Nice idea but not quite

I’m disappointed that I spent money on this app... First off playing this game on an iPhone10 is nearly impossible as the tiny tiny tiny tiny numbers are extremely hard to see. If you could pinch the screen wide and be able to see the numbers that would be fine but you can’t. The other problem is is that the developer said a bug that does not allow Wild cards to be played during the meld has not been fixed. It’s now December 31 and the developer posted in September that it would be fixed. One other item that needs to be fixed in my opinion is that red threes count as points for you instead of points against you as I’ve only seen the played. It is very nice to see the major complaints addressed and fixed! Thank you.

Enjoyable, occasionally glitchy

My friends and I play each other in the on-line version. We do enjoy it a lot. There are a few glitches and QOL updates needed, though. Glitch: >Occasionally (infrequent, but has happened a few times), the game seems to get stuck between players and won’t let either player take a turn. No option for this glitch except to delete the game >mysterious card appears in a players hand after they already went out. I have wondered if this happens after I start my turn and then need to minimize the app to do something else (read a text, for example) before I have discarded. When I go back to the game, it restarts my turn. Wondering if that restart is some sort of hidden penalty that gets imposed when I finally go out. >QOL update: i love the banner at left that lets you play your turn after your friend makes a move, but I wish it was a bit more transparent. It covers up the most left stack of my books, and I sometimes forget which book it is or if it is clean/dirty when I am making my play. I have to say No to the “do you want to play it” banner to get it out of my way so I can see my cards. If it was semi-transparent, I could see thru it so I could complete my play and then say Yes to the banner.

could be great

Really like this game, but a few things need to be fixed. Just now I had seven tens, three pairs and three wilds to lay down. It kept insisting there were invalid melds on the table. Redid three times. Finally laid down only six of the tens and the three pairs and that made it “ok” but not so much for the player. Had to wait till next turn to complete the tens. Also really don’t like the inability -as far as I can tell, and I searched rules and emailed before that option disappeared - to pass or “knock” when in your foot and don’t want to discard. HAVE to discard or game won’t progress. Also, to end the game, cannot go out without discarding something. Both of these have cost me innumerable canastas and points in just a few games. I’ve been playing the computer but if I were playing a person it would really tee me off. Last game something I could have played if not required to discard gave my opponent a red canasta. Not cool. Please fix, or if there’s something I’m missing please advise how to bypass the discard requirement and still progress and or end the game.

Love this game but.....

I’ve been playing this game for several years and it was great until lately...there are glitches. After finishing a turn sometimes it will not transition to the other player. You can’t play...the other player can’t play but it looks like the other player just quit responding. I contacted the creator...twice. No response. Also, even more disturbing is that the cards dealt are no longer random. With the number of games I play, It is more than just a coincidence that the cards I am dealt are exactly the cards I do not have on the board. This used to be the best live player Canasta Hand and Foot game...until now.

Great game- except for glitches

Great game, minus a few glitches.... 1- The rules state that you can have 2 wild cards in a canasta. (3 if you turn on that option) I had one already on the table with only one wild card. It would not let me add one more if the wild card was at the bottom. This glitch has cost us times to go out. Or having to make a "dirty" book out of a "clean" book in order to get the wild cards played. (Basically, not letting you put one wild card on top of another) 2- you can not see an opponents black book on their screen. (The green screen background) There's not enough contrast. 3- A glitch that would hide a card drawn from the draw pile in my hand behind the other cards in my hand. To correct and keep playing, I would have to "pretend" to play cards in my hand by putting them up on the table until I could see the hidden card and then click on the hidden card so it would go into my hand properly. Then I could bring the cards placed on the table back into my hand. One thing we'd like to see is the ability to play more than two people via wifi or Bluetooth on a local game. We have sent an email to you and hope to see the glitches fixed soon. Other than that, we really enjoy your game.

The AI cheats on Sambas
Fri Jan 13 2023 Bradshaw2

The AI cheats. It puts unrelated cards into an existing Samba and then changes their suits and values so they meld into that Samba. However, the AI apparently can’t cheat fast enough to avoid a screenshot. I have sets of screenshots of 14 separate occasions showing unrelated cards in the AI’s Samba followed immediately by a second screenshot showing those unrelated cards changed to make their suits and values meld into the existing Samba. That said, I find I still really enjoy this app. I do insist that it start a new game whenever it cheats, but since I’m always way ahead when it happens, I suspect I’m being manipulated instead of levying a penalty. Lol

It’s not great for one you have to pay for!

I had been using a free Hand and Foot game that always worked great, but apparently has not been updated to work with the updated iOS versions, so I forced to find another one. This one you have to pay for and the calibration is terrible. It rarely clicks on the correct card I am trying to choose when organizing or selecting a card to discard. I never had that issue with the other app, so there is no reason this one should, especially because they charge for it. I really hope they fix that. It also almost never lets me choose to pick up a discarded card, even if I have enough to lay down my meld etc. It’s very frustrating because if you pay for an app, it better work pretty well or at least as well as the free version.

Got To Love Beating The Snake!

Hi, James! Wow. What is there to say? I was introduced to this game after a drunken relative decided to pull out a deck of cards as we digested our Thanksgiving dinner. Boy, oh boy, what a world I was introduced to! After successfully beating all my relatives in person (including my sister who is a complete snake!) I decided to download the app. All I need is the ability within the app to chat, so I can destroy my opponents in person as well as damaging their already weak psyche. You know James…it’s a fine line between Canasta and Hand and Foot, and I would appreciate if you could distinguish the difference. (Bolivia = bullsh*t).
