. Please fix the down button on the deep pad, and the B button delays and tell me how to remove these terrible haptics. If you’re going to do an update release, do through testing, I paid money for this, that means I paid money for you to do your job right. Which you are not.

Tomodachi life wont work
Fri Mar 28 2025 chicho_j

I am currently encountering significant challenges in attempting to open the game “Tomodachi Life” on my device. Despite having meticulously downloaded all the required files and diligently following the detailed installation instructions provided, I am still unable to get the game to function properly. Upon launching “Tomodachi Life,” the screen remains completely black, and the game is entirely unresponsive, which is quite frustrating. Interestingly, I have no issues accessing and playing other games on my device, indicating that the problem is specific to “Tomodachi Life.” I would greatly appreciate any guidance or assistance you could offer in helping me resolve this issue. If you are able to successfully address this problem, I am more than willing to upgrade my current rating from a 1 to a 4, as a token of my gratitude for your help. Furthermore, if you are also able to fix the glitchy behavior in the other games I have, I would be delighted to increase my rating from a 4 to a 5, reflecting my satisfaction with the overall experience. Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter. Lol don’t mind my funny writing but pls help

kinda works

edit june 2025: the app definitely works a lot better, i gave it 4 stars instead of 2 because it pretty much works now, but dislike the $5 price for an unfinished app. shouldn’t charge $5 for an app that only kinda works on an iphone 14. lots of performance issues. isn’t optimized at all. but i mean at least the games run (kinda). also the joystick location is stupid and annoying and doesn’t make for a very enjoyable experience. for some reason only half of the A button works too, and if you press too far to the right, the device gives you haptic feedback like you’re pushing it, but the input isn’t registered. i originally gave this app 3 stars but lowered it to 2 after playing for more than an hour and realized how frequent crashes are (every 5-10 minutes regardless of my settings). i will give this a better review if they fix the horrendous issues with this app, but until then, don’t buy this garbage.

Great concept. Needs a lot of improvements.

I tried this app for 30 minutes and uninstalled it cause it appeared to be a half finished app. First of all the button layout and design are totally different for different emulations. For example the snes’s transparent and no letter buttons are good but some button isn’t working at all(like the middle one between select and start)(which I didn’t figure out the way to exit the emulation and switch game so I have to quit the app), and the 3DS buttons are completely different that they even are not at the similar size and aren’t transparent. Also u just made the settings for a few emulators, ant the exit is just completely quit the app which is annoying when I just wanna switch the game. I haven’t tried the other emulator but I think they’re also unfinished. Please improve the app cause this is really a great concept on design and ease of use!!!

Look i paid for the app yes and i appreciate being able to play 3ds games on my phone at all i am also very patient and to be honest for years AppStore never had any emulators only way to get them was slightly difficult it is easier to get them now and appreciate it and i love it and this emulator possesses a-lot of potential but work takes time from the dev and takes patience from the user so i understand i don’t care about the problems every emu started out having a decent amount of problems at the beginning as long as even 3 or 1 game i play on the 3ds emu is working and functional i am happy i have hope that this app will be a great 3ds emu don’t let the others get u down they are just impatient and expect everything to get done quickly without any side effects or problems u just u do u

Good, but some problems
Fri Sep 20 2024 SonicFan123987

So look, Folium is a wonderful emulator, with the ability to play 3DS games being really cool, but while it's a technical marvel, there are a few bugs. The first one is simple, Folium's D-pad, whilst you should be able to change from pressing right to pressing left like a regular d-pad, Folium's won't let you make that quick change in direction, this is a big problem for 2D platformers like Super Mario Bros, in which you should be able to switch directions in a flash. The next problem is how Folium doesn't import 3DS & NES games on the fly, while you should be able to import those games like the DS, instead, you need to drop the roms into the emulator's ROM folder. And finally, on my iPad, when using landscape, it stretches out the DS & 3DS screens, I don't know why it does this, but it's kind of weird that it happens. So yeah, those are all my complaints.

I love this, but Luigi’s mansion dark moon is not working.
Tue Feb 04 2025 Can be great, and rude

My heart was heart beating when I saw this, it was so good, but when I tried Luigi’s mansion dark moon, the audio was werid and the game was slow, and it kept freezing. Then later it just froze in the intro. And it was hard to look around and hard to look up and down. It is not fair that all the other 3ds games work except my favorite game (Luigi’s mansion dark moon). And in super Mario maker for 3ds game, it says I need a mii character in my home menu, so can you make it that you don’t need a mii character. And please fix Luigi’s mansion Dark moon. And add JIT (just in time) so the emulators can run so smoothly. then I will turn this star into a 5, and make a video of how to fix it! Make me proud!!! 😊

Great App with Amazing Potential! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great App with Amazing Potential! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Folium is an impressive app that brings nostalgia to life by emulating old games. The performance is solid, and the variety of games it supports is fantastic. I’m leaving 5 stars because I truly see the effort and passion behind this app, and it’s heading in the right direction. That said, there’s room for improvement to make the app even more user-friendly. One area that could use some attention is the settings menu. It would be incredibly helpful to have more detailed information on what each setting does and recommendations for optimizing them for specific games. For example, knowing which configurations work best for different types of games could save users a lot of trial and error. Additionally, some guidance on the ideal devices and equipment to use with Folium would be great. Tips on hardware specifications or recommended controllers could help users get the best experience and ensure the app runs smoothly. Overall, I love what the team is doing with Folium. It’s clear that a lot of care is going into this project, and I can’t wait to see how it evolves. Keep up the fantastic work!
