OvenSmash is a bold and successful pivot for the CookieRun franchise. Moving from a 2D runner to a 3D brawler could have been a disaster, but Devsisters nailed the feel of the combat. The Cookies move with a weight and snappiness that makes every hit feel impactful. GingerBrave feels familiar yet entirely new when he’s actually swinging for the fences in a 3D arena.

The character variety is the standout feature here. Every Cookie feels distinct, and learning the synergies between them provides a surprising amount of tactical depth for a mobile game. The match lengths are perfect—about 3 to 5 minutes—which keeps the energy high without becoming exhausting. It’s a colorful, chaotic, and incredibly polished entry into the arena brawler genre.

Was good but won't let me connect anymore

I played the game for a good week daily because I thought it was really fun. There were some bugs but I kinda expected and saw them get patched as I was playing, the biggest being the controls randomly switched to PC inputs despite being on mobile. (Which would lead me to struggle playing the match unless they happened to correct themselves during it). But now, it won't let me log in at all! For the past 3 days it's been saying that it's having problems connecting to the server. I thought it was maintenance but surely it can't last this long? I've deleted and re downloaded, tried different WiFi (despite it working fine previously and mine being pretty good), and other things, but nothings worked. I've looked online to see if others are having this problem, and some are, but there hasn't been a substantial amount of people for me to tell if it's a me issue or a wider one, as well to see if anyone has come up with a solution. The last update hasn't changed anything because it wouldn't let me log in since the night before the update went out. I'm really upset at this because I really liked this game and it was becoming one of my favorites to grind in despite the previous bugs. Now I worry that I won't be able to play at all or will have to start from scratch.

First of all, I love this game, from the different modes, character variations, and all of that. I’m new to the cookie franchise, so idk any of these characters, but I like how they play. However the only reason I gave a five star rating is because otherwise this would never be seen. Otherwise it would have gotten a 3.6/5. The main reason of this is because of how bad this game runs on mobile. Like dude EVERY TIME I LOAD INTO A MATCH, THERE IS ABOUT 50% CHANCE (I’m not exaggerating, in fact I’m being generous) that your game will crash. Often causing you to load into a game, crash said game, load back in, lose the game because u were afk, and in the long run, u wasted about 6 minutes of ur time. This happens about 50-70% of the time mind you. If it wasn’t for this, I would have gave 5 stars but this is an outrageous issue that I face every time I load into the game. Also, the game is a near copy of brawl stars, from us to modes, but that is not too big of a problem. Anyway, please be wary of glitchyness and buggy issues if you ever decide to try this game

I love this game but hear me out, 3 tanks/brawlers on the same team shouldn’t be allowed. YOU CANT DO ANYTHING! They have too much health and they just dive you. It’s a guaranteed loss, unless your team also has 3 tanks, BUT THATS RARE! AS MATCHMAKING IS RANDOM. Also how they can have the same tank with random matchmaking is so frustrating, but I do srs love this game though, the cookies are so cute ( especially customizing each cookie individually) and the game mechanics are very smooth! plus now everyone is getting balanced as the game devs are very good at listening to their player base! BUT PLEASE IM TIRED OF GETTING DIVED BY A MADELEINE, ICE POP, AND DARK CHOCO OR FRUIT PUNCH COOKIE! ITS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE RELEASE! Edit; also can we please have a reporting button ONLY for those that just give up/go afk? I keep getting people that constantly go afk and I always have to either 2v3 or 1v3 or they go afk then only move to steal kills, which is forcing me to mainly play tank roles. whenever I talk in world everyone is friendly so no complains about that! Just please make it fair if it’s a 3v3 game!

High Hopes and the Realization of Reality

i had so much high hopes for this game, especially since i have been playing and supporting devsister games ever since the cookie run kakao game. but now that the game came out, reality hit me hard as there were still MANY bugs even after closed beta, constant “loss of connection” and when i reopen the app the app has an ai playing for my character and i cant take back the control of the character, pay to win aspect of the game, too many buttons (overstimulating) in the main menu area, a gacha system without featured cookies (which leads to PURE luck for your desired cookie), and so much more to list. some aspects of the game feel HEAVILY inspired if not boarderline copied from brawl stars as the gingerbrave bots throwing purple juice bottle are suspiciously similar to a playable character named barely from brawl stars, even PRODUCING THE SAME SOUND EFFECTS WHEN JUICE BOTTES EXPLODE. some abilities (dashes) are straight copies from one cookie to another, class systems being confusing as chili pepper cookie shouldnt even be considered an “assassin” class and latte cookie being a mage class instead of bomber. i hope these post-beta that these major problems will be fixed. thank you for reading if you made it this far!

In-game issues

There’s been a reoccurring issue as a Camembert cookie player where in castle crasher when using his ultimate it immediately targets the turtle rather than an enemy on the opposing side who is nearby, resulting in a wasted ult and practically a free kill for the enemy nearby. Not only that, but blueberry pie cookie’s attacks are all able to go through the turtle which acts as a barrier for all other long range cookies such as mozzarella cookie or rye cookie, giving blueberry pie cookie an unfair advantage over the rest. Again, in castle crasher the only thing protecting close combat cookies against long range cookies is the turtle depending on where you’re standing, making it not worth it to even attempt to attack far range cookies as it would more than likely mean dying. Other than that, the game is pretty fun itself and enjoyable, this has just been a small issue bothering me as a Camembert cookie main being practically useless in game since charging at far range cookies would simply mean loss plain and simple.

I love cookie run oven smash! But there are things that bother me. Well first, when the battle starts I move my cookie but then it glitches and the Wi-Fi sign shows up and there’s an exclamation mark between. I personally find it super annoying because I have to exit the app and go back in but you know, it’ a new game soooo. Another thing, I feel like there should be more cookies, what I really don’t get is that when you go in the game and there’s a cover, there’s a random cookie who has a samurai sword but he’s not even playable like whaaaaaa!!!!!! Furthermore I find it super weird, plus I have all 23 cookies and they were easy to get (well kinda). I understand that this is a new game but I bet everyone including me, wants a better experience. Also that’s not all, I love earning these gems but why do I feel like there are not many ways to get gems like I believe you should make more ways for us to earn more gems. Please tell also how to get the pixel sunglasses!! I really want one!!!!!!!! PLEASE! Anyway… I feel like there should be more places to go instead of the plaza just to have an extra experience in the game! This is the last thing, make all the cookies’ basic attack infinite pleaseeeeee! I don’t like it when there’s a limit to the basic attacks because i use them all the time! For example, Brie cheese Cooke, her basic attack is 6 bullets. I’d love for it to be infinite so that she can shoot more and not run away when you and your opponent have low HP, you know what I mean? Like I find it hard ,like I could’ve defeated this person if I had my basic attack like infinite like non stop like when somebody is trying to attack me I have like not enough bullets and I like respawn because i just died. So I hope you know where I’m coming from. I really wish/hope you read and reply that you could fix these bugs and have a new update with new cookies and most of all new features!!! This is a wonderful game but you need some fixing and new things for the game.

I’ve played just about every CookieRun game and they are all vastly different. This one is very different from all the ones I’ve played. That doesn’t mean it’s good though. OvenSmash has very cute characters that I recognize and love, and the designs are great. I do wish that the costumes costed less. I also don’t understand why stickers are lumped into costumes. When I did a costumes pull I got one piece of a costume. One. If wasn’t even a featured costume. Just a random backpack thing. I was a little upset. I also hate how laggy it is and it crashes on my phone often. I hate how long the loading screen is at the beginning of the game in the menu. I’m going to compare it to Brawl Stars in this sense for a moment. Brawl Stars immediately opens the game after a short bit, no loading screen, no play button. That’s what I loved about it. I feel since the game just came out I won’t bash it too much, but I hope it lives up to the other CookieRun game’s reputation.
