Now supports up to 120h refresh rates on new iPhone models.
I remember playing Enigmo on an old Power-PC Mac about 10 years ago, and this is bringing back lots of memories! The only issues I see are that it's missing the distinctive soundtrack the Mac version had, and the "double tap to return to inventory" thing can sometimes trigger if I switch between moving and turning a piece. All in all, though, it's still the great game I remember.
The game itself is amazing. I have had this game since owning the original gen 1 iPhone and through the years I always dust it off to play through the levels again. However, while functional on the iPhone X with the most recent software the app has developed a few quirks that I don’t remember it having on past devices. The smaller of the two is the touch mechanics are tad bit too sensitive. Rotation of items being one them, objects always seem to be playing catch up with your finger and when you think you’ve gotten it right you’ve actually overshot your target. Also, in rotation of an item its very easy to unselect the item while trying to rotate it. Scrolling through game space can be a little dangerous to cause you can easily offset other items on the playing field if you do not watch were you place your fingers. This may just something that adds to the challenge which is why it isn’t a huge issue for me. The big thing that kills the rating that I am giving this app is the mildly frequent crashing that occurs mainly through level transitions, has happened several times during key save moments and corrupted my saved game. I then have to delete the data because going back into it always crashes the app there after. If anything, I can live with the slight touch issues just resolve the crashing and I will have no complaints about this game.
This is the oldest surviving App (Game) on the App Store that wasn’t removed during the Apple Purge. Luckily! Because this Game is amazing it can get very tricky but that’s also what makes it so good. The puzzles are well designed and I like the addition of new features over time. 10/10 Thanks Pangea for creating this Masterpiece!
I’ve had this app for a very long time. I bring it out every year or so and start over. I wish, though, that Pangea would update it for iOS 13 and dark mode. The tools are very hard to read in dark mode.
Glad to see that this is now up to date for the iPhone X. However, the music is ATROCIOUS. Luckily it can be turned off but lord have mercy that is terrible. This game would do much better with some ambient noise or some sort of soothing background music but this peppy basic Apple loop junk and the weird Asian scrub music isn’t fitting and is a disgrace.
Best puzzle game EVER!!! Needs more levels but still awesome!! I wish I could give it more stars!!! I have finished the game. And I am seriously BEGGING for more levels!?!? I just realized that you can hit download And there is a ton of levels created by other players with the pc enigmo!! I wrote the above review years ago.......I'm so glad I discovered this app then, this still holds up as the best app (game) for iPod /iPad to the person or persons who created this you are awesome
People are flooded with apps nowadays. I'm lucky enough to have been able to experience this in 2008 when apps were a new thing. This game was a pioneer. Should be in the app hall of fame.
The gameplay mechanics are good, however please add iCloud support for saving progress between devices. - Gameplay graphics and UX are becoming very outdated. They need to be refreshed to take advantage of modern hardware/iOS capabilities. - GameCenter function is buggy. The app freezes after returning from GameCenter achievements or Leaderboards.
