Style Crystal Shop has been removed and replaced with rewards from core gameplay.
Coromon Skins can be unlocked, each skin by completing its challenge, no currency needed.
Character Cosmetics can be found in chests, by catching Coromon, or during events. All skin tones and glasses are unlocked at character creation. And now have their own custom menu.
Several new Coromon Skins were added.
A more condensed version of those games I grew up playing, but from the start you can adjust dozens of features to really make the game suit your play style—make bosses and trainers easier or harder to beat, adjust the levels of wild coromon, enable auto-healing when a coromon grows in level, etc. You can make changes at any time in the train station (the second location in the game). I saw a comment about parts of the game post-purchase being stressful, and I would like to address that issue: I have a severe anxiety disorder and that comment almost kept me from proceeding, but I’m glad I did. You’ll occasionally find yourself rapidly jumping across crumbling platforms or dodging moving objects/npcs you can’t touch, and while I did find that a little anxiety inducing, I was able to relax by reminding myself there’s no consequence if you fail those tests. You can keep respawning and trying again without losing items or coins like you do in many games. When customizing your game, you can choose to make the game much more challenging by making all coromon leave your party upon fainting in battle, but NOTHING happens if you miss a jump. Breathe. If you enable all the easy settings and make all your battles low level, you’ll find your favorite farming game more stressful.
I just finished the main game and let me just say that the creativity and passion was there from the beginning until the end. This game had so much life and energy poured into it. From what I know Coromon was made by a small indie dev team and they did fantastic. The story and the characters made this game so fun to progress through, plus you can customize exactly what kind of adventure you want yours to be with different rules and difficultly levels. I loved all the different Coromon and regions there were to explore and how important each one was to the story. It was just so expansive and you can tell a lot of work went into it. It really reminds of what spirit Pokémon used to have before they became a bit too money hungry. In fact I have enjoyed this game way more more than I enjoyed Pokemon in the recent years. The fact that they did a story revamp to this game a while ago makes this even better. I would have paid way more for this game than I did because it’s totally worth it. I don’t know what the devs are up to but I hope they are doing well and maybe have a new project. Either way this game was absolutely amazing and you should definitely buy past the demo! Absolutely 5 stars, would give more if there was an option.
Never heard of this game until recently, when I was a teenager I would play Pokémon on my gameboy color, then when I was older I played them on the DS, now the switch. Don’t get me wrong Pokémon holds a special place in my heart, but every game they release the quality seems to dip and they never expand on anything. Then I find this game, played for about 10 minutes and decided to buy it. This is exactly what I’m looking for, beautiful animations, great customization, great looking creatures with evolutions and “shiny” variations much like Pokémon. 10/10 game, would recommend to anyone who was in a similar boat as I was. Great Job Devs! Update: spent around 20 hours in the game now, some minor issues but none ruin the experience. There are some in app purchases but the premium “gem” currency is earnable through regular gameplay, and are only used for cosmetics for your character, and coromon. The only thing you have to “buy” besides the game is the premium tools, like storage management anywhere and unlimited fast travels, those are only earned by purchasing through money for a grand total of $5, so all in all won’t break the bank, thought I would write about it though. Game is very much worth your money and time.
Great creatures, fun collecting all the color variations. Unlocking them and admiring them in the database. Reminiscent of but creatively distinct from Pokemon. (Potent and perfect, as well as devolving to strengthen traits.) Lots of hidden items rewarding exploration. If you enjoy the preview, worth buying the rest of the game— very polite way of doing things, one time purchase, no ads. My favorites are Otogy, Seraphace, and the more inexplicable monster-y ones that don’t look like any real-world animals. Lots of really good blobs. I like a good blob. Controls take a lot of time to get used to, and if you have garbage reflexes that draw you to untimed, turn-based games like me, you WILL fall in holes and have to start puzzles over and over again. No option to turn the game speed down, only up. Like, I can see the answer to the platforming challenges and so on, my hands are just stupid. (Have walked into comically large number of tiny pixel cactuses. Don’t. Don’t worry about it.) Found it worth it to push through learning how difficult the movement controls are, and went on to enjoy the art, designs, strategy, and cute monsters. Never had a game console as a kid, so really appreciate the opportunity to experience a wonderful creature game like this. Overall: played like fifty hours, anticipate playing even more. Very positive, good job, do recommend.
I have been looking for something to satisfy my itch to play something like Pokémon, and this game exceeded expectations! I bought the game after the demo ended, and I would definitely recommend you doing the same. The aesthetic and gameplay is very similar to some of the earlier ruby / emerald games with a few additional features and functions that make the game very fun! There are a bit more challenging puzzles, and a few different mechanics, but overall I’ve been enjoying my time playing this game immensely! The only thing that I have been missing is the opportunity to catch some of the “legendary” or “titan” monsters in this game. It’s very unsatisfying to go to the spinners to catch them when they’re in low health with no option to try to catch them. Besides that’s the game has been extremely enjoyable training up some of the cool looking Coromon, and the rarity system makes finding potent and perfect Coromon really fun.
Since the previous update in the Mescher realm stage 4 of gathering souls, the very last soul you were supposed to gather does not show up now. This game is great. I would recommend it to anyone. It is just sad that you can tell it’s not tested thoroughly after updates. This game is for a little kids yet. It has harder puzzles than a soul game. The ghost need to be slowed down a little in the ghost realm as I’ve noticed my children and their friends just quitting in frustration after not being able to do the puzzles. Now they are 10-12 so patience isn’t what they have a lot of but still they have a point. Please fix the spirit bug so I can finish this wonderful game as it is now unplayable since the spirit doesn’t show up now since the last update. Thanks.
Not much of a fun honestly, liked it at the beginning though, so I went ahead and bought the full version and I regret it. It must just be me, but I wanted to play a relaxing battle game like Pokémon from the past and it was a lot like that at first, but I remember being like 6 and playing the OG Pokémon, and maybe it’s just me, that I got less smarter as an adult, but this game is so difficult that as an adult I’m struggling. Like the running and hiding for arrows and bodyguards, etc and the puzzles and stuff isn’t really what I signed up for. I really wanted more battles. There are a good amount of battles but the other half of the game is beating mini games like this, unless I’m doing something wrong. And it’s so stressful, I’m not relaxed at all playing this, unless when it comes to the fighting. I’m just stressed and annoyed, so I’m going to go ahead and drop this game, even though I wish I could’ve proceeded, but it’s not worth the stress. Would definitely advertise that this gameplay is a huge style of play in the game, so people don’t regret spending their money for the full thing and not being able to continue it.
Coromon, out of the gate, is amazing. I have grabbed the Steam, Switch, and now mobile versions, and I am just in LOVE with this game and franchise. The charm, the animations, and Coromon designs, the art; EVERYTHING about this game truly takes me back to the joy I had in playing Pokémon games when I was younger. As Pokémon came to the Switch, my love for the franchise dwindled immensely, due to their constant shortcomings. Pokémon nowadays is the Madden of Nintendo, not that it’s literally the same game every release like Madden, but in the sense that the development company as well as the fans have become complacent with how Pokémon is now, and is totally fine buying the next release “because it’s Pokémon”. Coromon, to me, blows every expectation I had out of the water from day one, and with its consistent updates, it continues to get even better. The amount of customization you can choose in the difficulty alone is astounding, from being able to catch Trainer Coromon if you want, to having implemented Nuzlocke difficulties, like automatically releasing a Coromon that is fainted, or restricting catching to one per area; it’s absolutely amazing. This game, in my opinion, is the perfect “mon” game. Give it a shot! You won’t regret it!
