Bug fixes and improvements
Chaos Zero Nightmare is a standout title in the modern mobile RPG landscape, delivering a dark fantasy experience that feels distinct, stylish, and deeply atmospheric. Smilegate has succeeded in blending high-production 2D anime visuals with genuine mechanical depth, creating a game where tactical deck-building is seamlessly integrated with intense narrative stakes.
The highlight of the game lies in its combat system and roguelite progression. Managing squad stress levels alongside action points forces real decisions during encounters. Combining character abilities with card Synergies allows for creative party setups, infinite combo potential, and high-skill playstyles that reward deep experimentation.
For fans of games like Slay the Spire wrapped in premium anime aesthetics and heavy psychological lore, Chaos Zero Nightmare is a absolute must-play. Its rich presentation, compelling character casts, and strategic depth make it one of the premier mobile RPGs available.
Atmospheric dark fantasy storyline with full voice acting
Strategic deck-building combat integrated with roguelite loop mechanics
High-quality 2D animations and striking character designs
Endgame boss raids and competitive hyperspace challenges
Begin your journey by selecting a balanced squad of Combatants and Partners. In battle, keep close track of agent stress levels while managing AP to trigger devastating card combos before dark mental breakdowns hit your squad.
Fights combine turn-based card play with dynamic aiming perspectives. Each run shapes permanent 'Save Data' bonuses, unlocking new card paths, character trauma codes, and high-tier gear for subsequent dives into the Chaos fog.
It combines anime-style tactical turn-based deck-building card combat with roguelite progression and narrative choices.
Y’all need to give people a lot more to do. Give them a AFK mode. It’s very grinding and I’m lot of people complain about that. Y’all are already doing a lot better than many other companies. I’m glad that y’all are falling into the trap. A big name companies trying to just sit on what they already have and not putting any effort into their content. It’s clear that the deaths actually are putting effort into into the content and I’m loving everything that y’all are doing with the customization to be able to create teams that are notable teams that can do infinite combos, and millions of different varieties of teams. I prefer to play this game over many other gotcha games not just because it’s unique but because it’s on a different level level, would you let people use their creativity for their experience and their skill to do all kinds of different things team comps and just a lot of different stuff we haven’t even gotten to any crossover yet and people are already theorizing when we get crossovers it’s only gonna get I would like if y’all created a light version of y’all game for people who cannot play you guys game on newer models like for example just last week I was able to play your game on my laptop, but now I can’t play it because of the newest version which I’m guessing you guys are moving towards not being able to support older model devices I appreciate that sentiment but you’re also forcing people who don’t have the money or can’t have a better device to not be able to play your game just saying
Great game, wonderful graphics, thought provoking combat. For now, it is an awesome experience. HOWEVER, please do not kill player perception of the game by hyper sexualizing the characters. That caters to a degenerative type of guy (losers) who are detached from the reality. I am a working professionally degreed and licensed, and I hope for this game to respect sensibility in this aspect of quality characters (like Kayron) who are not overly sexualized. The game mechanics are good enough to be respected on its own. Sex will sell and is good in small quantities, over due it and it will lock you to a small audience of perverts. Example of great quality without hyper sexualization is the Frieren series. I can comfortably say that the over sexualization is part of the reason why I stopped playing and donating to E7. No real man wants constantly experience soft porn every time he opens his phone for a little escapism. So please, develop this gem with care and respect so that it may reach a multitude of audiences. Thank you smilegate.
I like this game a lot. As a gacha, it is very generous and gives back to the player a lot. It has a really cool and unique concept, in that all of the game takes place in this horror like landscape. It has a very unique battle system that keeps the game feeling fresh. However, my problem with the game is the storyline and how the characters interact with the MC. Like most gacha’s it fits only towards the male gaze, if you catch my drift. The storyline is starting to turn into self-insert slop, as in the main character has all of these women characters fawning over him and a lot of the character development ends up being focused on this. To be completely blunt, I think that by doing this the game is squandering its potential. I do not mind the character choices, but more so the lack of individuality in the character development. The first couple chapters of story were amazing, truly. Right up until season 1 the story was great. Season 2 was where I felt as if the story started to become slop. Which is disappointing because of how unique the game could be in terms of storytelling. Also, good luck in getting any new male characters anytime soon in you’re into that. But aside from my clear dislike of the story direction, I think it’s still a great game. It’s just unfortunate that most people that play the game would likely disagree on my take.
The game mechanics are phenomenal — I really enjoy the card-based combat system and how it adds strategy to every encounter. The animations for all the characters, skills, enemies, and cutscenes are genuinely impressive. I even found myself rushing through the story just to see the enemy animations in action. The art style of Chaos Zero Nightmare is also beautiful and fits the tone of the game perfectly. My only gripe is with the character designs. A majority of the combatants, and partners characters are highly suggestive. It’s not just a few revealing designs — it’s almost the entire cast. The gender ratio is also heavily skewed toward female characters. While that’s not inherently a bad thing, it’s something to keep in mind if the harem-style presentation isn’t your preference. What stands out even more is that the suggestive nature doesn’t extend to the male characters — there are only five male combatants out of twenty-five total. I also checked the game’s official website and noticed even more upcoming characters that haven’t been added yet, and almost all of them are scantily clad women as well. For some players, this might actually be part of the appeal, and to be fair, the gameplay itself is incredibly fun. The roguelike elements and smooth battle animations make every run enjoyable. Still, the overly sexualized designs of the female characters can make the experience feel uncomfortable at times and take away from what is otherwise a fantastic game.
The gameplay is, actually, extremely intuitive and fun, and well I definitely think the endgame could become a slog, the overall gameplay loop is extremely addictive. If you are to pick up this game, that should be the reason, because its really the only reason to play. But, in a gameplay genre that is becoming more increasing popular in gacha games, I dont think id recommend this game to anyone. The character design is so generic and lazy. All of them look so stereotypically “gacha” game-y as far as basic tropes and fanservice go, and it absolutely kills the overall games story (what little it does have.) the characters designs tell no story, there is absolutely no cohesion between members of the dame faction, and worst of all, none of their designs belong in this dark and serious setting anf story that theyre trying to get you invested into, and thats never minding the absolute ridiculous art they have for certain statuses, well trying to react to these statuses completely seriously. Its lowkey funny the insane disconnect between the characters designs and everything else in this game, and it judt comes off making the characters feel extremely soulless, made quickly for a buck and not at all actually considering the design carefully or to fit the story, which is a shame. Also, the story is really underwhelming.
The game is fun and great to play. There are plenty of things to keep you occupied and the battle gameplay is unique and engaging. Building teams and tackling events and bosses can be an entertaining experience similar to other games of the genre. The artwork and animation are pretty high quality and I enjoy the overall design of the characters and game world. Honestly when it comes to the gameplay and offerings, I have nothing bad to say. Enter summoning. TO ME, this is a nightmare. My play style is a collector. I enjoy getting the characters and building them as best I can with minimal financial investment. However, in this game, I was not able to do that which ultimately led to me deleting the game. I was a new player who joined at a good time because there were several free characters you could acquire easily. I did that and even lucked out in getting the seasonal hero Heidimarie. Love her look and kit! Since then, summoning has failed on every banner, every time, no matter what I was summoning for. Hard pity has been the standard for 3 straight seasonal banners, 2 straight normal banners, 2 straight partner banners, and even the banner that restores motion to your cards consistently hits pity. I’ve played various game modes to stack summoning currency and even spent a little cash, but none of it helped. Reaching to the bottom of the barrel every time I summon gets old very quickly. I don’t want to play a game where I feel defeated just by opening the summon screen. That’s why I don’t play anymore. I hope this is helpful, the mods fix the summoning system and the game continues to prosper. Best wishes and happy gaming.
Firstly, the rogue-like horror story aspect of this game is phenomenal. The combat system, even more than that, is its greatest strength. It’s what differentiates this gacha game from most of the others with the way it’s done; it’s very interactive, strategic, and aesthetically pleasing. There’s a lot of uniqueness this game provides that makes it one of the most unique in its own right, like the trauma system. However, even though revealing clothes is very common for female characters in gacha games, it’s just off-putting in a game like this that’s supposed to be more serious. More despairing, and more ambitious. The storyline was fantastic, especially at the beginning when you’re first starting. But as time went on, and especially in present times with more provocative female characters… it’s not working out. Do you know how amazing it would be if the storyline got even darker, and if new characters being released had more personality, story, and goal than just their bodies being revealing at every movement? This game would skyrocket in value. It’s that good otherwise. Please. PLEASE don’t forget the potential this game has beyond typical gacha objectifying women. Please.
The game as a whole is very similar to slay the spire, except there’s the concept of “saving” decks that you created after a run. If you’re into that, it might be worth a try. The past two seasons (2 and 3) of the game have introduced a lot of new and interesting cards. However, after the season is over, those cards are nerfed to the point that the decks you created with them are no good. A lot of the players are very frustrated because creating a great deck is very time consuming. To make matters worse, the developers do not signify that things were going to be nerfed suddenly, so players spent a lot of time building the decks and they’re shocked all that effort is wasted. The only people that were not affected by this change were those who barely played the game at all. I feel a game should be able to cater to both parties, those who play very little, and those who play a lot. Neither group should be penalized. I’m lowering my rating for this game because I empathize with those who spent a significant amount of time grinding for a deck. Smilegate needs to either offer better compensation for this change, or undo the nerfs that happen every season. Otherwise, what’s the point of playing, if your deck keeps getting ruined every season.
