Minor bug fixes
Dicefolk is a revelation in the roguelike genre. Its central hook—giving you control over the enemy's dice—is one of those 'why didn't anyone think of this before?' mechanics that completely redefines turn-based strategy. It transforms the usual frustration of 'unlucky rolls' into a puzzle where you are the architect of your own fate. You find yourself carefully orchestrating an enemy's miss just so you can trigger a 'counter-attack' on your next turn.
The Chimera designs are imaginative and vibrant, avoiding the generic look of many monster-catchers. The synergy between different creatures is deep, and the ability to customize your dice during a run allows for some truly broken (and satisfying) builds. It’s a game of perfect information that still manages to be unpredictable. It’s colorful, smart, and incredibly addictive. One of the best tactical roguelikes on mobile, hands down.
Unique dice-manipulation combat
Dozens of unique Chimeras to collect
Roguelike replayability
Beautiful hand-drawn art style
Don't be afraid to use an enemy's attack die early if it means they hit a Chimera with high defense or a 'retaliate' buff.
Defeat wild creatures to add them to your roster. Each Chimera has unique passive abilities that can be triggered by specific dice faces.
Yes, Dicefolk is fully playable without an internet connection.
Another classic along the lines of slay the spire and monster train. I think I actually like it better than both of them. I think it really improves on the pick up and play aspect of the genre, while still have lots of depth and just the right amount of meta ‘progression’ in that you unlock new content as you play while also including minor check the box type tasks that make trying new builds on each new run worthwhile. If you like monster train or slay the spire, this is definitely a download and try. If you enjoy the first play through, it’s for sure worth $5. No questions asked. In a time where unity mobile game slop is bogging down the App Store, it’s always nice to find a gem!
This game is phenomenal. Despite it being a dice game with inherent randomness, they’ve managed to build the mechanics in a way where you have so much agency. I’ve never felt like I lost because I got unlucky, it’s usually clear where I made a mistake. This makes each battle a super satisfying puzzle to solve. On top of the good foundation, they packed so much content in this game. There are so many chimeras, equipment, dice and classes to mix and match that each run feels genuinely unique. You can tell the devs poured their hearts and souls into this gem of a game and for only $5 I cannot recommend it enough.
Been playing for weeks and finished all the trials and challenges now and I honestly can’t get enough. I get bored and move on pretty quick but man this one really has me hooked, it’s been a minute since I’ve looked forward to sitting down and playing a game. I rarely leave reviews but this one is worthy
One of the best games on the App Store. Strategic. Fun. Works great on the iPhone screen. (Some buttons are a little tiny, but it’s manageable.) NO IAP except one $5 purchase of the full game. Plenty of trial content. Support developers that don’t abuse the art of game design with micro transaction malarkey. Put money into complete experiences.
I was looking for something to pass the time during the day and avoid atrociously expensive micro transactions from free phone games. This is a cheap game that provides hundreds of hours of gameplay. Simple game to learn with lots of potential for complexity.
Great game that I can play for hours and not get bored. I find myself picking this game up now whenever I have free time. The shrines aspect make it so each run is different and your always trying to spawn one of the rare upgraded forms of the chimeras. Great idea great execution
Love this game. It’s an interesting one and def worth the money. I wish there was another mode so that it does not reset every time you die. But that’s also the interesting about this game as well
Downloaded as soon as I saw it hit and have only played the trial but this is definitely one going on my to buy asap list!! Already diggin it!
