CyberWave Survivor is a sleek, minimalistic survival space shooter that captures the 'one-more-run' magic of modern roguelikes. Inspired by the 'Shmup' style, it pits your single ship against overwhelming waves of enemies. The core of the game lies in the 'tough choices' you make between waves—balancing your limited currency to decide which ship upgrades will help you survive the next boss.
The controls have been recently updated for one-thumb play, which makes it incredibly accessible for mobile gaming on the go. The neon, 'cyber' aesthetic is bolstered by a great electronic soundtrack. While it starts simple, the introduction of tracking missiles and massive boss ships ensures that the difficulty ramp stays engaging. It’s a pure, skill-based shooter that doesn't clutter the screen with unnecessary data.

Intense Boss Battles
Focus on fire rate and tracking missiles early on. Surviving the early waves is easier if you can clear small enemies quickly before they swarm you.
The joystick moves your ship and automatically shoots. You can position the joystick anywhere on the left side of the screen to suit your comfort.
You unlock new cyber planets to defend by surviving a set number of waves and defeating the sector boss.
What I liked: Blending of the vampire survivors, Starfox 2 arena dog fights and classic shoot em ups. Good overall aesthetic What I disliked: overall a lack of UI across the entire application. No pause buttons or settings. Feels like a draft or prototype interface. Virtual control sticks are too small and overall inaccessible. Splitting controls across screen regions would be a better approach. Controller support one day. General feedback: This game has ideas about how the ship should feel and control which I appreciate, this give it an identity. More attention on what it feels like to pilot the ship would be great. For example what if drifting around enemy groups was acknowledged with multipliers or alternative fire, or perhaps a boost to get out of trouble. After a couple waves the upgrade screen feels like buying back health and little else. Runs are identical with no variance that I can see. It was a buck, I get it. I’m fine with it. Overall I wouldn't even leave a review here unless I thought you were on to something.
This games simple and fun, whatever the control issues that are cited in bother reviews must have been fixed. It’s a simple shooter and I like the use of radar to track and go after enemies
Thanks, nice game! Nice music!)
Normally I don’t write bad reviews, but want to caution others from spending a buck on the game. I take responsibility for spending 99 cents on this game, but honestly it’s not really playable. The controls are fixed to the far corners of the screen with no options to change them to a free config. As a matter of fact there are no options to speak of at all. Not to mention they are extremely unwieldy. I was hoping for a good space style shooter, but ended up spending a buck on a pretty unplayable game. The graphics are really grainy and obscure the field, and the effects are lackluster at best. Honestly not what I would call worth a play even if the game was free. I’m not too upset about losing a dollar over it, but really with this quality it seems like a quickly cobbled together game with the soul intent of making a couple of bucks off folks like myself willing to pay a buck or two for something that may be fun for a bit. Of course if this is a devs first attempt at a game, I’d say make it free & ad supported and make the game quite a bit better before putting a price on it. It’s really a frame of a game that needs a lot more work and polish. Just being honest…
I don’t like writing one star reviews but I feel like I need to for this game, all the game assets are overlapping and bugging out making the game literally unplayable. I can’t speak to the gameplay because I can’t get past the main menu. Wouldn’t recommend for a dollar.
This is made to look like a twin stick shooter, but it is far from it. There isn’t even a menu button or a left/back button on the level select. Don’t waste your time or money.
Not playable! Need to fix this game.👎👎👎👎👎
